Over its decade-long run and spawning numerous spin-offs, The Walking Dead has secured its place as one of the most successful TV series. Adapted from the comic book by Frank Darabont, the post-apocalyptic horror show delves into the harrowing struggles of survival in the midst of a zombie apocalypse.
As the name and the concept of the show suggest, it witnessed the demise of several characters throughout its 11-season journey. These deaths are often portrayed in the most heart-wrenching and brutal manner imaginable, leaving fans devastated.

However, when the decision was made to kill off Merritt Wever’s character, the showrunners were unprepared for the immense backlash that followed from the LGBTQ community. Even the actress herself was taken aback by the audience’s reaction.

The ground. That’s the dream. Clarke Griffin (Eliza Taylor) first spoke those words in voiceover narration on March 19, 2014, when The 100’s pilot episode aired… and 101-counting-Bellamy (Bob Morley) juvenile delinquents set foot on an irradiated Earth to the tune of “Radioactive” by Imagine Dragons. Over seven seasons of characters fighting tooth and nail for survival, fan-favorite romances blossomed, impossible choices made it clear there were no good guys, and levers were repeatedly pulled in season finales. We chatted with Morley and Taylor about the process of joining and filming The 100 a decade ago, and what the show means to them today. Morley said he could have read for the character of Finn (Thomas McDonnell), but he ultimately decided to audition for Bellamy. While he said the casting process was “by the book,” aside from Eli Goree [who played Wells Jaha], he didn’t meet his future castmates until the show’s inaugural table read.

The CW’s current slate looks drastically different than it did even just a couple of years ago. Formerly known for its quirky teen drama and superhero staples, the network, under its new owner Nexstar, is now largely focused on unscripted shows, lower-cost “content,” and sports. There are still some scripted projects left at The CW — All American, Walker, Canadian-American co-productions Sullivan’s Crossing and Son of a Critch, the final season of Superman & Lois, and upcoming shows Sherlock & Daughter and Good Cop/Bad Cop. But it definitely doesn’t feel like the same channel that was once home to Riverdale, The 100, Supernatural, and the Arrowverse.

This article contains spoilers for The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live episode 1 and The Last of Us episode 3.
There’s no dating in the apocalypse … at least not for the first few years. It’s all raw survival, never-ending panic, and flashes of joy and ingenuity that keep humanity going just enough to persevere. At least that’s what all the end-of-the-world tales tell us.
In recent years, stories like Station Eleven and The Last of Us have depicted various permutations of disrepair that society might fall into after a deadly global pandemic. When a large portion of the population is just gone and every day is a fight to stay alive, standards and realities change. Instead of meeting by the bar, two lovers might meet staging a coup against a rogue government agency, falling into a booby trap, or perhaps even during a delivery of infant formula to a prison gate.

For many people, a film like Land of Bad might not have enough to catch the eye. However, personally, almost everything about it made me instantly want to add it to my watchlist: a straightforward, action-driven premise based on a rescue operation; a quite decent cast with Liam (The Hunger Games) and Luke Hemsworth (Next Goal Wins), Russell Crowe (The Nice Guys), Ricky Whittle (The 100), and Milo Ventimiglia (This is Us); and most importantly, it’s directed by William Eubank, who made the overlooked yet loved amongst many of the people who’ve seen it, Underwater.

Sony Pictures UK just dropped the first look at their new horror flick, ‘Tarot’, and it’s as eerie as it gets. The movie, brought to life by Spenser Cohen and Anna Halberg, dives into a chilling tale where a bunch of teens face deadly consequences after toying with Tarot card readings. The trailer gives us a sneak peek into the horror that awaits, painting a grim picture of their fate.
In ‘Tarot’, we meet a group of friends who ignore a crucial Tarot reading rule: never use a deck that’s not yours. They soon find themselves entangled in a nightmare, as an evil force from the cursed cards starts haunting them. The trailer hints at a desperate struggle to dodge the grim futures laid out in their readings.
The movie stars Jacob Batalon, Harriet Slater, Avantika, and Adain Bradley. While they might not be household names, their previous work speaks volumes.

