I saw this film at the Film Fest Ghent 2014, where it was part of the official Competition section. Venue with 600 seats was reasonably filled but not sold out, the latter possibly caused by the announcement of explicit gay sex scenes in full view, which usually holds people back from buying tickets. The plot is unusual, the developments are unusual, and ditto can be said about the conclusion. Yet, nothing of this is far-fetched. The protagonists are not extreme in any way, just normal human beings with normal deficiencies and normal reactions towards other people.
Several sub-plots are added to clarify what our three protagonists expect from life and what they think they need to improve their existence. Eventually, not everything works out as ideally assumed based on the ingredients (two men, one woman). But that is precisely what makes this film heart warming, augmented with some humor to lighten the tone, and filled with sympathetic characters.
The final Q&A was conducted in french with only a few sentences translated, so went past me for the greater part. All in all, I was very satisfied with the final product, and could do nothing else than giving the maximum score for the audience award when leaving the theater.
