Chris Pratt Shares Devastating Death Of ‘Friend’
Whenever one loses a friend, it is very hard to come to terms with the idea that this person is gone. Or, that they will never see them again. Chris Pratt has worked on numerous television shows and movies, making countless friends along the way. Since some of his movies require extreme physical activity, he will occasionally have a stuntperson, not that he is not in amazing shape. One of them was Tony McFarr who worked with Chris on a handful of films, including Jurassic Park. Sadly,...

MCU has quite a slate of movies coming up, even though Marvel Studios has hit a rough patch with the last couple of projects. There have been talks about releasing fewer projects, as fans are definitely becoming tired of shows and movies of lower quality; still, if one character always managed to drag people to movies, it’s Spider-Man, by far the most profitable Marvel franchise, no matter the product you’re looking at.
Several months ago it was confirmed that ‘Spider-Man 4’ is in active development, at first rumors were circulating that Watts would return to direct it, but he ultimately moved on to other projects, just like Drew Goddard and Justin Lin.
Now the latest rumors pointed in the direction of Sam Raimi directing the upcoming MCU installment, and according to MyTimeToShineHello, the studio is also interested in James Wan.

Cash Out opens with Mason Goddard and his crew stealing an outrageously expensive supercar as what he intends to be his last heist. Things don’t go as planned however as one of them, his girlfriend Amelia no less, is an undercover FBI agent. He barely escapes, and since he was already planning to retire, takes it one step further, he fakes his death and drops out of sight.
Three months later, his brother Shawn drops by trying to interest him in coming out of retirement for one more job. That doesn’t work, but when another member of the crew, Link calls he’s packing and on his way to the airport.
The next thing we know, Mason and Shawn are kidnapping a bank manager and the plan is in motion.

Kevin Costner starred as an escaped convict who takes a boy hostage in Clint Eastwood’s 1993 film, A Perfect World. Eastwood was given the script right after his Oscar-winning film Unforgiven. He intended to take a break from the double duty of directing and acting, however, Costner convinced him to play the role of Texas Ranger Red Garnett. Interestingly, Costner and Eastwood did not see eye to eye on many of the creative decisions in the film.

A Perfect World was initially pitched to Steven Spielberg, who had to turn down the project as he was busy with Jurassic Park. When Eastwood was onboarded as the director, he initially wanted Denzel Washington to play the role of the escaped convict Butch in the film.

John Carpenter's "Escape From New York" is a cult classic for a reason — it rules. Released in 1981, "Escape From New York" is a down-and-dirty sci-fi action pic in which New York City has become a giant maximum security prison. As bad luck would have it, an attempted hijacking of Air Force One forces the President (Donald Pleasence) to eject from the plane in an escape pod. Guess where he ends up? Yep — NYC, baby! The Big Apple! The militarized government wants to save the President and retrieve a top-secret briefcase he has cuffed to his wrist, but New York is too dangerous to simply enter for your average rescue mission. So the powers-that-be strike upon a simple plan: they force criminal Snake Plissken (Kurt Russell) into doing the job.

Dwayne Johnson is not only one of the most talented actors in Hollywood but also one of the highest-paid ones. It is known that any franchise or movie starring the actor will be highly entertaining even if it is not a masterpiece like some of his other movies. This is the reason why he has turned out to be one of the most bankable stars in Hollywood.
Over the years, Johnson has gained the reputation of an action star. This persona suits him well, thanks to his buffed-up appearance and wrestling background. He began his acting career when he was still wrestling and started acting in earnest when he was away from WWE with the 2001 movie The Mummy Returns. Professional wrestler, Ronda Rousey, has starred in quite a few gripping Hollywood projects, including Fast & Furious 7 as Kara. The Fast and Furious franchise has featured some pretty big stars since the early days of the street racing crew stealing TV/Vcr combos. Check out the later entries and you’ll see Kurt Russell, Charlize Theron, Helen Mirren, and plenty of others. But one action favorite who won’t be getting behind the wheel is Jean-Claude Van Damme, who claims that he hit a big, bad, bald roadblock when approached about joining the Fast and Furious franchise.

Although today we think of the "Fast and Furious" movies as a massively successful, popular franchise, it's worth remembering that its roots were fairly humble. The 2001 movie "The Fast and the Furious" was mostly small-scale and self-contained, focusing almost entirely on Paul Walker's Brian, who works as an undercover cop and discovers an unlikely friendship with the noble criminal Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel). The movie enjoyed a good (but not amazing) box office performance and received less-than-stellar reviews. Odds were, it would probably get one or two sequels max before it faded into irrelevancy.
But even before critics started bashing the movie for being "'Rebel Without a Cause' without a cause," there were still plenty of reasons for the relatively unknown Paul Walker to be concerned about the project. When he first signed onto it in 1998, "The Fast and the Furious" didn't even have a screenplay, and...

