There's No "I" In "Peace" On First Poster For Peacemaker Season 2; First Trailer Arrives Tomorrow
Image
The first poster for Peacemaker season 2 has been released, with the trailer now confirmed for tomorrow. Some of you may be disappointed that this is getting a push before Superman's first full trailer lands, but the Man of Steel did recently get a 5-minute sneak peek and featurette.

This latest sneak peek, which follows yesterday's TV spot, doesn't reveal much, but puts the spotlight on the title character and Eagly. It's also accompanied by the tagline, "There is no I in Peace."

Plot details for season 2 are being kept a closely guarded secret, though there are rumblings that, among the changes made when we follow Smith into a new reality, will be the fact that his father and brother are alive again. Frank Grillo's Rick Flag Sr. will also be out for revenge after learning of Peacemaker's role in his son's death.

Peacemaker spun out of the events of The Suicide Squad,...

Björk on Her New Concert Movie, ‘Cornucopia,’ and Creating an Immersive Sci-Fi Universe on Stage and on Film: ‘I Want Optimistic Goth’
Image
In talking about her new concert movie, “Björk: Cornucopia,” the movie’s namesake mentions the way the performance in the film wraps up, and the finally hopeful message she wanted to get across with it.

She says the ending of the movie has “Love will save us from death” as its climactic message, “which I highly believe in. It is a strange reply to the goths of Joy Division’s ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart.’ I want optimistic goth,” she declares. For emphasis, she cheekily adds: “Albino goth is what I am going for here.”

Getting to that uplifting ending on stage was a typically mind-blowing experience, as recaptured in “Björk: Cornucopia,” the magical-reality concert film documenting her five-year-long tour that opens in cinemas worldwide today. (Tickets and theater locations for the film can be found here.)

When you ask the Icelandic audio-visual arts icon to go deep on the tour-turned-movie,...

Who Is Isaac Dixon in ‘The Last of Us’? Jeffrey Wright’s Character Explained
Image
HBO’s ‘The Last of Us’ dives deeper into its post-apocalyptic world with season 2, and one character stealing the spotlight is Isaac Dixon, played by Jeffrey Wright. If you’re wondering who this guy is and why he matters, let’s break it down. Isaac isn’t just another survivor—he’s a commanding figure whose presence shakes up the story, especially for Abby Anderson, a key player in this season.

Isaac Dixon leads the Washington Liberation Front, or Wlf, a militia group in Seattle. Known as the Wolves, they’re a heavily armed force fighting for control in a world ravaged by the Cordyceps infection. Isaac’s no hero, though. He’s a former Marine who turned against Fedra, the government agency running quarantine zones, after growing fed up with their harsh rule. His leadership helped the Wlf overthrow Fedra in Seattle, but freedom came at a cost. Isaac...

Sinners Box Office Crosses Major Global Milestone That Justifies The Ryan Coogler Horror Movie's Huge Budget
Image
Sinners has passed a crucial milestone at the worldwide box office. The new horror movie, which follows twins Smoke and Stack (both played by Michael B. Jordan) facing a sinister evil after returning to their Mississippi hometown in the 1930s, was directed by Black Panther and Creed's Ryan Coogler. The Sinners box office has set multiple records, including earning the best Easter opening weekend ever for an R-rated movie and having the second-best week 2 drop ever for an R-rated horror movie.

Per Variety, as of Sunday morning, Sinners is projected to close its third weekend in theaters by hitting a cumulative domestic total of $181 million. When combined with the $57 million that it is projected to have earned overseas by the end of Sunday, this brings its cumulative global box office total to $236 million. That total sees it passing the $225 million milestone, which is most likely its break-even point, because its...

‘Thunderbolts*’ Rolls To $162M+ Global Opening; ‘Minecraft’ Nears $900M WW & ‘Sinners’ Has Another Saintly Hold – International Box Office
Image
Sunday Update: Coming in a touch lower than where we saw it heading yesterday, Marvel Studios/Disney’s Thunderbolts* has opened to $162.1M globally, including $86.1M from the international box office. The worldwide bow is within the pre-weekend projected opening range.

Overseas, the Florence Pugh-starrer launched at No. 1 or No. 1 non-local in nearly all major markets as well as most smaller markets. The international debut is estimated to be 45% ahead of Shang-Chi, 13% above Ant-Man and 7% over Guardians of the Galaxy in like-for-like markets at current rates (excluding China).

