- Kelly Severide: What'd he do?
- Trudy Platt: He got into a 'you shoulda seen the other guy' scenario with 3 off duty cops.
- Benny Severide: You *should* a seen the other guys.
- Randall McHolland: What's your plan with Lee Henry?
- Christopher Herrmann: Well, Cindy and I-- we got a meeting scheduled with the vice principal, and we're gonna, you know, discuss numbnuts's protest.
- Randall McHolland: What are you gonna say?
- Christopher Herrmann: I don't know. It's a family matter, and I'm gonna take care of it.
- Wallace Boden: That's good. Yeah. That's good.
- Christopher Herrmann: What?
- Wallace Boden: Sometimes, you let your emotions get the best of you. Maybe this time you listen more than you speak. Vice principal probably just wants to be heard.
- Christopher Herrmann: That's good advice, friend.
- Randall McHolland: Donuts.
- Christopher Herrmann: What?
- Randall McHolland: My advice is bring donuts.
- Christopher Herrmann: That's your advice for everything.
- Randall McHolland: Yeah. Because it works.
- Wallace Boden: True that.
- Christopher Herrmann: Hey guys, will you do me a favor?
- Randall McHolland: What is it?
- Christopher Herrmann: It doesn't matter what it is. You're my friends, will you do me a favor or not?
- Wallace Boden: I'm good.
- Randall McHolland: I need to know more details.
- Wallace Boden: No you don't.
- Randall McHolland: I'm good too.
- Gabriela Dawson: Rule number 1: every successful run ends with junk food. Come on. Ladyfinger? Rule number 2: take this job seriously when you have to, and that's it, otherwise, you won't last a year.
- Harris Thornton: I got to tell you: I thought I was gonna toss my breakfast back there.
- Sylvie Brett: Ugh, every new paramedic's worst nightmare.
- Gabriela Dawson: Is it?
- Sylvie Brett: Of course it is.
- Harris Thornton: My mom and dad-- they told me I wasn't cut out for this. They told me I wouldn't last a week.
- Sylvie Brett: Aww.
- Harris Thornton: "Supportive" isn't a word you'll hear at the Thornton house.
- Gabriela Dawson: So why are you here?
- Harris Thornton: I was in a bicycle accident when I was 12. These paramedics showed up, and I'm not sure if I'd be able to walk if it wasn't for them. I said to myself, "This is what I'm gonna do."
- Sylvie Brett: Well, you're gonna be a good one. I can already tell.
- [alarm blares]
- Emergency dispatch: Ambulance 61, man down from unknown causes.
- Gabriela Dawson: It's that kind of day.
- Harris Thornton: I appreciate you both standing up for me, but if I'm liable for the broken rib, then...
- Gabriela Dawson: No way. We've spent years in the union. I mean, we might get another ding on our magical files, but you've got your whole future ahead of you.
- Sylvie Brett: Yeah, you were just trying to do the right thing.
- Gabriela Dawson: Rule number 3: save lives first, worry about consequences later.
- Harris Thornton: Okay. Thank you. Both of you. I promise to live up to your expectations.
- Gabriela Dawson: Just live up to yours.
- Sylvie Brett: Yeah, we still have you for one more shift, right?
- Harris Thornton: Yes. See you Thursday.
- Christopher Herrmann: That Henry Lee is a really smart kid. Stupid as hell, but smart.
- [walks off]
- Stella Kidd: Did... did he hear what he said?
- Christopher Herrmann: Honey, what's up?
- Cindy Herrmann: Your son is getting suspended.
- Christopher Herrmann: I'm sorry. Come again?
- Cindy Herrmann: Lee Henry wouldn't say the pledge of allegiance at school today.
- Christopher Herrmann: What?
- Cindy Herrmann: What I said. Apparently, he decided to take a knee instead. I got a call from the vice principal and they said to come pick him up.
- Christopher Herrmann: Please drop him off here after you go get him.
- [Cindy nods and leaves]
- Christopher Herrmann: WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO?
- Matthew Casey: Chelsea? Chief, we're all clear here. Chelsea, we're here to help.
- Chelsea Stevens: You can't.
- Matthew Casey: I promise you we can. Your parents...
- Chelsea Stevens: You don't know anything about me!
- Matthew Casey: You're right, Chelsea. I don't. But she does.
- Chelsea Stevens: Mom? Dad?
- Mrs. Stevens: Yeah, baby, I'm here.
- Chelsea Stevens: You threw me out.
- Kent Stevens: We were wrong. I was wrong.
- Chelsea Stevens: You told me to leave!
- Stella Kidd: Chelsea, hey, listen to me. I have been where you're standing.
- Chelsea Stevens: No.
- Stella Kidd: It's true. I have. The only difference is my parents weren't alive to help me. But your mom came here the other day. She was so desperate to rescue you.
- Chelsea Stevens: [crying] You came here?
- Mrs. Stevens: Yeah, baby. I came to get you.
- Matthew Casey: Your mom and dad love you, Chelsea. They want to help. They need to help.
- Mrs. Stevens: And I will hold you in my arms the entire time if you'll let me, baby. I promise.
- Chelsea Stevens: [sobbing] I just want to be free.
- Mrs. Stevens: Shh, shh, shh, shh.
- Chelsea Stevens: I want, I want...
- [Mr. and Mrs. Stevens hug Chelsea]
- Mrs. Stevens: You're free, baby. It's okay. It's okay.
- Wallace Boden: Get some boards and seal off this place. Red-X it. Let CPD know it's officially condemned.
- Brian Zvonecek: Copy that, Chief.