It’s the most wonderful time of year, when movie studios release their big end of the year blockbuster films and their small prestige pictures vying for Oscar glory. Only problem is: this year Santa seems to be delivering a big lump of coal to the box office as the end of year box office relies heavily on a franchise that has completely crashed and burned throughout 2023.
That’s right, this year we don’t have any Avatar: The Way of Water or Spider-Man: No Way Home or Jumanji: the Next Level or Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. No, this years Holiday box office fate rides pretty heavily on the final film in the DC Extended Universe, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Granted, this is the DC film that has the biggest shot at success as the first film is the highest grossing DC film of all time with a worldwide take of $1.15 Billion.

The first "Aquaman" was a huge surprise, a movie that made Aquaman gritty and serious but also goofy and funny. Sure, the movie had a very generic plot, but it shined when it went full bonkers, like when Julie Andrews voiced a sea monster, or when the film played a Pitbull cover of Toto's "Africa" during a scene where Aquaman heads to the Sahara desert.
"Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom" has glimpses of that greatness when its core adventure finally gets going, but we have to slog through some stuff before that. The opening minutes in particular don't do a good job of selling this movie, with a montage of Arthur Curry taking care of his newborn son while also kicking ass as Aquaman, while at the same time also being rather bored at his job as King of Atlantis. It is a montage that screams last-minute reshoot, with...

Right after the huge success of "Wonder Woman" but also the horrible, awful, franchise-ending "Justice League," the first "Aquaman" was a pleasant surprise. James Wan's second superhero movie ("Furious 7" features as many if not more acts of superheroism) felt like a fresh jolt of energy, featuring an octopus that plays drums, Julie Andrews as a monster, and the masterpiece that is Pitbull's cover of Toto's "Africa." This is a pure James Wan joint, one that features a terrifying horror scene with deep-sea monsters. And it was a bonafide hit, becoming the highest-grossing Dceu movie.
Before the Dceu officially ends with the release of "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom," /Film's own Jacob Hall talked to director James Wan about the making of the film, and why Wan was never interested in making a realistic take on the character. "I had to embrace the quirkiest side of this world,...

The common thread that unites all James Wan movies is sincerity. The director of modern horror classics like "Saw," "Insidious," and "The Conjuring," blockbuster behemoths like "Furious 7" and "Aquaman," and beloved cult items like "Dead Silence" and "Malignant" doesn't allow a single shred of snark or cynicism into his movies. Even his horror movies wear their hearts on their sleeves, which means this is doubly true for his bigger movies aimed at a massive worldwide audience. The first "Aquaman" made over a billion bucks by staying true to its goofball nature. In troubled times, it's clear audiences are buying Wan's particular brand of earnestness.
Wan's latest film, "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom," opens in theaters this week, and I had the opportunity to sit down with the filmmaker over Zoom to chat all about it. We talked about drumming octopuses and how the world of "Aquaman" carries the...

James Wan took us into The Further when he directed the first two Insidious films a decade ago, now he’s set to take us… nowhere. Deadline reports that Wan’s production company Atomic Monster is behind an NBC series called Nowhere, which comes from Siberia and Emerald City creator Matthew Arnold. Arnold serves as creator, executive producer, and showrunner on the show, which is currently in development.
In addition to Atomic Monster, Vertigo Entertainment, Room 101, and Antihero Entertainment also have a hand in the development of Nowhere. Wan will be executive producing with Rob Hackett and Michael Clear for Atomic Monster, while Natalie Viscuso and Roy Lee executive produce for Vertigo, Steve Schneider executive produces for Room 101, and Aengus McLoone does the same for Antihero Entertainment. Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, is the studio.

Over-the-top action sequences. Bone-crunching fights between titans of the action genre. A popular horror director getting his chance to make a massive-budget blockbuster. Fast & Furious 7 (watch it Here) brings all of those elements to the table. But it’s primarily remembered for being a production that was disrupted by tragedy. And we’re going to look into how it all played out in this episode of Revisited.
Universal Pictures doesn’t have a lot of major blockbuster franchises. In 2012, Jurassic Park had been dormant for a decade and the Bourne Identity movies had lost Jason Bourne. So they really only had Fast and Furious. It makes sense that while they were sending the sixth movie out into the world,...