The film played best in Latin America and smaller Asian markets, while Europe was a bit mixed. Although overall Saturday bumps didn’t pan out as hoped, parts of Europe saw some of the biggest Friday-Saturday increases which reflects the impact of changing weather. Similar to the U.S., reviews and social sentiment internationally are generally strong, and Thunderbolts* has runway...

Image
How Much Does Thunderbolts* Need At The Box Office To Succeed?(Photo Credit –Facebook)

Thunderbolts* has officially crash-landed into theaters, assembling a ragtag squad of anti-heroes, assassins, and chaotic government puppets for Marvel’s boldest gamble yet. With Bucky Barnes leading the charge and familiar faces like Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, and Ghost in tow, it’s less “Avengers, assemble” and more “therapy session meets classified mission.”

But behind the action and morally grey charm lies a serious mission: saving Marvel’s post-Endgame momentum. After a streak of box office highs and lows, Thunderbolts* is carrying more weight than just emotional baggage. It’s not just about explosions and redemption arcs; it’s about proving that Marvel still has box office muscle. So, how much money does this unpredictable team need to rake in before the MCU hits Doomsday? Let’s break down what it takes to turn this cinematic Hail Mary into a hit.

Will Smith in Hitch (2005)

‘The Twilight Zone’ Cast: What Are They Doing in 2025?
Image
Jordan Peele’s love for the strange and the supernatural has always been loud and clear, and with The Twilight Zone reboot, he got to play host to a modern version of the legendary 1959 series he grew up admiring. Much like Rod Serling did back in the day, Peele used the format to peel back the layers of society’s darkest corners, mixing horror with moral dilemmas and mind games. Though the revival didn’t stick around as long as fans might have hoped, it packed a punch in its short run and offered a platform for some solid talent.

The anthology came and went, but the faces from the series have moved on to pretty interesting chapters in 2025. From high-stakes dramas to animated franchises, here’s what the key cast members are busy with now.

Netflix Is Adding A Collection Of Movies From One Of The Greatest Directors Ever
Image
One of the most salient shortcomings of Netflix as a streaming service is that its film library at any given moment is frustratingly devoid of movies made before 1980. In the streamer's defense, their focus since 2013 (when they hit binge-viewing paydirt with "House of Cards") has been on generating a raft of original programming in order to cut back their need to license classic television shows and films they do not own. Additionally, the success of streaming services like The Criterion Channel and Tubi, which cater to cinephiles with an array of pre-1980 movies, suggests that this market has already voted with its dollars. This is somewhat understandable, but it also does a huge disservice to young film fans who, for example, might fall so hard for Mike Flannagan's "The Haunting of Hill House" that they desperately need to see Robert Wise's much-lauded 1963 take on Shirley Jackson's horror novel.

“Something that we just couldn’t do in the game”: ‘The Last of Us’ S2 Episode 3 Is Neil Druckmann’s Favorite Episode and I’m Realizing Why
Image
Spoiler Alert !!!Spoiler warning for The Last of Us Season 2 Episode 3

Joel’s death came as a punch in the gut, even though many of us already expected it, and in the wake of an emotionally charged episode came a mellow, slow-paced chapter where the characters were given enough time to grieve. It’s a highly divisive episode, frankly speaking, because it took its time while many were waiting for the next series of action.

For the creators of the show, this was a clear favorite. While some of the audience found it long-winded and heavy on set-up, co-showrunner and game director Neil Druckmann was extremely happy with its direction.

The Last of Us Season 2 Episode 3 Review: Bella Ramsey Paces the Momentum in a Joel Free World
Image
Well, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t see the heart-wrenching tragedy coming. The brutal death of Joel in The Last of Us Season 2, Episode 2, is nothing short of a hard-hitting, tear-jerking moment for those familiar with the game. But…what made it even more painful was that, despite knowing it was coming, it still felt like a sledgehammer to the heart.

When you embark on a journey with a character, you hope for growth, victories, and moments of solace. However, in The Last of Us universe, those precious moments of respite are few and far between, and Episode 3, The Path, shoves us face-first into the cold, cruel reality of grief. After the soul-shattering death of Joel, this episode sinks its claws into our hearts with no intent of letting go.

I repeat, I knew it was coming, but the brutality of it still left me gasping for air.

