This show is single-handedly ruined by the main kid, Cranston's "son". Literally making one horrible decision after another. Trying my best not to blame the actor for terrible writing, but even his acting is lacking. I know that's harsh, but...damn. Really let down 5 episodes into the first Season. Will update rating higher if anything happens to change my mind...but the show is no greater than a 5 right now. And that's being relatively generous.

The kid has been an idiot since the first episode. His idiotic choices are what got him into the mess in the first place. He's behaving how most sheltered 17 year old kids would behave if they got in a situation like that. He lacks any sort of street smarts that I'm not sure why people always ask for characters to be like human beings but then get mad when they act like human beings.
The show is great. I was on the edge of my seat and my heart was pounding. Everyone did an amazing job and especially Bryan Cranston

The hate for "the kid" is bizarre. He's a young, insecure teen that suffers from debilitating asthma. This is realistic writing folks. Not all 17 year olds are Jr. Superheroes. Brian Cranston is on top of his game & the suspense is non stop pretty quickly into the show. Many of these negative reviews are based on the first episode alone & frankly, are pretty stupid. Post Katrina left areas of the city thinly populated and there's a reason why thugs are at the spot the kid stops at. If you understand that an untreated asthma attack combined with high adrenaline can mess you up, you won't think what happened is unrealistic. But you have to get past the first 15 minutes to see the realism the writing reflects about the main characters, New Orleans and it's residents. If you liked Breaking Bad, you will like this show. Ignore the haters. This is a great show.

I just finished season two and let me tell you, this drama series has everything you want in a crime show!! Season one was very good, but I have to admit, the finale of season one had me a little frustrated. I didn't understand why they chose THAT ending. I had no idea where they would take this show, but man, having just finished season two they executed everything perfectly. The storyline is great! Everything comes full circle. The cast does an amazing job. Big Mo is one of my favorite characters in any TV series. Crime, suspense, plot twists...highly recommend! It's a high quality, well thought out show which is something that's becoming harder and harder to come by these days. Can't wait for Season 3!

A sign of a good show is when you want to keep playing the next episode and you sneak bits in on the phone whoever the opportunity arises.
All the people complaining about son don't get it. Is he an annoying dweeb? Absolutely. But that's the intention - it requires Cranston in his role to have to take on all the thinking and all the doing, to keep them both safe. If the son was a well put together, articulate, athletic, affable character, it wouldn't have near the same impact. It adds to the desperation and frustration of Cranston trying with all his will to stay one step ahead of the bad guys.

Your Honor is a legal drama television series that premiered on Showtime in December 2020. The show is based on the Israeli series Kvodo and is set in New Orleans, Louisiana. The main character is Judge Michael Desiato, played by Bryan Cranston, who is a respected judge in the city. The story begins when Michael's son Adam, played by Hunter Doohan, is involved in a hit-and-run accident that kills a member of a notorious organized crime family.
To protect his son, Michael makes a series of questionable decisions that put him in the middle of a dangerous and complex web of lies, corruption and crime. The judge must balance his duty to uphold the law and his duty as a father, while also navigating the city's complex legal system and dealing with the various factions vying for power in New Orleans. The show also stars Carmen Ejogo, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Michael Stahl-David, and Lilli Kay.
Your Honor explores themes of morality, justice, and the consequences of one's actions. The show is praised for its well-written script, and the performances of the lead actors, particularly Bryan Cranston, who received critical acclaim for his portrayal of Michael Desiato. The show is also praised for its accurate depiction of New Orleans and its culture, which adds an extra layer of realism to the story.
Overall, Your Honor is a thrilling and intense legal drama that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats as they watch Michael navigate the dangerous waters of crime and corruption in the city. The show is recommended for fans of legal dramas, crime thrillers, and fans of Bryan Cranston's work.

So, I was dubious about this series after reading the negative reviews and after the first two instalments, I thought there was some truth...however, this series is not about a brilliant story, it's about the morals you think you have and after some bad luck, the morals you really have. I thought it was excellent, forget the cheesy coincidences and think about the choices one makes. As for some reviews citing an annoying kid...really? Clearly not parents! Karl Grimes he is not!
Don't listen to all the bad reviews! This show is spectacular. The first season was a little slow but they are building up the characters and the plot so that it has the chance to be long running series. I mean the amount of scores under 4 is absurd. Do you idiots know what a 1 star show consists of??? It's a show that looks like it is shot in a basement somewhere and produced by a 13 year old. With the amount of bad television out right now we need all the well written shows we can get. I know for me, I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel trying to find something to watch and when you morons give decent shows low ratings and bad reviews it forces the networks to cancel shows prematurely. So please use a little common sense and think about others before you give a show a 1! I've seen pretty much all the good shows out and in my opinion have pretty good taste in movies and shows. So I give you my word that this is a decent show. It's probably an 8 but I gave it a ten to cancel out at least one false rating. Do yourself a favor and draw your own opinion on this one. You won't be sorry. It's fantastic!

Unfortunately, "Your Honor" was extremely disappointing for me...
I watched the show because I saw an interview by Bryan Cranston where he was talking about the show and I thought it sounded quite interesting.
The premise of the series is indeed incredibly exciting and with better authors one could certainly have created a nerve-wracking and impressive series, but the authors really mess everything up here.
The series has everything else - good actors, nice sets, good camera shots, etc.
But when it comes to the whole story - the most important part of a series - it doesn't convince me at all... There are so many scenes that just don't make sense and not just when you analyze them, but when you think about them at all - which the writers apparently just didn't do.
The writing of this series is honestly one of the worst I've ever seen in a series. All the characters are completely dumb just so the secret doesn't unfold.
The points are really only for the other aspects mentioned (acting, camera, set, etc.)

A classic story of how the privileged and powerful will go to great lengths to protect their own, even if they did something as horrible as what this stupid kid did.

Brilliant acting by the kid who played Kofi. Cranston was Cranston, the mob wife kinda scared me but Adam ruined the show for me. I couldn't wait for him to go down.
