The Tribe

This is a crazy and absurd comedy with sympathetic interpretations and spectacular set pieces . Fidel is a CEO (Paco León) from a company named ¡ Omnicron ¡ in the eye of the hurricane when, while he was having sex with his secretary on his office, they're suddenly trapped, unable to withdraw of her and this twisted incident is uploaded on internet , resulting in a video viral . Meanwhile , a cleaner woman (Carmen Machi) with vocational street dancer attempts to recover her long-stranded son that she gave for adoption , this one turns out to be Fidel himself . Missing from the public eye , and with no records , a year later Fidel decides to rebuild his life . And Virgina attempts to meet his biological son who gave him for adoption after his birth. Going to the hotel where Virginia works as cleaner woman to meet her in the bar, Fidel is bullied by a waiter (Julián López) who was a former intern of his own, causing his rage . In the hospital Virginia learns that Fidel suffers amnesia , and not knowing where he lives , Virginia decides take Fidel to her flat, where she lives with her two lazies and unemployed sons, Elton and Maikel who result to be Fidel's step-brothers (Artur Busquets, Manuel Huedo) . After that , Fidel is hired by his biological father (Luis Bermejo) to work at a supermarket , but things go wrong .

Pleasant and amusing Spanish comedy , being efficiently directed by expert comedian director Fernando Colomo . This comedy contains disconcerting situations , humor , entertainment , romance and including brief nudism . This is a slightly funny film with entertaining events , giggles , amusement and touching scenes at its final part . The film moves in fits and starts most of which would be desirable , with more traps the viewer resists any kind, and some moments of enjoyment and others quite a few embarrassing with plenty of absurdities and implausibilities . This is an unusual Colomo movie , this is a different comedy who does not have the content or significance of other Fernando Colomo movies such as ¨Linea Del Cielo¨ , ¨Efecto Mariposa¨ , ¨Al Sur de Granada¨and ¨Los Años Barbaros¨, but resulting to be a simple and plain entertainment . Stars Paco León who is pretty fine as a former CEO who lost everything, including his records due to his stormy past and Carmen Machi is very likeable as his cleaner mother , both of them test their dancing skills . There're also some charming musical numbers from Las Mamis ("The Mommies") , the musical group formed by Virginia/Carmen Machi and friends, along with Fidel/Paco León who show fun and spectacular choreographic spectacle and even participating in the TV talent show presented by Manel Fuentes.

It displays lively and appropriate musical score by Vicente Ortiz Gimeno . Furthermore , a colorful and brilliant cinematography by Ángel Iguácel. This charming and with plenty of misunderstandings motion picture was professionally written (along with expert comedian writers Yolanda García Serrano , Joaquín Oristrell ) and well directed Fernando Colomo . It got some prizes as Monte-Carlo Comedy Film Festival 2018 , Winner , Jury Prize Best Film : Fernando Colomo , Best Actress : Carmen Machi Fernando . Colomo was born in Madrid and is a talented and versatile writer/director who has made a vast array of often solid and entertaining films in all kind of genres as comedy, drama and one science fiction movie (1985 El caballero del Dragón) in a career that spans over 30 years . Especially known for directing comedies such as 1987 La Vida Alegre , 1988 Miss Caribe , 1989 Bajarse al Moro , 1993 Rosa Rosae , 1994 Alegre Ma Non Troppo , 1995 Efecto Mariposa . And in the 2000s directed Al Sur Granada (2003) , El Próximo Oriente (2006), Rivales (2008) , La Banda Picasso (2012) , and several others . Rating : 5.5/10 . Acceptable and passable.

The script on this great film needed more work and some pruning. The opening sequence was not only unheard of but wanted scrapped. It ruined this film, take this out and scrap the waiter pouring a drink over a customers head and remove the phony bus accident and you then have a great - great film with wonderful performances. The story line was confusing, contrived and weak. It should have been an once adopted at birth guy down on his luck, who decides to find and meet his unmarried birth-parents who run a supermarket, he joins them in their modest store is a genius at retailing and turns it into a business empire (another Walmart) aided by the star of the film Mirabel Del Paco (the incredible beautiful actress) whose after hours hobby is dancing and runnng a dance group. All this crazy talk about loss of memory, a man in hiding because he fired 300-workers and can dance also wanted scrapping along with the 2 lazy brothers (don't ask), whats left was the basis of a Miracle on 42nd Street with music and dancing. 10 out of 10 to the cast, producers, cameramen and prop-men, this film script needs to be remade and made into a Xmas release film, and have some children in it. I do like this film, and enjoyed it. Tahnk you.

Had no expectations but ended up laughing and really enjoyed it in the end. Was nice to see Badalona and Barcelona.. perfect place for a feel good movie !

The story is as outlandish as it gets, yet , because it's in the hands of the smart and legendary Spanish director Fernando Colomo, and a couple of incredible actors (Paco León+ Carmen Machi) the result is a very fun ride, with heart, that will tickle you and get your laughs for 90 minutes. And yes, it gets too sweet at the end, but the whole thing is not spoiled by that. Definitely a movie that keeps that Spanish comedic flavor so distinguishable in other renown directors like Luis Garcia Berlanga or Pedro Almodovar. You'll be left with a smile on your face after experiencing this.

I enjoyed the movie a lot, some parts were laughed out loud.
