Near the end of this episode, with Jack upset over the outcome of the case, he discloses the health care information of one of the detectives of the unit. This would have been a violation of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, otherwise known as HIPPA. No attorney would risk a chargeable crime like that, one he can also be sued for by the person whose health information he made public.
At the end when they talk to the mother, she never says she understands her Miranda rights after they ask her, so her confession would not be admissible.
