Kakagurui Receives English Live-Action Series from Netflix: Meet the Cast - Main Image
Netflix has another live-action anime adaptation in the works, and it’s none other than BET, which is based on the hit gambling anime Kakegurui. Today, Netflix revealed the main cast of the Kakegurui live-action series.
While there’s no word yet on the characters they’ll portray, this is a promising announcement as it should mean the show’s production continues to ramp up.
Meet the Cast of Netflix’s Live-Action Kakegurui Adaptation
Kakegurui is a significant show for Netflix as it was one of the streaming platform’s biggest anime hits. After all, the first season was released in 2018, when Netflix didn’t have a big anime library yet.
Since the first season’s release, the anime got renewed for another season, and it got a prequel spinoff that follows Mary Saotome.

At long last, Eddie Murphy is reprising his role as street-smart cop Axel Foley in the fourth instalment of the Beverly Hills Cop franchise, which is set to hit Netflix this summer. But, it isn’t easy being a middle aged action star. It’s been nearly thirty years since we last saw Eddie Murphy as Axel Foley, and in a recent interview with People Magazine he admitted that the shoot was a “rough one”.“I did Axel Foley when I was in my 20s. I am not in my 20s anymore,” he said. At any rate, Murphy won’t be the only aged actor from the original to show up, with many of the classic Beverly Hills Cop cast members are set to join him in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley. Here’s everything we know about Beverly Hills Cop 4!

“A Million Little Things” actor Lizzy Greene is set to star in and executive produce 5X Media’s “High Tide,” a survival thriller that follows a group of friends stranded on an island in the Pacific.
“High Tide” is the first feature film by management-production firm 5X Media.
The film’s official logline reads, “Greene plays Hannah who, mourning the death of her sister, takes off around the world. Her journey leads her to Fiji and on a tour of an isolated atoll—a volcanic island that disappears with each high tide. But when the group are stranded, the rapidly rising ocean begins to reveal its terrifying inhabitants.”
Directed by David Straiton (“Narcos” and “The Originals”), and written by Erik Patterson and Jessica Scott (“Abandoned”), the film will begin production this fall in South East Asia. Scott Einbinder (“Killer Joe”) and Matt Bierman (“Deep Blue Sea”) will produce.

And just like that, Charles changed his mind about whether Ripley should fight the lawsuit.
Chicago Med Season 9 Episode 11 featured Ripley getting triggered at his deposition while dealing with more of Scully's nonsense.
Ripley didn't mind Charles stepping in on his behalf, but I'm not nearly as calm about it as he is.
Ripley Should Have Made This Decision Himself.
Maybe it's the Don Quixote in me wanting Ripley to keep tilting at this windmill, but I don't think he should have backed down from the lawsuit.
Charles encouraged it in the first place because Pawel lies with impunity and uses his influence to intimidate people into not holding him accountable.
Those are damn good reasons to stand up to him.
Charles was worried about Ripley's mental health, but does deciding for him that the lawsuit should end help things?
Part of my social work training involved the idea that...

We're gearing up for another emotional hour.
As the season nearly ends, there's so much to address and so little time to do so, but they're digging into the nitty gritty.
We will see another intriguing call on Station 19 Season 7 Episode 7 and delve into some of the personal elements with a couple of characters.
As the race to the end continues, we're barreling through some plots this season.
It was evident when Station 19 addressed Vic's emotional state and burnout with an emotional and, to some, confusing hour that served as one of Barrett Doss' best performances.
We're led to believe that after what felt like a season of Vic bottling up her emotions and not addressing things, she's had the cathartic release that will allow her to move forward.
And the others were there to hear her and support her in their way, namely Travis, as the hour delivered on...

"You can talk to me. What did we say about responsibility, Peter?" This ain't your Aunt May's Spider-Man. Now available to watch online is a 10-minue short film called The Spider, described as a "horror take on Spider-Man." Joining the other two spider horror films this year - Sting and Infested. Written and directed by Andy Chen, an up-and-coming young filmmaker who goes under the name "Locust Garden" on social media, the short film features a legit cast. Chandler Riggs (seen in "The Walking Dead" & "A Million Little Things") stars as Peter, with Holgie Forrester, Carl Addicott, Matthew Tyler Vorce, Ben Thomas, and Caylee Cowan. It is an entirely fan-made, non-profit film inspired by Spider-Man. It gets really dark at the end, going down a path similar to Cronenberg's The Fly, which is exactly what I was hoping to see in this short. Super disgusting! Sony would never do anything...

Among all the horror-thrillers that have caught hold of fans to the core, Chandler Riggs’ The Spider seems to gaining an edge. A short fanmade film with a legit cast that actually nailed it, this movie has been inspired by none other than the beloved friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, though it differs in wide ranges when it comes to the themes and genre.
The Spider (2024).
That said, this version is a darker take on the web-slinger and is actually a horror movie from the up-and-coming young filmmaker, Andy Chen. Nonetheless, fans’ reactions to this short film are nothing short of spectacular, with many of them even giving this “horror take on Spider-Man” perfect scores for everything — from the cast to the storyline to the special effects and whatnot.