Sinners (2025) Review
Image
Sinners is the kind of film that arrives like a thunderclap: audacious, bloody, and brimming with style. Ryan Coogler, reuniting with Michael B. Jordan for their most ambitious collaboration yet, fuses period noir, supernatural horror, and musical fable into a rich, genre-fluid tapestry that’s as intellectually rigorous as it is downright entertaining.

Set in 1930s Mississippi, but filmed with a mischievous modern eye, Sinners follows the return of the Smokestack twins – Smoke and Stack Moore, both played with chameleonic confidence by Jordan – to their racially segregated hometown with a dream: to open a Black-owned juke joint in an abandoned sawmill. Naturally, things don’t go according to plan. The land is cursed, the locals are wary, and, oh yeah… there are vampires. And not the sparkly kind.

What’s most remarkable here isn’t the premise, Coogler has always had a knack for turning the familiar inside out, but the sheer confidence of execution.

Ryan Reynolds Says Hugh Jackman Needs an Intervention While He Gets Dragged Into Blake Lively Lawsuit
Image
Oh boy! Hollywood’s favorite bromance just took a very unexpected turn. While dodging legal drama like bullets—thanks to that jaw-dropping $400M lawsuit against him and his wife, Blake Lively—Ryan Reynolds casually dropped a bombshell at the Time 100 Summit. He claimed to be planning to stage a full-blown intervention for none other than his bestie, Hugh Jackman.

Yep. While Hugh Jackman is currently dreading a potential deposition in Blake Lively vs. Justin Baldoni (he might soon be called in to testify in this legal circus), Ryan Reynolds seemed more concerned that his pal is overworking himself. Forget guilt—Reynolds appeared, cracking jokes despite being responsible for Jackman’s upcoming misery.

‘7th Heaven’ Cast: What Are They Doing in 2025?
Image
Time flies when you’re not grounded by family dinners and moral monologues, huh? It’s been nearly 30 years since 7th Heaven first graced our boxy TVs, teaching us lessons one Bible verse at a time. Back then, the Camden crew was tighter than a lid on a pickle jar. We’re talkin’ about the days when buffering meant go make a sandwich, and moral lessons were delivered weekly with a side of family drama.

But life, as they say, isn’t always sunshine and sermonettes. Now here we are, nearly three decades deep since that 1996 premiere, and the cast has long since flown the coop. All doing their own thing, some soaring, some sailing, some just staying under the radar like that one friend who never posts on Instagram.

Life has thrown the cast into very different storms, and let us tell you, some umbrellas held better than others.

‘Sinners’ Took a Nice Bite Out of a Random Tuesday at the Box Office
Image
Just two days after an already impressive opening weekend performance, Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners” might already be moving the goal posts for just how high it can climb at the box office. The industry has been oddly obsessed with whether this $90 million movie will be “profitable” so early in its box office run (for… reasons), but you have to feel good about the legs this movie most certainly has.

We’re not usually one to track daily box office numbers the way our sister trade publications would, but “Sinners” on Tuesday, April 22, just its fifth day in theaters, made another $8.6 million at the domestic box office. It made $7.8 million on Monday, taking its domestic haul to $64.4 million.

Both of those early week takes are more than the film made in preview showings on Thursday ($4.7 million). When you consider too that Tuesday screenings are generally discounted at most movie theaters, that...

The Last of Us Star Bella Ramsey Speaks on Becoming a 'Role Model' as They Receive Madame Tussauds Waxwork
Image
Bella Ramsey has captivated audiences with their performance as Ellie in The Last of Us, and they've also made waves offscreen with their identity as a non-binary, autistic actor. Now, they've become only the second non-binary person to get a statue from world-famous waxwork masker Madame Tussauds.

Ramsey underwent the process of being measured for the figure last year, and they described it as "an honor" in a press statement released to the BBC. "It has been such a fun experience to be included in their creative process. I can't wait to see the finished look and to share it with fans," they went on.

"When people find out there's going to be a me at Madame Tussauds London, if they come around and see me, they'll realize how small I am," they said. "I just hope that people like giving me like a high-five or something, or shaking my hand.

Monkeypaw’s Development Team Hit With Layoffs
Image
Exclusive: Monkeypaw Productions, the production company of Oscar-winning genre maestro Jordan Peele, has undergone layoffs within its development department, multiple sources tell Deadline.

The layoffs have affected Christopher Rosati, Jamal M. Watson and Alex Kim, the company’s three Vice Presidents of Development and Production, as well as four to five junior staffers at the coordinator and assistant levels.