Another Russell Crowe and Liam Hemsworth collaboration was not a square on our 2024 pop culture Bingo card, yet it looks like we're about to check it off. Moviegoers are due to see the pair of Aussies team up for the second time in as many years in February's military action thriller "Land of Bad." The pair recently co-starred in the 2022 movie "Poker Face" (no relation to the TV show of the same name), a thriller about a high stakes poker game gone wrong that was directed by Crowe himself.
This time around it's not a card game that goes wrong, but a mission. "Land of Bad" follows a group of military men on an extraction assignment in the Philippines that takes a bloody turn, leaving one young officer at the mercy of the elements and local militia. Fortunately, he's not alone: he's got Russell Crowe's drone pilot droning in his ear,...

Original The Good Doctor cast member Chuku Modu is once again a series regular on the ABC medical drama, playing Dr. Jared Kalu.
Modu, who originally returned midway through last season as a recurring, has been promoted to regular for the upcoming seventh season, now in production.
Modu’s surgical resident Dr. Jared Kalu was a breakout character in Season 1. He got into trouble for punching a doctor who had sexually harassed his girlfriend, resident Claire Browne (Antonia Thomas) and ultimately headed to Colorado for a surgeon job.
Kalu eventually left that job to become a concierge doctor, which is how he ended up back at San Jose’s St. Bonaventure Hospital. He ended up sticking around his old stumping grounds.

The Painter is another tale of a former covert operative forced to pick up his weapons and get back in the game. Can director Kimani Ray Smith and writer Brian Buccellato find a way to give the year a fresh start with the usual assortment of high-stakes espionage mixed with personal and professional betrayals?
Peter was one of the CIA’s top agents until he was sent to kill the same person his wife Elena’s team was sent to bring back alive. She lost the child she was carrying, and their marriage fell apart soon after.

Case in point, Death And Other Details, which features Mandy Patinkin on comedy drama mode as a genius sleuth called in to solve a tricky death on board a luxury liner. Check out the first trailer below…
Set amidst the glamour of the global elite, Death And Other Details focuses on the brilliant and restless Imogene Scott (Violett Beane), who finds herself in the wrong place/wrong time and becomes the prime suspect in a locked room murder mystery.
The setting? A lavishly restored Mediterranean ocean liner.

Before getting out of the business of producing scripted content, Cinemax's lineup of shows was truly phenomenal.
The network brought great shows like Strikeback, Warrior (now on Max), and Banshee to life.
These shows were well-written, with great characters and stories. The action was top-tier, making action buffs weak on the knees with every sequence.
Banshee's narrative, storyline, direction, and enigmatic characters stood out. The show is one of the most underrated shows from the 2010s.
After seeing its lead male actor's phenomenal skills in a currently airing show, I was compelled to check up on the cast and see what they've been up to in the years since the show ended.

You’re not gone until you’re gone. At least that’s what I told people when they realized it took eight seasons for “Fear the Walking Dead” to wrap up.
“Fear” bested predictions and became one of the longest-running television spin-offs currently on air. While ratings dwindled and characters were written off over the years, it maintained a decent cult following — some tuning in for Alycia Debnam-Carey, who came into her own as an actress on the show following “The 100,” while others begrudgingly watched to keep up with the “Walking Dead” universe, after characters like Morgan (Lennie James), Dwight (Austin Amelio) and Sherry (Christine Evangelista) were transferred from the original series.
A key to its success, “Fear” never shied away from a soft reboot. Every season tackled a new approach to its storytelling, sometimes in the span of a few episodes. Early seasons of “Fear” felt migratory even,...

Gear up for a new season of Amazon’s breakout action hit Reacher, which is based on the popular novels by Lee Child that served as the basis for Tom Cruise’s attempted franchise, Jack Reacher. Although Cruise’s film adaptation was able to capitalize with the sequel, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, Prime Video’s Reacher series aimed to stick closer to the novels and presents a new case for each season. For example, major characters from season one, like Roscoe and Oscar Finlay, will not play prominent roles in this season. Prime Video has just released the teaser for tomorrow’s premiere for the trailer to season 2 of the Alan Ritchson-starring drama.
According to ScreenRant, “Reacher season 2 will be based on Child’s book Bad Luck and Trouble, the 11th book in the ongoing series. In the book, Reacher is contacted by someone from his former military unit,...

