An amazing video and music (too bad it doesn't play in "1984")

Excellent and very rhythmic song that sadly wasn't much of a hit, only Eurythmics fans know it and even sadder that despite being sold as part of "Nineteen-Eighty-Four" movie it's not present in the movie at all - unless in some alternative version that might be included - and as a fan of the movie I already know the battle over the film's soundtrack with director Michael Radford fighting against the financial backers with the director opposing Eurythmics score and only leaving some bits of it in the movie.

Anyway, here's the music video for the single and it's a very good mixing Eurythmics performing the song along with clips from the magnificent classic film. "Sexcrime" is all about the main character Winston Smith's ultimate sin in that absurd and horrendous futuristic world of 1984 controlled by the Big Brother. If you read Orwell you can get the feeling of it.

For a soundtrack video it's a very commendable job, but I bet those who went to see the movie expecting Eurythmics tracks like this one or "For the Love of Big Brother" they were sure disappointed in not seeing any of it playing there. The only consolations are this clip and the album which is fantastic. But for fans of the group or Orwell's novel who haven't seen the movie yet, it's a great invitation to go forward because the movie is excellent despite the absence of the group in the soundtrack. The clips presented here makes you want to see the film in a hurry. 9/10.