Word of layoffs at Monkeypaw comes ahead of the release of the company’s football-themed horror film Him, one of the most anticipated genre titles of the year, from director Justin Tipping. Aside from economic realities facing the entire industry in this moment, in a time of contraction, the reasoning behind the cuts hasn’t been made clear. Chatter about the company was widespread yesterday, with industry observers expecting that overhead at Monkeypaw had come down following a renegotiation of its overall deal with Universal Studio Group.

However, sources close to...

Reading Time: 3 minutes

As we previously reported, Vanderpump Rules will be soon return to Bravo with a brand new cast.

And not surprisingly, the show’s previous stars are not thrilled about the change in personnel.

In fact, Vanderpump Og Katie Maloney has come out swinging against the reboot, blasting her old Bravo bosses for what she claims is a “cheap” attempt at cashing in on the popularity of the original cast.

Ryan Coogler Thanks Fans for Historic ‘Sinners’ Opening, Calls Cinema ‘A Necessary Pillar of Society’
Image
Ryan Coogler thanked his fans for supporting “Sinners” over its opening weekend, as it made history Monday as the biggest box office debut for an original film since Jordan Peele’s “Us” in 2019.

“Eternal Gratitude. My heart is bursting with it. I want to thank each and every one of you who bought a ticket to see ‘Sinners.’ Who decided to drive to see the film in different formats. Who bought popcorn and a drink, booked a sitter and carpooled, and stood in the lobby afterwards and talked and made a friend,” Coogler said in a thank you letter to fans obtained by TheWrap. “I want to thank you all who watched more than once, who recommended the film to others, both in person and on social media or on your text message chains.”

‘Sinners’ Scores a Huge Horror Movie Milestone at Monday Box Office
Image
Ryan Coogler’s period horror movie, Sinners, continues to perform well at the box office after its April 18, 2025, U.S. theatrical release. Starring Michael B. Jordan(Creed) in a double role, the film has pulled in an impressive $55.8 million in the U.S. and an additional $75.5 million globally. Sinners earned a record-breaking $7.8 million on its first Monday, which marks the second-highest Monday for an R-rated film, just behind It (2017).

After its premiere, Sinners surpassed World War Z’s Monday earnings of 7.6 million and outperformed Warner Bros.’ Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’s $6.2 million after a $111 million opening. The film’s strong start highlights its widespread appeal, especially with premium format screens and IMAX making up for 45% of its $48 million opening weekend collection. The exact split comes down to 19% for IMAX and 22% for Plfs.

Sinners is the first film to have been shot with IMAX cameras since Christopher Nolan’s 2023 hit, Oppenheimer. And since...

Lisa Vanderpump’s Feelings On Garcelle’s Departure From Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Image
It was quite a shock when Garcelle Beauvais walked off the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Reunion set and never looked back. She had had enough and quit the show. The whole Bravo universe is weighing in, including former Rhobh Lisa Vanderpump.

History Repeated

Lisa left Rhobh in 2019, and the circumstances weren’t that different from Garcelle’s recent departure. Many players are the same, including Kyle Richards, Erika Jayne, and Dorit Kemsley. The scandal, involving a dog adopted by Dorit, became known as “Puppy Gate.” The other ladies took Dorit’s side and basically iced out Lvp. The scandal culminated when Lisa asked her former Bff, Kyle, to leave her home, and her husband, Ken, yelled the famous “Goodbye Kyle” as she left Villa Rosa. The Vanderpump Rules star never returned to Rhobh.

Fast-forward to 2025, when Garcelle, like Lisa, felt ignored by most of her castmates. She remarked during...

Ben Stiller Defends 'Sinners' Against Box Office Criticism
Image
Ryan Coogler's R-rated vampire horror movie Sinnerstopped the box office in its opening weekend in theaters and received widespread acclaim. The biggest sin of all appeared to be the critical headlines that emerged in its wake. One such example is a recent report from Variety claiming that even with the film's $61 million global debut, "profitability remains a ways away." The outlet reiterated the statement in an X/Twitter post that has since gone viral after garnering backlash from social media users quizzing the overly critical take. Among them was actor-director Ben Stiller.

Stiller shared the scathing statement from Variety regarding the box office performance of the supernatural thriller starring Michael B. Jordan and Hailee Steinfeld, and hit back in a post that has since received over 331K likes (seen below): "In what universe does a 60 million dollar opening for an original studio movie warrant this headline?" A lot...

