Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) and Matthias Schoenaerts (Rust and Bone) are set to star in Ruin, a new thriller based on the screenplay by Kaz Firpo and Ryan Firpo (Marvel’s Eternals), which topped the Black List in 2017.
Hailing from Niki Caro, the director behind titles like The Mother and Mulan, the film is set in the ruins of post-wwii Germany, following a recently released camp prisoner (Gadot) who is forced to make an unlikely alliance with a German soldier (Schoenaerts) in a mutual quest to exact revenge on a Nazi SS squad. Marc Butan will produce for MadRiver Pictures, alongside Jaron Varsano and Gadot for Pilot Wave Motion Pictures, Caro. Ludascripts’ Gillian Hormel and Aloe Entertainment’s Mary Aloe will exec produce alongside the Firpos, with Evan Powell overseeing for MadRiver.

Adrianne Palicki has some terrible superhero luck. Not only was the actor's Wonder Woman pilot shelved, she recently revealed that her Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. character, Bobbi Morse, was supposed to have appeared in other Marvel Cinematic Universe projects before those opportunities evaporated.
Speaking to The Direct, Palicki, whose S.H.I.E.L.D. character was known as Mockingbird in the comics, shared details about negotiations that preceded the ABC television series in 2014. "The conversation I had when I signed on actually to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was either I was going to be participating in the films or have a spin-off," the actor explained.

Gal Gadot’s Snow White stumble might’ve triggered more than just bad reviews. It may’ve taken Wonder Woman down with it. DC just axed Diana Prince, and the timing’s a little too on-the-nose. One minute, Gadot’s fairytale flick is flopping harder than a fish out of water, and the next, Wonder Woman’s out.
But in the chaotic world of capes and crowns, it feels like a shady plot twist. Gadot’s tiara took a hit, and suddenly, the Amazonian legend was nowhere to be seen. Hollywood’s playing rough, and poor Diana might’ve just taken the fall for a box office bomb.

We've heard whispers about this project before, but we got a lot of new details at the Star Wars Celebration. As revealed by director Shawn Levy (who also directed Deadpool & Wolverine), the movie will be set after The Rise of Skywalker,...

Jaume Collet-Serra directed the horror thriller The Woman in the Yard, which has pulled in just $17 million at the global box office since reaching theatres last month, but back in December he brought us the action thriller Carry On, which quickly became one of the most popular movies on the Netflix streaming service. There has been talk of a sequel – but before any Carry On follow-ups get rolling, Collet-Serra has already lined up two other projects. He’ll be working with Netflix on a dramatic psychological thriller called An Innocent Girl and Deadline reports that Noah Jupe has signed on to star in another thriller Collet-Serra is pushing toward production, the survival thriller Play Dead.
Jupe may be best known for playing Marcus Abbott in A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place Part II. Some of his other credits include Lady in the Lake, Franklin, The Undoing, Ford v Ferrari,...

2025 may be a quarter way through, but in the world of TV the year is still incredibly young. And so even though we’ve already been down to the severed floor for Severance Season 2, stared at our reflection once again in Charlie Brooker's Netflix series Black Mirror, brought out the billy clubs for Disney+ must-see show Daredevil: Born Again, and had our collective socks knocked off by Philip Barantini's Adolescence, a veritable streaming smorgasbord still lies ahead of us over the next eleven months or so.
From Andor to Zero Day, The Last Of Us to Stranger Things, and Alan Partridge to Wonder Man to Doctor Who, there is no shortage of returning favourites, fresh franchise offerings, original programming, weekly droppers and binge-ready shows in store for us before the year is through. So whether you’re chomping at the bit for Sally Wainwright’s Happy Valley follow-up,...

Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for Nonnas, Vince Vaughn's star-studded new comedy that promises to serve up some big laughs when it hits the streaming service on May 9. The dramedy centers around Joe Scaravella (Vaughn), who opens a restaurant following the loss of his mother and hires four Italian grandmothers, aka "nonnas," as chefs. The plot is based on the real-life owner of the Staten Island eatery Enoteca Maria, whose story is brought to the screen by Liz Maccie, who penned the script, and her husband Stephen Chbosky, who directed the feature.
The trailer (seen below) seems to have all the right ingredients for a heartwarming comedy, with a storytelling recipe that includes a cup of wit, a heavy sprinkling of nostalgia, and a pinch of reality. A delicious and authentic meal can be a great unifier, and few settings compare to a spread prepared by Italian artisans. I might be allergic to tomatoes, but I know where most people’s garlic bread is buttered. Today, Vince Vaughn embarks on a business venture that places several personalities in a kitchen and turns up the heat with Netflix’s Nonnas trailer.
Inspired by the life story of Jody Scaravella, today’s Nonnas trailer finds Joe Scaravella (Vince Vaughn) grieving the loss of his mother and looking for a way to heal. He’s spent years wasting his life at a dead-end job and years for a second chance. To give himself a new lease on life, he opens a restaurant and hires a group of Italian grandmothers as chefs. Tom King has a way of bringing things back to the beginning of his stories. For example, in the first issue of his Batman run, one of his two new characters (Gotham and Gotham Girl) played a part in his last arc, Batman: City of Bane. It might have been difficult to remember how they impacted everything if you were reading that series monthly, but it always comes together nicely. The same could be said for Emelie during King's current Wonder Woman series because she causes the death of the Amazons.

The fifth Ambie Awards, honoring the best podcasts of the year, had a recurring theme throughout Monday’s ceremony: standing up for truth.
“I just want to put in a word for the facts,” This American Life host and producer Ira Glass said during his speech accepting the Governors Award for his and his show’s influence on the medium. “We’re in a war over facts, and we have to stand up for them.

Wonder Woman is yet to be cast in DC Studios’ Dcu, whereas Superman is going to make his debut later this year. The Man of Steel remains the only character that has been cast in DC’s main trinity, with Batman having a few projects in development. However, save for Paradise Lost, Wonder Woman seems to be pretty absent from the scene so far.
There seems to have been some buzz about the actresses who could play Wonder Woman, and the latest name to join the list is Adria Arjona of Andor fame. There seems to be some debate about how the actress might fit the role of Wonder Woman, with James Gunn having been mum so far about casting news regarding Wonder Woman.

In the DC Universe, one of the most fan-beloved characters of all time, especially among the superheroes, is none other than Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman. For years, the iconic character has amused fans worldwide, and previously, Gal Gadot ensured fans felt the same way about her. But now the times have changed, and James Gunn holds the reigns to the Dcu.
That said, now that Gadot has ostensibly left the mantle behind for other younger actresses to take on the role, Gunn has a really hard decision waiting ahead for him. This is because the current debate is raging between actresses Adria Arjona and Jessica Green with respect to the potential candidate to replace Gadot, and choosing one might not be the easiest task for the co-ceo.

Animated movies have long been crowd-pleasers, working with audiences of all ages. This can, perhaps, be attributed to the freedom that comes with the medium. With the genre’s history dating back to the late 1800s, it’s fascinating to see how animation has evolved from short, silent films to this billion-dollar culture machine.

While box office data began to be tracked in the 1920s, it wasn’t until the late 20th and early 21st centuries that animated films began breaking financial records. Today, a select group of these films has achieved rather extraordinary success, capturing the hearts (and wallets) of millions worldwide.
Let’s count down the animated movies that have made history, starting at number thirteen and working our way to the champion of the billion-dollar club. (You never know who overtakes them next).

In 2015, Disney released its live-action remake of their beloved 1950 animated classic Cinderella. The remake charmed audiences and many critics, becoming the 12th top-grossing film of the year. Since its success, Disney has remade more of its animated films as live-action, including Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King.
In 2025, Disney dares to make a live-action remake of the animated classic that started it all, the 1937 film Snow White. Rachel Zegler from West Side Story portrays the fair princess, while Gal Gadot from Wonder Woman slides into the role of her evil stepmother.
The movie begins with two little animals opening the fairy tale book Snow White, and a voiceover recites the classic opening line, “Once upon a time.” The narrator then reveals that Snow White was born during a significant snowstorm, leading her parents, the King and Queen, to name her Snow White.

