Terrible plot, awful cast and laughable continuity.
Pay close attention at rental car colour.
I did not expect much at all from this film. I gave it a go because the synopsis mentioned 'folklore', of which I can never get enough. I was unbelievably surprised and pleased to find that it was a well done film in the vein of The Wicker Man and Straw Dogs. I had never heard of or seen any of the actors, but for an indie film(which I prefer to more mainstream movies), it was super fun. It's not a movie that will be to everyone's taste. But if you love rural English villages oozing with folklore and strange happenings, see it on a dark and stormy night with popcorn and a friend!
Plot had some major holes in it, and the dialogue and expressions of all involved were bereft of any substance. At times the background music was so loud you could not make sense of what was said on screen.... Could have been so much more than it ended up being.

Blood Myth was a refreshing horror movie to watch in an age of jump scares and gore. The story is slowly paced but expertly unravels, building creepy tension and a dread filled atmosphere which pulls you in.
The acting is great and in the tradition of American Werewolf and Wicker Man, there are some genuinely creepy locals in the village the film takes place. The lead is very good at portraying an everyman character and everything he does makes sense unlike some horror films where the protagonist does stupid things and walks into danger.
If you like slow-burn horror/thrillers then you will appreciate Blood Myth. The story builds towards a great twist (don't watch the trailers - it will spoil it) and I was very satisfied with the payoff. Like all great mysteries, it doesn't give you all the answers and leaves you wanting to know more.

- GoofsThe rental car changes colour from the inside and outside of the car. This was explained by the directors in an interview that the original car was in a crash with a bus and written off. So another car was used for the inside.