The CW has ordered two scripted series set to premiere in the fall of 2024: crime-solving dramas “Wild Cards” and “Sight Unseen.”
“Wild Cards” is a procedural starring two alumni of the CW: Vanessa Morgan (“Riverdale”) and Giacomo Gianniotti (“Reign”). Ellis (Giannioti) is a gruff, sardonic cop demoted from his role as a detective fown to the maritime unit, while Max (Morgan) is a spirited, clever con woman living a transient life and scamming everyone she meets. When Max gets arrested and ends up helping Ellis solve a local crime, the two are offered the opportunity to redeem themselves, with Ellis going back to detective and Max staying out of jail if they can learn to trust each other and work together.
Michael Konyves created “Wild Cards” and executive produces alongside pilot director James Genn, Shawn Piller, Lloyd Segan, and writers Alexandra Zarowny, James Thorpe, Noelle Carbone and Morwyn Brebner,...

As the title suggests, Creepy Crawly is about a bug. Lots of them, in fact. This Thai horror movie’s original title of The 100 alluded to its predatory antagonist’s many legs, but the new name now eliminates any chance of vagueness. The renaming might also indicate a sense of fun. However, viewers will quickly realize this story of people trapped in a hotel with a giant centipede monster takes itself rather seriously. Maybe too much so.
In the world of Creepy Crawly, society is still dealing with Covid-19. The Pandemic is at its peak, and death and sickness is on everyone’s minds. Directors Chalit Krileadmongkon (The Beast Below) and Pakphum Wongjinda play on that relatable vulnerability and paranoia by introducing a blatantly metaphorical threat: the parasitic monster that passes from person to person like a communicable disease. The tension is then magnified by using a single location for most of the movie.

The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute has brought in veteran TV casting executive as Head of Talent, a newly created position focused on transitioning the Institute’s students to becoming professional actors in film and TV.

London, Aug 30 (Ians) The England and Wales Cricket Board (Ecb) announced on Wednesday that it is increasing match fees for the women’s team to bring them in line with the men’s side match fees with immediate effect.
It means that the parity in match fees will take effect from England women’s upcoming white-ball home series against Sri Lanka. England also becomes the fourth cricketing nation after New Zealand, India and South Africa to equalise the match fees for its international men’s and women’s teams.
“The direction of travel for the women’s game has always been the most important thing, creating a sustainable product that people want to watch and play, and I’m sure this will make cricket an increasingly attractive sport to girls and young women as we continue to grow the game.”

The existence of the 21st century itself is almost inconceivable. Ask any one who was around in 1999 how they felt about the incoming year 2000 and they’ll be happy to tell you how surreal it all felt. Hell, they may even be nice enough to give you a non-perishable treat from their Y2K bomb shelter.
The fact that we’re even in the 2000s and have been for many years feels like science fiction to begin with. It’s only fitting then that television, a very 20th century innovation, has been at our side the whole time to make sense of it.
Sci-fi TV in the 21st century was both a friendly companion and a bold boundary pusher. Whether it took us to the heights of outer space, alternate universes, or even just around the neighborhood, science fiction stories truly enriched our pop culture landscape. What follows are our...

About the series
The new series starring Sigourney Weaver is now among us, and it is everything that fans of the New York actress expect: a poignant and dramatic story where the actress shines on her own in a brilliantly executed production in terms of acting, set design, and script.
Warning: it is a beautifully filmed drama, but it is also a drama about child abuse and open wounds. About the series
From its opening moments, it is clear that the series is of excellent quality, with meticulous cinematography and outstanding production work.

Since its debut in 2006 as a joint venture between Warner Bros. and CBS, The CW primarily served as an outlet for its parents’ studios. That’s all changing now that Nexstar has purchased a majority stake in the broadcaster, putting its streaming strategies up in the air.
