Walton Goggins, the ghoulish antihero of Prime Video's Fallout series, has become an unexpected sex symbol with the show's success.
Undoubtedly, the reason is the character of Ghoul. Goggins combines a hardened survivalist's anarchic mind with a Hollywood cowboy's rustic stoicism.
He feels like Ronald Reagan channeling John Wayne, like a man at the end of his days who sticks around for one more horseback ride.
The resignation in his attitude drives his character, not to mention the characters around him who react to his infamy and monstrous appearance. He's the new face of anarchy and arguably the first mainstream character to embody the spirit of anarchy with such a genteel facade.
You must be in love with Cooper Howard, aka The Ghoul, because you've seen Walton Goggin's face many times.
He's been in countless movies since the 1990s, usually playing morally confused or at least ambiguous characters. He has...

French filmmaker Julia Ducournau has established herself as a true genre visionary with her first two movies, first the cannibal film Raw (2016) and then the wild Titane in 2021.
Up next from Ducournau is a mysterious movie titled Alpha, and though we don’t have any plot details at this time, we’re at least *hoping* it’s something of a genre picture.
“FilmNation and Charades are presenting the project in Cannes,” Variety reports.
Golshifteh Farahani (The Patience Stone) and Tahar Rahim (“The Serpent”) will star.

FilmNation and Charades are teaming up to present “Alpha,” the new film from Julia Ducournau, to buyers at Cannes.
It’s the same place where Ducournau caused a sensation with 2021’s “Titane,” her subversive and divisive body horror film, which won the Palme d’Or, the festival’s top award. Ducournau became the second female director to win the award, following Jane Campion (“The Piano”). “Anatomy of a Fall” director Justine Triet would become the third female winner in 2023. Ducournau’s other films include 2016’s “Raw,” a coming-of-age film about a young vegetarian who develops a taste for cannibalism.
“Alpha’s” cast includes Golshifteh Farahani, who appeared in “The Patience Stone” and “Paterson,” as well as César award-winning Tahar Rahim, best known for his work in “The Mauritanian,” “A Prophet” and “The Serpent.”

Dev Patel refused to let the slew of injuries he suffered while filming his elaborate fight scenes in “Monkey Man” get in the way of him completing the movie.
Patel not only directed and co-wrote the action movie, but he also stars as Kid, a young man who seeks to avenge his mother’s death at the hands of India’s corrupt law enforcement officials, political figures and spiritual leaders. As we’re now deep into the middle of the first quarter of the “cinema year” of 2024, here comes yet another horror thriller creeping into the multiplexes. And just what sets this one apart from the other “spook-taculars”? Well, it does concern a disparate group of chiller flick tropes all fighting for survival as their companions are picked off “one by one”. Not unique, but this one’s setting is very different. This story takes place on the desolate landscape of this planet over 45,000 years ago. And no, in case you’re wondering, CGI-created kajiu aren’t the culprits. But something strange and weird is roaming about, an entity or creature (perhaps plural) that’s stalking this group, then striking from Out Of Darkness.

IndieGala has been plugging away at their Survival Horror game Vorax for a while now. And with Steam Next Fest right around the corner, the team has dropped a preview highlighting the upcoming 0.7 Next Fest update for Vorax, which is heading towards an Early Access release later this year on Steam.
According to the team, the update revamps many of the locations in the game, with the focus being on the caves and the monsters residing inside. “Drenched” in mutagenic tissue, the caves function as nests and hatcheries for these creatures, which happen to be larger and stronger than the foes you’d normally encounter on the island.
The update will be included in a new demo for Steam Next Fest, along with the open Alpha for Vorax. The demo will be limited to one square kilometer, as opposed to the final game’s 10 square kilometres.

"In the jungle, she's a 'beta.' But out here, she's an 'alpha.'" Gravitas Ventures + Iconic Events have unveiled the first official trailer for Slotherhouse, the hilariously fun new slasher horror film featuring a killer sloth. Yes, seriously, it's real – and amazing. It's described as a "delightfully over-the-top and movie about a sloth that goes on a killing spree in a sorority..." In the spirit of M3GAN, Cocaine Bear, and the Chucky / Child's Play series, though I'd reckon it's more like Gremlins or Critters. Emily Young wants to be elected as her sorority's president. She adopts a cute sloth, thinking it can become the new mascot and help her win, until a string of fatalities implicate the sloth as the main suspect in the murders. It's time to meet Alpha the Killer Sloth. Starring Lisa Ambalavanar, Sydney Craven, Olivia Rouyre, Bianca Beckles-Rose, Andrew Horton, Sutter Nolan, and Grace Patterson.

The queen of BimboTok is back with a banger. On Friday, Chrissy Chlapecka released the colorful video for her song “Brat,” inspired by the iconic makeover scenes in the best Nineties movies, and featuring drag queens Sugar and Spice.

The made-for-tv movie was a programming staple for the broadcast networks in the 1970s and 1980s. While it fell out of favor in the 1990s and was even dropped as an Emmy Awards category for three years beginning in 2011, it has been on an upswing as of late. This year, a whopping 61 telefilms are in contention for the five nominations that will be revealed on July 12. Last year, there were only 48 options, compared to 41 in 2021 and 28 in 2020.
All 20,000 plus voting members of the TV academy have until June 26 to cast their 2023 Emmy Awards nominations ballots for their favorite TV movies. A new rule change will require each voter to make no more than five selections in this category, whereas there was previously no limit. As opposed to the Oscars, voters for the Emmys do not rank their choices and nominees are determined by a simple tally.

Exclusive: While the title character ended John Wick: Chapter 4 under a headstone, the John Wick franchise is alive and kicking for Lionsgate. This week, Lionsgate brass got a first look at Ballerina, its Len Wiseman-helmed spinoff film that stars Ana de Armas and brings back Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane, the late Lance Reddick and Anjelica Huston. The big question is, after the last film grossed over $400 million on a $90 million budget, what right minded studio would retire a franchise that just turned in its highest gross and best reviews?
Basil Iwanyk has produced the series since the beginning, and he told Deadline that a lot more will be known by September. That’s when director Chad Stahelski and star Keanu Reeves head to Japan where, Iwanyk said, they will split a couple bottles of whiskey. “Once they get through their hangovers, if Keanu and Chad have figured out something cool,...
