Last year, Angel Studios opened a booth at CinemaCon in Last Vegas to launch its distribution arm. That paid off handsomely after “Sound of Freedom” exploded to a $250 million worldwide gross. This year, they took to a much bigger stage for a Caesar’s Palace breakfast presentation and announced its intention to stun the industry again.
The Angel headliner was “David,” an animated musical based on the Biblical story of David vs. Goliath. Or, as the studio’s chief marketing officer Alex Nielsen told the audience: “We intend to release the most successful animated film of all time.”
Angel dated “David” for Thanksgiving weekend 2025, but it presented a full trailer and a full song to a packed, standing-room only house inside the Palace Ballroom. The trailer also touted that former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow is an executive producer on the project.

Angel Studios, the outfit behind Sound Of Freedom, has dated three more theatrical releases rounding out its slate at a presentation today in Las Vegas.
The company told exhibitors gathered at CinemaCon that World War II thriller Bonhoeffer will hit theaters Nov. 22, Homestead on Dec. 20 and David — a new animated musical about the biblical king — on Nov. 21, 2025.
As reported, Sight is upcoming on May 24, and Possum Trot on July 4.
Angel is celebrating its first year as a theatrical distributor, topping $300 million in global box office revenue, the no. 8 stop, in 2023.

CAA has signed “Industry” and “Rye Lane” star David Jonsson for representation.
News of Jonsson signing with CAA comes just hours after the actor was confirmed to be part of the cast of the yet-to-be-titled “Alien” movie, written and directed by Fede Alvarez.
20th Century Studios announced that Jonsson would be among the actors joining Cailee Spaeny in the sci-fi film — the ninth in the franchise started by Ridley Scott, who is returning to produce.
