The CW has released its fall schedule, and somewhat surprisingly, Whose Line Is It Anyway? is on it. The comedy series has been a staple on the network for a long time but it was reportedly coming to an end this season. Now, it's been renewed for a 21st season (the 13th on The CW). What happened?
A comedy improv series, the Whose Line Is It Anyway? TV show is hosted by Aisha Tyler. Each episode typically features show veterans Mochrie, Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady, and a guest performer. The foursome tests their comedic reflexes by participating in spontaneous improv games. After each round, Tyler doles out points to the performers, and she then declares a winner at the end of every episode (not that the points matter). Guests in season 20 (the 12th on The CW) include...

While many people have joked about the quality of production at The CW, the network has become home to many beloved television series. From Supernatural to The Vampire Diaries to the entirety of the DC Universe shows, everyone fell in love with at least one of them.
Sadly, that era is now over. However, the future still looks bright for The CW's 2024/2025 broadcast season. And even though the majority of scripted series have yet to be renewed, there are plenty of shows on the schedule to get excited about.

The CW’s fall schedule includes a number of new unscripted series such as a game show night on Mondays with Trivial Pursuit and Scrabble as well as the return of Whose Line Is It Anyway?
But there was no room for one of the network’s longest-running hits, Penn & Teller: Fool Us.
Much like in scripted, The CW has a number of decisions to make and the return of the magic competition series is one of them.
The show has run for ten seasons and more than 150 episodes since launching 2011. Its tenth season premiered in October and recently wrapped a 20-episode order.
The CW President of Entertainment Brad Schwartz told Deadline that it has the fourth quarter “locked”. “If there is a new season of Penn & Teller, that’ll be top of 2025,” he said.

Wayne Brady is known for his wacky and sometimes wild improv segments on Whose Line Is It Anyway?, which often helps him at other gigs.
One of those other gigs is the popular game show Let’s Make a Deal, which has Brady as the host.
He recently experienced a bizarre exchange with a contestant on the show who said she would “slap” him.
Brady was asking for it, though, as he said he wanted to try some “choreography” with the woman.
The result was the woman telling him, “I’m so sorry,” and Brady acted like he was in pain.
The recent game show highlight arrived after a Drew Carey highlight from The Price Is Right featured him accidentally slapping a contestant’s face.
Let’s Make a Deal contestant asked Brady, ‘Do you want to fight me?’

The talented Wayne Brady will appear in an iconic role this month as he suits up for his latest adventure in entertainment.
Brady, best known for hosting TV’s Let’s Make a Deal, and his improv comedy skills on Whose Line Is It Anyway?, has also had plenty of unique roles on stage.
Now, he will appear in the Tony Award-winning musical The Wiz as the title character.
He recently addressed what it’s like to take on that role as he admired a larger-than-life image of himself as the character.
“Does it really sink in when you see your face on the wall?” CBS Sunday Morning’s interviewer asked him.
“I think it sinks in. This never gets old,” he admitted, adding, “I mean, come on. It’s my big old head on Broadway.”

A Let’s Make a Deal contestant got a bit handsy while contemplating an offer for another prize.
During a recent segment on the show, Wayne Brady was on stage wearing a mustache as he presented a game for prizes.
The pair of contestants had to write down either “TV” or “Camp” on white cards to see if their answers matched to win a prize.
When Brady asked them to reveal their cards, the buzzer sounded as they each had a different answer.
“Oh no. Oh, my goodness. Well, that was not a match,” Brady said before asking each of them to explain why they answered the way they did.
“Because I like TVs,” the woman said after the guy said he wrote camping because he was “going camping tomorrow” and has a lot of TVs.

Wayne Brady is known for his improv skills on Whose Line Is It Anyway? and for enticing contestants with better offers on Let’s Make a Deal.
He also shows his talents in a touring production of the classic musical, The Wiz.
The 51-year-old recently revealed several other wild jobs he had before television and is now featured as the host of an intriguing group experiment.
While contestants can receive cash prizes for those deals, Pay Progress Forward relies on a group’s generosity to determine whether they win.
A new YouTube video begins with the notion that many Americans live “paycheck to paycheck.”
However, the financial technology company Chime believes its experiment will show that struggling individuals want to help others in addition to themselves.

Before making it big on television, Wayne Brady worked his way up with several unique jobs.
Interestingly, those jobs involved characters he played, which helped prepare him for future gigs like Whose Line Is It Anyway? and other roles.
During his appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Brady was asked about those early jobs, including one involving some iconic heroes.
“A lot of theater, but I was a Black Power Ranger- not the Black Power Ranger, that’s a gentleman named Walter,” he shared.
Brady indicated he was a “knockoff Power Ranger” working at kids’ parties, but it didn’t go well.

Actor and comedian Drew Carey went on an impressive journey to improve his health, which included losing 1,000 pounds over the years.
The Price is Right host recently revealed that he used to live an unhealthy and unhappy life following his appearances on the popular game show.
“I would go out to Swingers diner after The Price Is Right my first year, get a plate of pasta, a cupcake and iced tea with a bunch of lemons,” Carey shared in an upcoming People magazine story.
It didn’t stop there, though, as he also revealed he would “have Doritos and several Pepsis, and take an Ambien to go to sleep” at home.
Carey told the publication, “It was miserable” to live in that manner.
However, the 65-year-old show host began to take his health seriously, even reversing his Type 2 diabetes diagnosis.

The CW is officially in the Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit business, closing deals on a pair of game shows based on the classic board games.
Both have been in the works for some time; Deadline reported on Trivial Pursuit being in the works last summer. The CW declined comment Wednesday, but an official announcement is expected shortly.
Both game shows come from Hasbro Entertainment; Lionsgate Alternative Entertainment, which acquired the eOne assets from Hasbro last year; and The CW. Scrabble is also produced by Mattel Television Studios.
There are no hosts attached to either project, but LeVar Burton previously had been attached to the Trivial Pursuit adaptation.
Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit are the latest unscripted orders from The CW’s reality chief Heather Olander, who last year told Deadline she was looking to launch a game show with “some IP along with it.”

Nice try, CW.
Season 3 of FBoy Island debuted on Monday, and another trio of women are setting out to find the Nice Guy in a sea of “manipulative douche-baggery,” as host Nikki Glaser so eloquently put it. But, audiences don’t appear to be taking note.
The reality format, which was scooped up by The CW after being canceled at Max following the first two seasons, aired to pretty abysmal ratings during primetime.
An average of about 158,000 people tuned in across the two-hour premiere, which also flatlined with a 0.02 rating among adults 18-49, according to live+same-day Nielsen data.
It’s not exactly a surprise that FBoy Island isn’t starting off as a hit for the network, whose parent company Nexstar has repeatedly stressed that the average CW viewer is 58 years old — which was also used partially as the justification for canceling nearly all of its young adult-focused scripted series last year.
