Bad ending
gugutza-5683020 April 2024
Weak, weak, weak! I went because of Teambuilding and for Micutzu. Hours and money lost, without any satisfaction. Someone said it would be a New Year's Eve skit - what a 90-minute skit??? This could be a play of max 30 min, and the maximum age allowed: 18 years. Romanians: don't make filler movies, it's better not to do anything, let others do it!!!

I feel sorry for the team, I understand that they worked a lot, I understand that they really wanted something good, but they didn't succeed, I think it's the most boring Romanian film seen in the last 2 years.

I'm surprised by the fact that some people you throw in a room are super funny, but they didn't manage to make an ok movie. 2-3 funny phases in the rest, the feminization of the man, the absurd censorship, a long time dead. I don't recommend it.

Don't bother. They start making movies by the dozen.

Movie is weak because the script is weak. Characters poorly written, lacking action, it feels like the production happened based on: "let's make a movie" instead of "we have an idea for a movie, let's try and shape that into a real thing".

It is a chamber piece, everything happens in the same location and this, to me, makes the movie really static and boring. It is like a cheap theater play. Mostly situational comedy where the said situations seem extremely forced.

I cannot comment on the actors' performance, because I'm sure it must have been hell to try and shine while playing those poorly written characters, but the result was disastrous. MCN had the only nearly decent character-acting combo.

Was not expecting much so i was impressed
raresbucur-5795230 January 2024
Picked up the movie in front of the counter on a CineTuesday and was not expecting much from it as the previous movies made by Romanian producers were all disappointing.

This one was different, cheeky but fun . I picked it up only because i saw Adrian Nicolae on the poster, and it was a good decision. Saw Adrian on a few theater plays and was expecting a good act but he really went beyond he's normal confort zone this time. Not a blockbuster but definitely something special for the ''new avantgarde'' . Loved the fact that they have played a Romanian hit song at the end of the movie , really cool pick . Way to go guys, there is still work to be done but you are on the track. GG.

No low hanging fruit

Warning: Spoilers
It's a rare thing, coming across a Romanian comedy that actually delivers good quality comedy with no low hanging fruit. There's no swearing in this, no cheap nudity, no mention of communists or corruption which I'm personally fed up with when it comes to local films. The movie is refreshingly self-aware at times, poking fun at its own existence in the grand landscape of Romanian cinema and its questionable reputation. You could swap this for any language and still have a great time and that's how you know you have a solid flick on your hands. Nedelcu & Nicolae's chemistry is on point, but the stand outs for me were Victoria Raileanu and Madalina Craiu who are crazy likeable without even trying. Female rage is done so well here. Another big up for Rolando Matsangos who is a total scene stealer. There's something theater-esque about it, the single location, the heightened performances, the verbose dialogue, but it never feels overwhelming or boring- a credit to the director. I expected a more in depth conclusion with the loan shark debacle. The entire movie rests on it but he's in it for only a few seconds, I could tell the scene was shaved off during editing. The movie rushes to the ending for no reason, almost like it's scared to overstay its welcome. For that reason alone, I shaved off some points. Can't believe I'm saying this but I'd actually love a sequel!

Great movie
ediagapie17 April 2024
I love Cosmin Nedelcu in any role he might play, but this time he has outdone himself. This movie is beautiful, it's funny, it's cute, it has a cute story and is altogether a great movie to watch. I think this is the most qualitative romanian movie i have ever seen. There is no mention of communists, corruption or any other stereotype that other movies rely on. The fact that the entire movie is based in a single location and it keeps you engaged is also something to be applauded. If i'm correct, i believe they also tried to adopt Guy Ritchie's style with some shots and story elements. Not an oscar movie of course, but a great romanian movie for sure! I'm still smiling 😀

CUTE FREAKING MOVIE
ancairoaie18 April 2024
Omg I just got the pun regarding swearing and dirty words and it got me a bit excited. Love how you answered to previous backlash.

The main characters do some very good acting and I was also happy to see more of Carol Ionescu. Dragulin was a familiar face in a familiar role, but he did an amazing job, as usual. I would like to see him in other postures on future ocasions, too.

We smiled and laughed throughout the entire movie. A really nice comedy. Smart jokes, good acting and smart script. It is obvious how much work you put into writing this one and I think it's one of the best Romanian comedies so far. Totally enjoyed it!

Witty basic comedy
maskygen25 April 2024
This was good main stream comedy, considering what idiotic films Vidra production or whatever is called has thrown in the last 2 years.

First I enjoyed the writing, it's comedy for the masses, but if respects itself and the audience. And it's actually the first time I have seen a masonic joke in Romanian movies, and it should be more often, because it's and endemic disease in our society and especially in our cinematographic business.

The acting, was acceptable to good for this kind of movie, the directing while was trying and a little bit original ... was all over the place. For me, you have to choose a theme, what you want your movie to be. You want it a romantic parody, you want it a western, you want it musical .. just choose, because if you don't it's shaorma with everything, which is tasty if you are drunk but you never remember it the next day.

And lastly, nudity and bad language used correctly are acceptable, we don't need to make a theme about it.

Anyways, good movie and kudos for the people who made it, it was a good watch.
