Wonderful documentary with gorgeous landscapes and impressive wildlife

Joaquín Gutiérrez Acha is a very good documentary filmmaker and I'm going to deal retrospectively with analyzing his previous film entitled ¨Cantábrico , the domains of the brown bear¨. A spectacular trip to the beautiful region of northern Spain , a real natural paradise . The Cantabrian mountain range acts as a great wall parallel to the Cantabrian sea of more than 400 kilometers, an environment full of forests and canyons, a paradise for the impressive brown bear.

More than 100,000 spectators have gone through the cinema to see this marvel that reveals to us the treasures that the Cantabrian mountain range and the Picos de Europa hide. A magical place in which thanks to the influence of the massive and the high rainfall has originated a vast vegetation , resulting to be the last refuge of a large number of animals . A kingdom of forests and horses save the land of the Iberian wolves and where fantasy and reality walk together . In the north of the Iberian Peninsula , an imposing mountain range of more than 400 km rises as a great barrier parallel to the coast of the sea that bears his name, the Cantabrian Sea . The Cantabrian is a magical and mysterious place where many of its corners are yet to be discovered . The warm influence of the sea has determined a climate with high rainfall , originating mountains of exuberant vegetation . On its other side, the Cantabrian mountain range is full of canyons and dense continental forests of beech, oak and chestnut trees.

The shots , the frames , are flawless and really spectacular . It is the kingdom of the forests, marvellously photographed by cameraman/directorJoaquín Gutiérrez Acha , showing the domain of wild animals , the land where the mists hide Iberian wolves , wild cats and grouse , the place where fantasy and reality walk together. A wild territory that is still forgotten and that the world must know .

It is the perfect place to hide a large number of animals and other forms of life that have lived here since time immemorial . We observe a variety of creatures , both large and small , as in this magnificent documentary appearing here and there the following ones : wildcats , javali , chamois (Rebecos) , fawns (cervatos) , ermine (armiño), Rat Topera , wolves hunting a deer ; birds : the nearly extinct grouse or capercaillie (urogallo) , jays (arrendajo) , plovers (Chorvas) , partridge (perdiz) . And plant or vegetable life such as : beech trees (Hayas) , birch (Abedul) , Oaks (roble) and carnivorous plants such as the drosera . And in the mighty rivers like the coming and going of salmon . But above all, it is the territory of one of the most formidable creatures in the northern hemisphere: the Cantabrian brown bear. And it is precisely this fabulous animal, one of the ones we have chosen to conduct this film .

The Spanish filmmaker Joaquín Gutiérrez Acha is the utter responsible to shoot this stunning documentary that took two years of filming to complete the movie , getting nominatation Cinema Writers Circle Awards, Spain 2021 : Nominee CEC Award Best Documentary Joaquín Gutiérrez Acha . And he's on the news for the recent premiere of ¨Dehesa , the forest of the Iberian lynx¨. He has directed other prestigious nature shorts and documentaries , such as : ¨Las montañas del lobo¨ (2003) , ¨Lince ibérico. El cazador solitario¨ (2004) and specially ¨Guadalquivir¨ (2013) .
