Watched the premier of this and thought it was amusing. When the real season started, we tuned in again, but this time couldn't get through 10 minutes. Why - because the contestants were so obviously overplaying their enthusiasm and excitement that it was too annoying to sit through. Granted, we aren't really game show watchers, but have tuned into Jane Lynch's game show from time to time and enjoyed it, so thought this would be similarly enjoyed. We were wrong. Ellen lost us at the first bout of incessant squealing from the contestants.

Can a show with this many special effects and so obviously scripted be truthfully called a "reality show?" This game seems mainly crafted to be a showcase for Ellen's standup and sitcom type of one liner humor.
The contestants are obviously hired actors, and Ellen is at her least funny. But I will say, the games are fun and it's hilarious.

I am not a fan of gameshows in general. However, I really enjoyed this so far. It isn't like typical US gameshow fare. I've seen others say, and I have to agree, that it is very much like the Japanese game shows. It is outrageous, it is very physical, and it serves up the laughs. Right now, it is the perfect addition to the evening lineup. This fills the need for an evening show that families can watch together. Ellen is always funny and charming, even when she's about to drop someone thirty feet into a pool of gross mush. It is not at all cerebral. It will not stimulate a single neuron in your brain. If that is what you want, you should watch Jeopardy. But if you want to laugh for no reason, an excellent choice. I'm giving this a top score because it is exactly what it is supposed to be, not rating it low because it isn't something it didn't pretend to be. If I were to give advice on how it could be better, Ellen could throw in some more one-liners so it doesn't rely only on physical comedy for laughs.

Ellen's Game of Games (2017-)
Director: Russell Norman
Watched: January 2018
Rating: 7/10
Favorite Episode(s): Pilot, The Stink Tank Strikes Back
Inane answers to Oft likewise inane questions, Annoying shrieking, Contestant histrionics, Can Ellen save this staged mess?
Ellen so funny, She's playfully malicious. Varied minigames- Not as cool as Mario's, But still a Party of laughs!
Somonka is a form of poetry that is essentially two tanka poems (the 5-7-5-7-7 syllable format), the second stanza a response to the first. Traditionally, each is a love letter and it requires two authors, but sometimes a poet takes on two personas. My somonka will be a love/hate letter to this film? #Somonka #PoemReview #TVSeriesReview #Comedian #GameShow

Ellen balances out the manic actors with her superiour attitude. Not funny, not believable and I thought this steamy pile was dumped after last season.
Great show! Don't listen to the bore below - definitely not actors and the games are so funny

I was watching the show over the tv and you can tell the cast of contestants is entirely hired. Much of the stuff a contestant of put through are not even legally applicable. So they acquire individuals who sign a non-disclosurer agreement and vetted. These are often individuals who play in commercials or stock photo ads. The stuff asked for questions have as much intelligent reference as People or gossip magazine. You can tell that it's also rigged by the fact the rules are rigged. The last part where individuals line up and asked questions before they fall is so fake because its not fair or balanced way to determine a contestant deserves the prize as it always gives the last contestant the unfair advantage over the rest. All they have to do is survive where as all contestants should be asked one at a time but not sent immediately down until all contestants have been asked questions. However for the sake of entertainment they hire a cast and speed up the results for fast fed media bullshit.

I've been to a bunch of episode shoots of game shows in my youth, so when I see people freaking out about the audience/fake audience I just took off in my roflcopter.
I watch that audience and I think to myself "Man, either the crowd-warmers on that set are amazing or their effectiveness is just amplified by the fact that the people both in the audience and competing on this show are all adrenaline junkies... or all of the above."
...and then of course, there are her FANS - most of whom I imagine would all be super excited to be part of a new "Ellen" show and potentially meet their idol in person - and/or those who could get star-struck excited, on top of all the above.
...in addition to the "privilege" of playing for Ellen's amusement.
Seems like a perfectly logical outcome, in my opinion.
AND, that's how I choose to enjoy it. :)

But lately her talk show has had more of these ridiculous games. The game show is just mean. Humiliating the folks seems to tickle Ellen and her audience. I don't feel sorry for them though. They seem like they've auditioned to see who can be the most animated and obnoxious. Ugh

The whole show is how Ellen can make fools of people because they would like to win money. Then she revels in it that she can do that. Totally classless.
I don't understand why people are say bad things about this show on IMDB
this show is brilliant
That can leave your mind free about your problem during the show and have 1 hour pure joy when you watching it
The games are new, giant production, fun and nice designed
I love this show and ellen

She takes way too much pleasure in humiliating and demeaning the "contestants". Rigged, phony and pathetic. I hope it is cancelled soon.
To see Ellen humiliate fans is so tacky and tasteless, She has rude comments about contestants clothes, hair styles and even the body size that is nothing short of a middle school bully. Makes me wonder how she treats people when she's off the camera. If anybody made a vulgar comment about her, she'd be all over it and them. Like I said, after watching one show I had had enough.
I absolutely LOVE this show!! I find myself laughing out loud when I watch. It is great to see adults having so much fun for a change!! Ellen is a terrific host and you can tell she is having a great time, as well. The different games they come up with are hilarious! This is opne show I always look forward to watching. It makes my day:)

After less than 15 minutes of this show it was obvious that that this game show's "contestants" are clearly actors. Who is this show pandering to? I'm guessing it's the general population who have the IQ of a rock. Enjoy.

This show only continues to confirm my feelings about this creepy woman. This is a sadistic carnival side show wapped up in a 'fun' package. Complete with shrieking, pavlovian audiences wired up like B.F.Skinner's mice. Dunk em, humiliate em, it's all fair game. And, hey, it's all in good fun because, wait for it, Ellen LOVES YOU!! And, surprise!, everybody gets a new car!!!
From the "I have to have all my guests dance for me" or her gotcha scare tactics on unwitting guests, to prizes for everybody this woman has real issues, with a monstrous and constant need to be loved.
This show is very entertaining and full of wit! Ellen's and Twitch's positive personalities make the show even better. Great family friendly show!

It initially seemed like a good idea with the physicality of the games. But it seems rigged. In one segment of the show which I watched, the first person who got a question wrong was kept in the competition while the others were each dropped when they gave wrong answers. Also, the questions varied too widely with their difficulty within any given segment. It was like they already new who they wanted to wind and tried to work the game accordingly.
