This is Bravo's first scripted show.
Lisa Edelstein, Necar Zadegan and Paul Adelstein previously worked on shows about doctors and hospitals. Edelstein of House M.D, Zadegan on Emily Owens M.D and Adelstein on Private Practice.
In April 2016 Bravo gave the show a 3 season renewal that many assumed would maintain it on the air for a few years, given that seasons 1 and 2 premiered a year apart and consisted on 13 episodes each. But a few months later it was revealed that those 3 seasons would be the lasts of the show, that will consist on 19 episodes in total (7+6+6) and that they were to be written and shot in a row.