Before she was out there saving the world with her lasso of truth and Amazonian strength, Gal Gadot almost took a very different career path. Currently awaiting the release of her upcoming movie Snow White, Gadot reflected on her acting career and noted how things would have been different, had she not been asked to audition for a James Bond movie.

Back when Gal Gadot was studying law and modeling as a side gig, she was sought by a casting director to audition for the role of a Bond Girl in Daniel Craig’s Quantum of Solace. Although she didn’t nab the role, the experience unlocked a whole new passion for acting. Two decades later Gadot is not just gracing the screen—she’s gracing the Hollywood Walk of Fame!

While it was her role as ex-Mossad agent Gisele Yashar in the Fast & Furious franchise that put Gal Gadot on the map, her real breakthrough came after being cast as the Dceu's Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
A small but memorable supporting role saw her Diana Prince team up with the Dark Knight and Man of Steel to battle Doomsday. Talking to Variety, Gadot credits filmmaker Zack Snyder with creating the first big screen Wonder Woman as we know her.
"Zack Snyder really had the vision for Wonder Woman," she told the trade. "To do the solo Wonder Woman movie with a partner like Patty Jenkins was life-changing. I think we both felt like we were just a vessel to tell a story that is much bigger than us, that the world was ready for - a complete, empowered woman who is strong and at the same time vulnerable.

We have already written about the House of David, Amazon’s Biblical series that focuses on the stories from the Old Testament and the establishment of the Jewish state in ancient times. The series premiered on February 27, 2025 and ended after five episodes.
And while the series received mixed (not to say polarizing) reviews, fans of the project can rejoice as Amazon has confirmed that the series has been reviewed for a second season, so there will be more to come in the future.

The upcoming live-action remake of Snow White is not Disney's first venture into the world of remakes, but it's certainly one of its most controversial projects. With several other successful attempts, like 2015's Cinderella and 2017's Beauty and the Beast, the fairest of them all is not quite as popular.
The upcoming Disney film stars West Side Story's Rachel Zegler as the titular character and Wonder Woman's Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen. Zegler's casting has led to a wave of backlash, as her mother has Columbian descendants, and the character is described as fair-skinned. With the premiere getting closer, an insider claimed the "tensions" are getting higher between the two co-stars, telling People that Gadot and Zegler have "nothing in common."
The two actresses might have a huge age gap, but that hasn't stopped other actors. Press tours are vital in the promotion of a film, which...

By the time Megan Moroney sang the words, “Oh, my God, am I okay?” at Rolling Stone’s third-annual Future of Music showcase at SXSW on Wednesday night, it was clear the Georgia country star already had her answer. Moroney was far better than just “okay,” and the fans assembled at Austin’s Acl Live at the Moody Theater let her know it. They cheered, and on occasion shrieked, when the singer launched into emo-country hits like her breakthrough “Tennessee Orange,” the reflective “I’m Not Pretty,” and a set-closing “Am I Okay?...

Updating and expanding Amazonian lore over the years to bolster Diana Prince’s ever-evolving status as a DC Comics icon, the writer of one of the most influential and successful Wonder Woman stories of all time has hinted that her series may actually not be over, a hopeful wish that may come to pass sooner rather than later.

Disney's anticipated Snow White remake seems set to dwarf the competition as it draws nearer to its anticipated spring release. The upcoming live-action adaptation is on track for a solid opening despite the controversy surrounding its lead star, Rachel Zegler.