Michael B. Jordan in Sinners (2025)
Sinners Opens to $55M With Record Audience Response for Horror Film
Michael B. Jordan in Sinners (2025)
Warner Bros.’ Sinners has exceeded early expectations with a four-day Easter weekend total nearing $55 million, driven by audience response and an unusually broad campaign strategy. The film, directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Michael B. Jordan in dual roles, was originally projected to open in the mid-$30 million range, with tracking remaining modest until just before release.

The first trailer, released in September, generated limited attention, prompting industry speculation about the risks tied to a $90 million production. The trailer leaned on its premise—Jordan portraying twin brothers—and its horror setting, without revealing the film’s full direction. Later marketing materials withheld key story elements, such as the supernatural component, until a second trailer arrived during NFL playoff coverage in January. That reveal was timed to reach a wide audience, with more than 50 million viewers watching the AFC Championship.

Coogler’s approach to promotion included highlighting the use of IMAX cameras,...

The Hardest Part Of The Last Of Us Season 2's Big Death Isn't What You'd Expect
Image
Seriously, stop reading this right now if you haven't watched "Through the Valley," the second episode of season 2 of "The Last of Us." Spoilers lie ahead. You've been warned!

Anyone who watched "Through the Valley," the landmark episode of "The Last of Us" — HBO's adaptation of Naughty Dog's universally acclaimed game series — is likely still reeling from the major event that happens at the end of the installment. Just like in the 2020 video game sequel "The Last of Us Part II," Abby (Kaitlyn Dever), whose father was a victim of Joel's (Pedro Pascal) murderous rampage through a rebel Firefly hospital at the end of the show's first season, brutally murders the man she's been hunting for years.

Entertainment Weekly's Nick Romano spent time on set while this episode was being made, and when he spoke to showrunner Craig Mazin, who helms the series with Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann,...

Why The Sinners Credits Include A 'Special Thanks' To Christopher Nolan
Image
It's somewhat rare for a horror movie to be treated like a must-see cinematic event on the level of an "Avengers" film. We're talking about the likes of 2017's "It" and Jordan Peele's "Us," i.e. the biggest of big that the genre has to offer. Ryan Coogler, the filmmaker behind "Black Panther" and "Creed," has now managed to position his new vampire movie "Sinners" as one of these blockbuster-level cinematic events, and with good reason. Indeed, "Sinners" is one of the most acclaimed films of 2025 overall thus far.

Given the sheer impact that "Sinners" has had, particularly after its blockbuster box office debut, it perhaps seems fitting that the king of the modern blockbuster, Christopher Nolan, was given a "special thanks" shout-out in the movie's credits. But why, exactly, did Coogler thank the "Dark Knight" and "Oppenheimer" director? That's a good question. Put simply, Nolan helped Coogler get...

Let’s Talk About ‘Sinners’ and Profitability
Image
Maybe it’s because it was Easter weekend or perhaps people are on edge that Pope Francis died the day after a bunch of people went to see a movie called “Sinners” on a holy holiday, but Ryan Coogler’s original horror film can’t quite catch a break, at least in some spaces.

After staring down weeks of headlines that his movie — a genre-bending period horror film being released in April (not typically viewed as the place for a box office bonanza) and not based on existing IP (what a concept!) — was risky for both Coogler as a director and Warner Bros. as a studio, we seemingly can’t go a day without someone putting an asterisk on its success.

Online critics of the box office coverage of “Sinners” implied that the media was spinning its opening weekend take in unfair ways. On X (formerly Twitter), Ben Stiller was...

Why The Last Of Us Season 2 Added A Huge Battle Scene That's Not In The Game
Image
Put your flamethrower down if you haven't watched "Through the Valley," the latest episode to date of "The Last of Us." Spoilers incoming!

Something really big happened on "Through the Valley," the second episode of the sophomore season of HBO's massively popular series "The Last of Us" (based on the video game of the same name by Naughty Dog). I'm actually not talking about Joel Miller, the show's ostensible hero and one of the Internet's favorite dads played by Pedro Pascal, getting his head bashed in by Abby (Kaitlyn Dever). I'm talking about the assault on the survivor's stronghold in Jackson, Wyoming, where a huge, disgusting army of infected cordyceps zombies storms the town's ramparts.

Notably, this sequence is not in the video game, which does make sense. At this point in the game, the story focuses entirely on Joel's death, Abby's vengeance, and Ellie's (Bella Ramsey in the series) promise of retribution.
