Destiny 2 (2017)
A new power is born out of the ancient Pyramid ship above Europa's frozen frontier, and a dark empire has risen beneath, united under the banner of the Fallen Kell of Darkness, Eramis. Join your fellow Guardians and bring down the empire at any cost - even if it means wielding the Darkness itself.

As the new threat emerges, so too does a mysterious new power - Stasis. Rooted in Darkness, Guardians will wield this new elemental power alongside Arc, Solar, and Void to dominate the battlefield. Titans, Warlocks, and Hunters each use Stasis in a different way, from slowing down foes with Stasis fields to encasing and shattering enemies with destructive might.

    destiny 2 in an nutshell

destiny 2 has an great story whereas it's predecessor was lacking of with no ingenuity when it comes to story narrative where characters either have very little or don't have time to explain down to lazy and poor scriptwriting but had an very solid loot system and grimoire you have to read via bungey companion but the loot system in destiny 2 is very worse then the first only way you can get loot mostly by either grinding public events or grinding for tokens and how easy it became to get items that was badly criticised via content creators on youtube who are destiny one veterans from d1 and it's pandering to those who has very little time to play and its single use shaders that you can use at one time not like in d1 where you can reuse them all the time and the other lazy concept of interesting villain's that uses the same tired trope of it should be me who has all the powers not you and I am going to rob you of it and Frank Langella was wasted by playing the second fiddle character not the big bad like he did in the he-man movie from 87 lastly the raid in d2 is the most hated in destiny history my raiting 8/10.

Destiny Take Two: A wonderful Space Odyssey

In 2013, I saw concept art for a game that would become Destiny, and I was completely enthralled. The planets, the aliens, the gameplay, everything just looked so good. I waited patiently and followed the development of the game closely. And then I bought the game. After playing through the story quickly and eventually the 4 expansion packs, clearly it wasn't terrible, but it was missing something. It was missing emotion, humor, purpose and heart. But that's not what this review is about.

Enter Destiny 2. At first when I learned of it, I rolled my eyes and felt bad for Bungie, that they'd get lashed back against again. Even watching trailers for the game, it really didn't look that different then the first. But everything is changed.

Immediately after starting, the story already shows it's going to be great. Already stated on the plot summery(so no, this is not spoilers), a new villain cabal named Ghaul has come and wants the traveler. For retiring players, the first mission will definitely hit hard. Following is a long, complex story involving not only great characters from before, but new ones too. The story was perfect and I can't wait for expansion packs.

The game has also made life easier. Now you can access a map of your location whenever you want, and track places you wish to go to. Gameplay is fun and rare heroic public events and bosses pop up often -but not too often, giving opportunities to get some good gear. The maps are also massive, and very diverse.

The only thing to me that didn't get better or worse was the crucible. It felt the same, and lacked diversity of game modes. Even still, the crucible is quick, fast and fun, and still a hit.

Bungie knocked this game out of the park, and Destiny 2 has fixed the sins of the father. The future for Destiny 2 is bright, and I can't wait to see what comes next..

A Very Well Made Game That Holds Your Attention

Destiny 2 is the sequel to Destiny, the FPS made by Bungie Studios which received heavily mixed reviews. Some hated it, some loved it. Most agreed it was well made but lacked some important features, namely a coherent story. To some it scratched just the right itch that let then play it for years.

The story of Destiny 2 is a 6/10. Lasting about 15 hours for me and probably closer to 11 for someone else, it is pretty generic. Gaul, the leader of the alien race known as the Cabal, wants the powers provided to the players by a "Great Machine" known as the Traveler. He attacks the Last Safe City on Earth and captures the Traveler, ridding your player of powers. The rest of the story is you finding humanity's scattered heroes, reuniting them, and leading an assassination attempt against the Cabal. The story is told well enough and the dialogue ranges from cringe inducing to hysterical. What really makes the story is the well acted, well written, and interesting characters. Namely the former emperor of the Cabal, Calus, who was usurped by Gaul, and the megalomaniac himself. Gaul's voice is perfect and he is a thoroughly interesting bad guy. Calus is the exact opposite, where Gaul is militaristic, brutal, and conceited, Calus is opulent, indulging, and fun. It is quite a dichotomy I wish was explored more.