Her role as Jill in The Neighbors Episode 21 was her first acting role since the 1990s, and now she's back for a major movie appearance.
Bethenny Frankel to Star in Danger in the Dorm
Danger in the Dorm is a far cry from reality TV as it follows true crime novelist Ann Rule's story of the same name.
Bethenny Frankel is more than a former Housewife, though. She's a television personality, entrepreneur, author, and philanthropist.
Now, we can add Lifetime actress to her resume as she stars alongside Clara Alexandrova (A Million Little Things).

If there’s an Avengers of television directors, “The Last of Us” just assembled it.
The juggernaut HBO series has landed a murderer’s row of directing talent for Season 2: Mark Mylod, who just won an Emmy for his work on the final season of HBO’s “Succession”; Kate Herron, who directed every episode of the first season of the Marvel Studios series “Loki”; Stephen Williams, nominated for an Emmy for directing on HBO’s “Watchmen”; and Nina Lopez-Corrado, nominated for an Imagen award for directing on Season 2 of HBO’s “Perry Mason.”
The filmmakers join three veteran directors of the series returning for its second season: Creators and executive producers Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, who respectively helmed the first and second episodes of the show, and Peter Hoar, who was nominated for an Emmy for directing the heartbreaking third episode, “Long, Long Time.”

The 2022-2023 TV season has come and gone, and there’s a slew of shows that won’t be coming back for the 2023-2024 season. Some long-running shows are coming to an end in 2023, and others won’t be able to continue their stories, even if they did initially get a season renewal (some got saved!). Below is the list of all the TV shows we’re parting with this year. ABC A Million Little Things, five seasons AMC 61st Street, one season Damascus, canceled Fear the Walking Dead, eight seasons Soulmates, one season AMC+ Happy Valley, three seasons Pantheon, one season Animal Planet Pitbulls and Parolees, 19 seasons Apple TV+ The Mosquito Coast, two seasons Servant, four seasons Shantaram, one season Truth Be Told, three seasons Dear Edward, one season CBS NCIS: Los Angeles, 14 seasons Blood and Treasure, two seasons True Lies, one season East New York, one season CNBC Money Court,...

When the TV series based on the popular video game franchise Twisted Metal made its premiere on the Peacock streaming service back in July, it quickly became one of Peacock’s top five original series, racking up 400 million viewing minutes in its first weekend and earning the honor of being the streamer’s “most-binged” premiere. Now season 2 is moving full steam ahead, and showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith (who also happens to be a writer on Cobra Kai) has given Syfy Wire an update, saying the writers room has been assembled for season 2 and he feels they’re going to deliver something wild.
Smith is excited to be working with characters like Dollface, Mr. Grimm, and Axel, although working a couple of those into the grounded world established in the first season presents a challenge. All good (and lesser) shows must come to an end, and here is Deadline’s photo gallery of TV series that have been canceled in 2023. Click on the image above to view the pics.
Spanning broadcast, cable and streaming, the list also includes some programs that were canceled in 2022 but have wrapped or are ending their runs this year. Those include The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Star Trek: Picard, A Million Little Things, New Amsterdam, Riverdale, The Flash, Snowfall, Servant, His Dark Materials, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan and and Stranger Things — unless the latter’s two-part final season ends up bleeding into 2024. And if so, this gallery also will have any shows whose cancellation is announced this year but aren’t ending until after the last calendar page turns on 2023 — or 2024. Semantically, it also includes shows that are being billed as “ended” vs. canceled.

While Blue Bloods was a cop drama, many fans looked forward to the Sunday dinner scene in each episode and loved the show's family values. When this show goes off the air, that'll be one less family drama on the schedule -- and there aren't many around anymore.
At its heart, Blue Bloods was about a family that loved each other through thick and thin and had each other's backs
Viewers are hungry for that sort of stuff. Every week, Facebook groups for Blue Bloods fans were full of posts discussing the Sunday dinner. Sometimes, the scene would be short, and people would complain or think there wasn't one and get upset.

ABC is the latest network to reveal when fans can expect their favorite series to return to the air following the end of the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes.
The schedule has plenty of big surprises, including 9-1-1 landing on a new night after moving to the Alphabet network from Fox.
9-1-1 Season 7 has scored the Thursday lead-off spot, where it will lead into Grey's Anatomy Season 20.
Previous 8 p.m. occupant, Station 19 is airing out of Grey's Anatomy in the 10 p.m. slot.
That's very late for the spinoff, but we'll reserve judgment on that until we lay eyes on the numbers.
Moving 9-1-1 away from Mondays is a choice because the show has continuously delivered strong ratings throughout its run.
There's also the chance many viewers will be confused by the move and won't follow it to ABC, so there are many variables here.

When A Million Little Things ended its five-season run on ABC earlier this year, it seemed like the door was closed on the series for good.
Now, though, there's a chance that more episodes of the beloved drama could be produced.
Series creator DJ Nash took to X this week to respond to a fan who asked if the show is over.
"It's over. For now," he responded.
In a word? Whoa.
It's not uncommon for TV series to stage comebacks after their series finales.
In this TV climate, shows return for additional seasons years after they wrap up.
Frasier recently returned, 19 years after its series finale, for example.
There's a lot of story to mine from a comeback of A Million Little Things, which gave This Is Us a run for its money as one of the most emotional shows on TV.
We're still trying to get over A Million Little Things...
