The Oscar-winning actress plays a mysterious character in Netflix’s new post-apocalyptic thriller.
The last time that Hilary Swank starred in a science fiction movie was 2003, when she played one of a team of scientists who drill deep into the Earth’s crust to save the planet in the rather out-to-lunch The Core. She’s back underground in I Am Mother, a decidedly more serious story in which she plays a mysterious character known only as Woman. Swank’s enigmatic interloper comes between a young girl named Daughter (Clara Rugaard) and an AI called Mother (voiced by Rose Byrne) when the girl lets Woman into the bunker in which she has been raised by Mother from an embryo.
The bunker, it turns out, is a repository for thousands of such embryos, stored there to restart the human race in the wake of an unknown global catastrophe. But...

Freeform has released two new TV spots for Marvel's upcoming series Cloak & Dagger. The spots are called "Poison" and "Justice" and focus on the anger that has been building up in the two main characters through the loved ones they've lost. There's a good amount of new footage as the "Devine Pair" takes justice into their own hands as they face the corrupt Roxxon Corporation. From what I've seen, I like how these characters are being handled in the series.
Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger is the story of Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph) – two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers which are mysteriously linked to one another. I don't care what anyone says, Marvel's upcoming Cloak & Dagger series looks like it will be a great show! In another effort to help sell audiences on the show, Freeform has released a new trailer and it might just be the best one yet. It offers some fantastic new footage and we get to see two main characters see some action as they team up with each other to stop the evil heading that is terrorizing New Orleans. I like these two characters. They have a great dynamic and so far I like what I've seen on how they are being portrayed in this series.

Hayley Atwell jumped at the opportunity to work on the miniseries “Howards End.” Written by “Manchester by the Sea’s” Kenneth Lonergan, “Howards End” is about as far away from Atwell’s previous roles as Peggy Carter in the Marvel TV series “Agent Carter” and as a lawyer in the courtroom drama “Conviction.” And judging by the comments Atwell has made about her time on those series, we now know why the actress hasn’t been interested in returning to TV until now.

Anson Mount has joined “Star Trek: Discovery” Season 2 in the role of Capt. Christopher Pike, Variety has learned.
Caution: spoilers ahead. In the closing moments of the first season finale of the CBS All Access series, the Discovery receives an emergency distress call from a nearby Federation starship. The ship turns out to be the USS Enterprise under Pike’s command.
Mount will be the fourth actor to portray Pike, who preceded James T. Kirk as the captain of the Enterprise. Jeffrey Hunter played the role in the original, unused “Star Trek: The Original Series” pilot, with footage from that episode later being repurposed in the two-part episode “The Menagerie.” Also in “The Menagerie,” Sean Kenney played an older–and the most iconic–version of Pike, confined to a brainwave-operated wheelchair and unable to communicate save for a blinking light. Finally, Bruce Greenwood played the character in the 2009 “Star Trek” reboot film and its sequel,...

Marvel has released another great new trailer for their upcoming Cloak & Dagger series. The new promo is called "Two Paths, One Destiny" and it follows the two main characters Tyrone (Aubrey Joseph) and Tandy (Olivia Holt) and shows us the very different lifestyles that they are living before a twist of fate brings them together. It also shows them experimenting with their mysterious powers. The promo offers us some great insight into who these characters are.
This series looks like it actually might turn out to be great and I'm excited about checking it out this summer. Have the trailers released so far sold you on the series?
