In the animated series' first Halloween-themed episode, Lynn Sr. was established to have a phobia against Halloween. In this movie, he willingly participates in Halloween celebrations, indicating that he has overcome his phobia.
Prior to this film's initial announcement, Wolfgang Schaeffer, Aubin Bradley, Lexi Janicek, and Dora Dolphin all expressed interest in producing a Halloween- or holiday-themed film after A Loud House Christmas (2021). The latter is the only cast member out of these four who did not reprise her role from the first movie.
The promotional name of Lori's Halloween costume is "Witchy Woman", which is also the title of a song by Eagles.
Due to the fact that this film reprises the Season 1 cast of The Really Loud House (2022), Dora Dolphin, Morgan McGill, Charlotte Ann Tucker and Lainey Jane Knowles, and Muretta Moss do not reprise their roles as Leni, Lynn, Lily, and Rita from the first movie, instead being replaced by Eva Carlton, Annaka Fourneret, August Michael Peterson and Jolie Jenkins, respectively.
This film was originally set to release on October 6, 2023 in the United States, but its release was pushed to the earlier date of September 28, 2023. The original American release date later became the release date for the Canada, the United Kingdom, and Ireland.