James Wan is currently doing the press rounds for his latest film, the superhero sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (you can read our interview with him on the Aquaman 2 subject Here), but during a conversation with the folks at Collider he indicated that he may be returning to horror for his next project.
Of course, Wan got into the entertainment industry with horror, directing the franchise starter Saw as his first feature. Since then, he has directed several more horror films and started a couple more franchises in the process: Dead Silence, Insidious, The Conjuring, Insidious: Chapter 2, The Conjuring 2, and Malignant. He also branched out into revenge thriller territory with Death Sentence and directed the blockbusters Furious 7 and Aquaman.

The "Fast & Furious" saga is some of the most fun you can have with a movie franchise. Where most Hollywood properties make empty promises about diversity and inclusiveness, this is a franchise so diverse it actually just makes every actor in Hollywood Latino whether they want to be or not (in a good way). Sure, on the surface they seem like silly movies about cars and scantily-clad women looking at cars, but it is that -- and so much more.
Part of the ridiculous allure of this franchise is how earnest it is. The theme of family is more than a meme, it's the movie series' driving force. And then there's the nonsensical timeline and naming conventions for these films, which make them a hilarious puzzle to try and figure out. The timeline circles back on a whim, constantly re-contextualizing previous events and introducing and reintroducing characters and plot...

This month marks the 10th anniversary of the untimely death of Paul Walker in a car accident. And while tributes poured in upon the tragic news and his Fast and the Furious character was given a touching sendoff in Furious 7, the real legacy may be within the family, as one of his surviving brothers has said daughter Meadow has “grabbed the torch” from him.
Speaking with People, Paul Walker’s brother, Cody – who, along with Caleb Walker, stood in as doubles to help Furious 7 wrap – said that Walker undoubtedly lives on through his daughter, Meadow. “She’s pursuing a career that’s extremely difficult, but she’s finding her own way and she’s landing success, and he’d be so proud of her.” He added that if he could tell his brother anything, he would say, “I’d want him to know that she has just grown...

Could James Wan’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom snap the Hollywood studios’ box-office losing streak in China? Film buffs and analysts will soon find out. The Warner Bros. and DC Studios superhero sequel has been set for release on Dec. 20, two days before it opens in North America, according to mainland Chinese news sites on Tuesday.
The original Aquaman (2018), starring Jason Momoa in the title role, became a phenomenon in China, opening to $93 million and eventually totaling $291.8 million. The film still stands as the highest-grossing DC movie of all time, with $1.148 billion at the global box office. But U.S. franchise films — and superhero sequels in particular — have been on the wane in China since the pandemic. Two weekends ago, Disney’s The Marvels opened in second place with just $11.5 million, an all-time low for an MCU opening weekend in China. Earlier this year, DC’s Shazam! Fury of the Gods...

Aquaman is back, baby! And he actually has a baby with him now! With the brand new DC Universe fast approaching, "Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom" serves as the very last remaining project of the old DC Expanded Universe that started with "Man of Steel" back in 2013.
It is fitting, then, that the honor of closing out this version of a DC cinematic universe will fall on the single best character of this universe — Jason Momoa's Aquaman. The first "Aquaman" was an incredibly fun movie, one that presented a huge, visually rich world, lots of dumb fun, an octopus that plays drums, and the cinematic gift that is the scene where Aquaman heads to the Sahara Desert while a cover of Toto's "Africa" by Pitbull plays in the background. The Fast & Furious movies saga, a robust international action series created by Gary Scott Thompson, has proven to be much more than its humble beginnings as a street racing storyline in 2001. Who would have predicted the evolution from gritty street races to the cinematic spectacle of dragging bank vaults across the asphalt, airborne cars, submarine escapes, and speculative alien encounters? However, following the franchise’s timeline can feel like being in a high-speed chase.
To experience the Fast & Furious events as they chronologically unfold, the journey begins with the first two installments: The Fast and the Furious and 2 Fast 2 Furious. Unexpectedly, the third in the series, Tokyo Drift, doesn’t follow immediately after, as it’s set further down the timeline. Instead, viewers should pivot to Fast & Furious, Fast Five, and Fast & Furious 6 before returning to Tokyo Drift.

