Resident Advisors is a fun little show that can be binged in one night. There are only 7 episodes, and if you get the DVD, the show is edited into one long feature-length film (be advised Episode 5 isn't on the DVD for some reason). The show follows a group of College Resident Advisors. It's a quirky little comedy, but overall, it's pretty funny. The main characters are Oliva and Doug. The two have amazing chemistry and are super cute together. There are also a lot of fun guest stars such as Anna Camp, Elizabeth Banks, Kelley Jakle, and Jayma Mays. However, I will say that the episode with Anna Camp is a little too over the top for my tastes. But all in all, it is a fun little show with some cute characters.
This is an awesome show. I can't wait for a season 2! This show has an amazing cast with great chemistry! Watch this if you want to laugh, smile, and just have a good old time. They have fun stories and it's written from the same people that did Pitch Perfect, so it's cool to see a list of actors from the movie. The writing of the show is well done. I really like all the humor and jokes they do. We watched all the episodes in two days because it was really good. This is one of my new favorite shows on Hulu! I also love the names of the characters too. I look forward to more laughs with these characters. Seriously, go watch it! It's awesome!
Resident Advisors is a fun, "Community" and "Animal House" like comedy staring Jamie Chung and Ryan Hansen. The formula is simple yet funny dealing with a bunch of college R.A.s getting into all sorts of hijinks with the students. The beautiful and talented Jamie Chung gets to show off more of her comedy side. Ryan Hansen plays a "Van Wilder" type character with a sharp sense of humor and fun banter which is a nice change from other roles he's previously had, such as Friday the 13th (2009) and Superhero Movie (2008) where he usually only has a few lines of dialog. Other stars which stand out were Alison Rich, with her wacky style of comedy, and Daryl Sabara, of which is all grown up from his Spy Kids days. Enjoy and binge watch like I did.
I graduated from ........ ....... University 2 years ago. This show brought back so many wonderful memories of my college years! The show is similar to what I experienced living in the dorms/campus apartments (all 4 years). Overall it is a great show!!!!!! I just wish there were more episodes. Some scenes do go a little bit overboard, however it was relatively close to what I experienced. (I smoked and drank with my RA, I even housed a litter of puppies in my dorm/apt room for a month!) My college friends and boyfriend all found this show hilarious and entertaining. My sister will be attending college in August and I have told her to watch this show as well. I will use it as a guide for her on what to expect and what not to expect!
I was excited to see the appearance of this show on Hulu. I immediately thought of shows like Undeclared and the National Lampoon's college movies. I watched all of it within a couple of days and it got a bit better with time. At first I didn't think it was all that funny and there were only a few laugh out loud moments. But I like the main cast, including the newcomers enough to hope for a second season. The writing wasn't very original but it still kept my attention. 7 episodes seemed like enough and if you watch all of them the back story from previous episodes pays off in the final episode. To Micah the one star reviewer: It sounds like you were expecting a documentary from a fictional comedy show. I got quite a laugh and felt a bit bad at the same time. Seeing that you watch a comedy series about resident advisors and expect it to be strictly by the book made me wonder what else you may have given poor reviews based on lack of authenticity. Of course they weren't writing this with a true story in mind. It wouldn't have been funny in the slightest. At first I thought you were joking until I continued reading. Do all fictional comedies enrage you? Especially the ones about college? I sure hope not because that seems really sad.
