The bad rating is deserved. They released a 50 % Gamr in 2018. A huge Mistake behind huge Expectations. 2 Years later the game is ready and nearly perfect for Coop Players. Great Storys and the Graphic is just amazing.
From the breathtaking scenes and excellent music to the epic fights you can have with people its a wonder why it isn't on the spotlight more often. I do have some complaints though, it feels sometimes that its hard to understand the game as you need to find stuff out yourself way too much and you can get bored really quick if you don't have someone to explain it but if you know what you are doing and know how the game works then it is as good as you could ever expect a pirate game to be.
Online players might be considered "toxic" but if you just be friendly to others most often they will have a good response. Don't forget this is a multiplayer game and you will meet some bad people but that shouldn't be blamed on the game but the people and their critical social behavior.
There are some bugs here and there but you often don't see them and my best recommendation for you is to research stuff about the game and learn from it since it will be 100 times more fun to know what you are doing and what you need to do.

Sea of Thieves can be breathtaking. Create your pirate and control him in a visually gorgeous game world, sail on your customized ship, explore remote atolls, duel with skeletons, face other crews and sea monsters.
You can play co-op with your friends online: that's a great experience. Maybe during a quiet journey you place yourself at the helm and your pal stands on the mast, watching the horizon with a spyglass; or, during a night expedition on an island, you dig for buried treasures while your companion opens fire on approaching enemies; even better, you struggle to recover a chest from a sinking ship while your pal rescues you from an approaching giant shark (true story!).
All this is supremely fun... although there is no real endgame, you keep repeating variations of the same missions to earn enough money and give your custom pirate nicer-looking items, weapons and ships. This should be just the beginning, the pillar on which to build a game with a story progression that goes beyond "let's get the coolest gear".
A source of irritation is how there are no dedicated servers without PvP (Player versus Player). This means other players will be out to rob and kill you and your team members; although conflict is not mandatory, it is the typical outcome of meeting people who are not part of your crew. Admittedly, this can be fun in itself, but the choice should have been left to the player, including servers where PvP was forbidden. This flaw is mitigated by two factors though. One, long-time players don't have significant advantages over newcomers other than skill and experience, meaning they will not be hideously overpowered since even expensive gear is just cosmetic, leveling the playing field. Two, maps are fairly large and meeting a hostile crew is not uncommon but not constant either.
Overall, sailing around with friends is great, although there is room for further improvement.

Played this game since launch, and never stopped since. However only now, with the amount of counted they added and lowered price, i feel safe recomending this game. One thing to remmber though, is that this is a PVP game, don't focus on PVE too much, have fun and never trust anyone.
Sea of Thieves invests you in its world immediately. With its exploration and Graphics it makes for an incredible first couple hours. The more you play Sea of Thieves, the more you find yourself bored sitting on a ship doing nothing. Eventually you see through the wonder of the first few hours, and at that point the game is no longer fun. All the loot is cosmetic and so there is hardly any reason to care when your ship sinks. Sea Monsters are the best aspect of this game as they offer a new type of boss fight different from the Bullet sponge skeleton bosses. However, the 2 Sea Monsters are uncommon to find and often come at the most annoying times. Sea of Thieves should be updated to have non cosmetic items and should be given more Sea Monsters and than perhaps the game could be slightly improved.