Disney+ will have a packed slate of new MCU shows this year. In addition to Daredevil: Born Again, which premieres on Mar. 4, Wonder Man is also set to be released this year. The series stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as the titular hero, along with Ben Kingsley reprising his role as Trevor Slattery, and Demetrius Grosse joining the MCU as Eric Williams/Grim Reaper. The first glimpse of the series was revealed in a wider Marvel Disney+ trailer late last year. The footage looked promising, but Marvel's Brad Winderbaum has given the show some incredibly hyperbolic praise.
During an interview with Collider, Brad Winderbaum, head of streaming, television, and animation at Marvel Studios, was asked about the status of Wonder Man. He first revealed that the new series will run for "eight episodes," although an exact release date has still not been revealed. The sudden closure of Monolith Studios by Warner Bros has created ripples of shock among gamers in more ways than one. It’s not just the loss of what could have been an excellent take on Wonder Woman from the studio that created Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War either.

The episode count and runtimes for Marvel Television's Wonder Man have been revealed. Unfortunately, the Marvel Cinematic Universe series is set to continue a Disney+ runtime trend that has not won over the majority of the streamer's subscriber base.

Winderbaum also shared that there will not be a consistent length for the episodes, explaining that streaming allows for a little bit of leeway with the runtimes. Scott Foley has signed on to star and executive produce It’s Not Like That, a faith based drama at Prime Video, Deadline has confirmed. It’s Not Like That, from Wonder Project, was given a cast-contingent series order at Prime Video in November and Foley’s casting now lifts that contingency.
Foley will play the series regular role of Malcolm, a minister and recent widow.
Per the logline, It’s Not Like That follows Lori, who is freshly divorced with two teens. Malcolm’s a minister and recently widowed dad of three. Their families once did everything together, but now Lori and Malcolm must navigate their newly minted singledom, parenthood and the complexities of Malcolm being a modern-day minister. Is this the beginning of a love story? It’s not like that. Or is it?
The series comes from Ian Deitchman and Kristin Robinson, who created the series and serve as showrunners.

In connection with the restructuring, the company also said that it is ending development of its Wonder Woman game, which it first announced back in 2021. Instead, the company will focus on “building the best games possible with our key franchises -– Harry Potter, Mortal Kombat, DC and Game of Thrones,” per a Warner Bros. Games spokesperson.
The spokesperson added that three of the company’s game studios: Monolith Productions, Player First Games and Warner Bros. Games San Diego, will shut down amid the changes. Monolith had been developing the Wonder Woman game.
“Our hope was to give players and fans the highest quality experience possible for the iconic character, and unfortunately this is no longer possible within our strategic priorities,” the spokesperson said. “This is another tough decision,...

James Gunn and Peter Safran’s joint vision for the Dcu took another step forward this week, with the pair laying out revised plans for the franchise’s immediate and long-term future. Among the many updates, Swamp Thing fans were given some bittersweet news about the horror-orientated movie’s production, which seems to be frustratingly stalled…but seemingly for a good reason.
When Gunn originally announced the Dcu’s first wave of projects, it included some surprising entries and the promise of more to come. Now, two years on, the Dcu is ready to kick off its live-action account with this summer’s Superman, but there have been some changes to other projects, as the ever-evolving world of comic book movies has forced Gunn and Safran to rework their initial slate.

It has been over two years since James Gunn announced his plans for Chapter 1 of the Dcu, Gods & Monsters. Audiences finally got to see those plans kick off with the debut of Creature Commandos, and the franchise is moving along nicely as Superman is set to open in theaters in July 2025, followed by previously announced projects like Peacemaker Season 2, Lanterns, and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Meanwhile, Clayface, Sgt.Rock and Dynamic Duo were announced after and have since been added to the slate of releases, showing a diverse line-up of projects and genres for the Dcu. However, some titles announced in January 2023 have made no progress, one in particular feeling like a glaring omission: The Authority.
Speaking with various members of the press to update on the state of the Dcu, James Gunn and Peter Safran revealed the status of The Authority. According to Variety, Safran said, "It’s a very,...

Review: Faith-based films often get a bad rap. Many films heavily focused on Christian themes get labeled and struggle to garner mainstream attention. Still, they can sometimes tell beautiful stories that are inclusive rather than damning of other religions. Like last year’s Ordinary Angels, also directed by Jon Gunn, The Unbreakable Boy tells an emotional and challenging true story of a young boy whose challenges are an inspiration to those around them. Rather than sugarcoat the story,...