The design of this game is a 9/10 or 10/10. The gunplay is the best I have ever experienced, from the feedback of the guns to the enemy deaths, it is glorious and basically what supported the entire Vanilla first game. Many say that it is copy and pasted from the first Destiny, and to that I say who cares? If you found the best possible way to do something, why change it? There is the sound design, which is just fantastic. Each gun has a specific sound and exotics specifically sound unusual but perfect for how they play. The music is second to none. The worlds are just amazing, both in design and art. From the Vex world of Nessus clanging with alien robot activity and a giant spacewhale in the sky slowly consuming the planet to the stormy and ruinous moon Titan. My only gripe is that Titan's map feels too linear. Every gun, every enemy, every corner, every effect has been tailor made to feel amazing. For these reasons alone you should instantly discredit any review below a 6. Nor There is also plentiful stuff to do, from the lore filled Adventures to the epic cooperative strikes, to the addictive and skillful multiplayer to the end all- be all challenge: The Raid. There is easily weeks worth of content to do. I personally am 2 weeks into the game, doing the Raid and the premier pvp endgame: Trials of the Nine, and I still need to complete Adventures on every world.

What puts this game above the rest is the interactivity. You do not have to be alone in any part of Destiny, nor are you recommended to. Whether it is queuing up a 3 player strike or joining a clan or just screwing around with friends, this game is best served when you are playing with friends. It is hard to describe just why it is so great. But I assure you, it is.

All in all Destiny 2 is not perfect, but it is so fun and so full of things to do that I don't see putting it down any time soon. I now see what people with +1000 hours in the first game did. It is not for everyone, but I damn well hope it is for you.

When It Works, It's Incredible-But It Doesn't Always Work

Destiny 2 is a game that can go from exhilarating to frustrating in a matter of minutes. When it hits its stride-tight gunplay, intense raids, stunning visuals-it's one of the most satisfying shooters out there. But when it stumbles, it reminds you that it's an ongoing work-in-progress constantly fighting against its own design choices.

    Chapter 1: Top-Tier Gameplay

The core shooting mechanics are among the best in any FPS, period. Bungie knows how to make every weapon feel impactful, and every firefight feel smooth and dynamic. Movement is fluid, classes are fun to experiment with, and powers add just enough flavor to keep combat from ever feeling too repetitive. PvE strikes and raids are standouts-especially when played with friends.

Chapter 2: A World That Looks Better Than It Feels

Destiny 2's environments are gorgeous, from lush forests to glowing alien moons. But for all the visual polish, the open-world areas can feel surprisingly empty. The game wants to be a living universe, but often feels more like a theme park-you can go on the rides, but you're not really shaping the world.

Chapter 3: The Grind is Real

Progression can be a slog. Whether it's hunting for loot, leveling up gear, or chasing seasonal rewards, Destiny 2 often leans too hard into repetition. It's a game that demands time, and not always in rewarding ways. New content can be great, but it often comes with resets and convoluted systems that leave casual players behind.

    Final Thoughts

Destiny 2 is a game with sky-high highs and frustrating lows. It's beautiful, fun, and ambitious-but also uneven, overcomplicated, and occasionally exhausting. For fans willing to invest the time, there's plenty to love. For others, it may feel like more grind than glory.

    7/10 - A great shooter wrapped in a sometimes maddening live-service shell.

    Destiny 2

I really used to like this game in the OG days but when the campaign got removed and I got free they only cared about new players not the OG players its really a shame I use to like this game but not anymore even how beautiful the game is its super boring you can only play a campaign if you buy it the free stuff is just online to be honest I don't like destiny 2 anymore I hope they change things.