Where did the "Fast & Furious" franchise hit its creative peak? It's a debate that will rage on forever. Some fans point to the early entries, when the series seemed to at least be sort of trying to stay within the grounds of realism. Others point to the latest movies, which have made it unambiguously clear that these are live-action cartoons where violence doesn't have real consequences for any of our main characters. Certain viewers and critics have always bafflingly tried to maintain that this franchise isn't in on the joke, that the writers include all these ridiculous moments while somehow being unaware of how unrealistic they are, but the latter movies have shut that form of critique down once and for all.
But for most, the series' peak was in the sixth or seventh movies. That was the point where the movies were getting aggressively silly without so many aggressive winks to the audience.

When Fast Five came out in the summer of 2011, it was a smash hit. While people expected the franchise to do well, no one thought that the film would be so big that it would turn what had, up to then, been a series of glorified B-movies into the next major tentpole franchise. To capitalize on the film’s success, Fast & Furious 6 (whose on-screen title is simply Furious 6) was immediately put into production. Director Justin Lin and star Vin Diesel had already planned an epic conclusion for what they hoped would be the next film before Fast Five came out. With their sequel now a reality, Lin and his crew opted to make this an even bigger film than its predecessor, with their home studio, Universal, now granting them the kind of tentpole movie budgets reserved for the 007 and Mission: Impossible franchises, as Fast Five had...

If there is cinematic butt to be kicked, rest assured that Jason Statham will be at the front of the line. Since he burst onto the scene in Guy Ritchie’s Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels in 1998, he’s left a lot of broken bodies and wrecked cars in his wake. And when Expendables 4 rolls out on September 20, he will be nearing his 50th film, the lion’s share being unapologetic explosive action.
Statham makes movies with staying power. He’s made four Expendables films, three Transporters, two Mechanics (2011 and 2016), tw0 Cranks (2006 and 2009) and two Megs (2018 and 2023). James Wan earned his recognition by directing known horror movies. His first notable work was 2004’s ‘Saw,’ a horror movie that spawned the entire franchise, for which the tenth installment will be released later this month. Wan also directed ‘Dead Silence,’ and the first two installments of ‘The Conjuring’ and ‘Insidious’ franchises. His first non-horror movie was 2015’s ‘Furious 7,’ which grossed over $1.5 billion. In 2018, he debuted in the superhero genre with ‘Aquaman,’ which grossed $1.148 billion and became the highest-grossing DC movie ever.
After five years of waiting, ‘Aquaman’ will finally get a sequel this December, and Wan returned to direct it. However, DC Studios is currently in a rough era since every DC movie released this year was a commercial failure. Since Wan’s ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ is set to close Dceu for good, the box-office predictions for the upcoming sequel do not look promising at all.

In James Wan's "Aquaman," Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) struggles with his legacy as heir to Atlantis and overcomes obstacles to claim what is rightfully his. This victory is hard-earned and not without opposition, and this transition will serve as the premise for Wan's "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom." Now, as the King of Atlantis, Arthur has to contend with the return of Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) and seek help from his estranged family to protect his kingdom. While "Aquaman 2" will lean heavily into the themes of revenge and heroic retribution, director James Wan has also incorporated a primary element from the "Fast and Furious" franchise: family.
In a trailer reveal event for "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" attended by /Film's Jenna Busch, Wan spoke about the themes the sequel embodies, and how family emerges as a key motivator for Arthur in the upcoming film. While explaining this aspect,...

Updated, 9:21 a.m.: Warner Bros on Thursday unveiled the first full-length trailer for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the very long awaited sequel to the subaquatic James Wan superhero pic which remains one of DC’s biggest successes.
“Four years ago, I was basically unemployed, a wanderer with no home,” Jason Momoa’s title character proclaims in the segment. “But now, I’m a husband and a father. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
He’s now got a job, as well, looking after a kingdom of half a billion as King of Atlantis. But not everything comes easily for him in the sequel, as Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) returns in hopes of taking him out.

The first trailer for "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" is here, and that's a reason to celebrate. The original "Aquaman" is one of the highlights of the modern DC movie universe, a goofball spectacle that married traditional superhero thrills with gonzo mythology and a winning, dorky sense of humor. And honestly? I see no reason for the sequel to not double down on all of that. After all, the first movie made a billion bucks. Audiences bought what it was selling. In director James "I Made 'Malignant' And Am Therefore Immortal" Wan we trust.
But like any sequel worth its salt, "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" sees its hero up against a wall. Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) is back, and he's not the secondary villain this time around. In fact, he seems poised to destroy the all-too-happy kingdom Arthur (Jason Momoa) has built alongside Mera (Amber Heard...
