A good episode.
I just want to say that this was a pretty good episode definitely for season 9 or for the start of season 9.
Lake life:
When Jay moves everyone to the lake(lake house) he seems pretty sure of himself when everyone seems fine or so it seems.
When Claire and Phil decide that there an old couple(from a brochure) they seem to try and feel more like there younger easier said than done especially since Phil can't seem to go in the water.
Then you have Mitchell and Cameron who after the doctor Cameron finds out he can't go in the sun what a shock what's even more shocking is Mitchell finds out a boy he almost hooked up with is at the bait shop near by what luck!
Then the story gets weirder when a couple of jet skiers ask Haley Alex Luke and Manny to hangout what are the odds of that?
While on the boat Alex feels she needs "alone time" from Ben so when Ben helps Lily out he passes out so she pushes him to sea bon voyage Ben!
Mitchell finally gets the courage or what Jay says "face embarrassment" to confront his long awaited fear and turns out it wasn't a fear at all but there was a lot of embarrassing stuff that occurred.
Then the story gets mellow when they all get together and sing a song Happy ending.
I guess there's only one thing left to say Where's Ben?

This is a fabulous episode and great start to the new season. There are a couple of weak storylines, but Cam alone steals the show. We didn't stop laughing 😂
"Modern Family" seem to be suffering last season. It seem to have no central focus. It looked like Cameron Sister was joining the show but at the Premiere Episode she is not only not there but she is not even mentioned.
I have to admit that the cast still works well together which explains why it was still nominated last year fora an Emmy Award for Best Comedy where the reality was it should not have been.
The Premiere Episode has the family on a Houseboat in Lake Tahoe. They are there to enjoy the eclipse. As with any family people argue and feelings get there feeling hurt. The only story that did not work for me last night was the "Manny" episode. It wasn't funny. That story was just "WEAK".
Mitch story was funny and typical Mitch. The best story was Claire and Phil. Both now well into their forties. When they are handed a brochure about things to do they realized that they were given one that "OLD PEOPLE" get. This freaks them out and laughs begin.

I always feel a longing for more at the end of each season. When it came back i felt very ecstatic and my expectations were met with an equally amazing season premiere. Definitely one of my favorite episodes and worthy of a 10 rating. Keep rocking MF... :)
The actors forgot their roles and watched old episodes. Then they were playing actors who are playing the characters they saw.
It got better the next episode but this one was awful. Maybe they just saw it as vacation? Or there wasn't enough time for every take because of the light? Or locals were watching?

- Quotes
Mitchell Pritchett: [Yelling to Jay] "Run *toward* embarrassment, not away from it, and you take away its power." I'm always gonna remember that!
Jay Pritchett: Good enough.
Claire Dunphy: [Under her breath] "Run toward embarrassment?" What does that even mean?
Mitchell Pritchett: I don't know. He needs this.
