Dermot Mulroney didn’t have a Bff in any casting departments after starring in 1997 rom-com “My Best Friend’s Wedding.”
Mulroney shared with the New York Times that despite starring in the hit film alongside Julia Roberts and Cameron Diaz, he “probably didn’t work for a year” after its release. “My Best Friend’s Wedding” grossed almost $300 million at the global box office against its $35 million budget, and while Mulroney went on to continue his rom-com reign with “The Wedding Date” and more, there was not exactly a slew of immediately available roles with Dermot’s name on them.
“I was sitting there ready for the gift with purchase that was supposed to come along with being in a popular movie, and instead, I probably didn’t work for a year,” Mulroney said. “I chalked it up to me being so tiny on the poster, the little guy on the cake.

The Voice has announced its playoff advisors for the new season, and many fans are not happy about it. The four playoff advisors this season are Maluma, Saweetie, Anthony Ramos, and Meghan Trainor. However, when it comes to the new advisors, many fans complained they don’t even know who some of them are.
Here is a look at the new advisors and why they are on The Voice.
Fans Lash Out At The Voice Playoff Advisors
When the new playoff advisors were named, many fans complained about two of them specifically. On social media, fans asked why John Legend brought in Maluma and Dan + Shay brought in Saweetie. The complaint is that many fans either don’t know who they are or think they don’t deserve the spots.
Of course, when the new season of The Voice started, several fans on social media claimed to have not heard of Dan+Shay.

Sunday Am Update: The whole marketplace is coming in lighter than expected at $89M, which is -3% off from the same frame a year ago when Shazam Fury of the Gods did $30M. That’s exactly what the second weekend is for Kung Fu Panda 4 which is a great hold at -48%, rising to $107.7M stateside running total. Legendary/Warner Bros’ Dune Part Two isn’t far behind with $29.1M, -37%, for a running total of $205.3M. The domestic endgame on the sequel is expected to be around $275M.
Despite excellent holds by the big guns, it’s unfortunately, the middle of the box office dropped out — and that’s where the marketplace is still weak, post pandemic and post strikes. Lionsgate’s Mark Wahlberg dog adventure racing movie, Arthur the King, came in below in its projects at $7.5M. The movie was forecasted to do $8M-$10M. Important...

Doja Cat, an artist whose visuals are as important as her music, staged yet another mind-bending, eye-popping performance Tuesday night during the MTV Video Music Awards. She performed “Attention,” “Paint the Town Red,” and “Demons” off her highly anticipated upcoming album, Scarlet, which is set to come out Sept. 22.
The rapper opened the performance in an outfit that channeled an annoyed librarian with pencils in her hair for “Attention,” then began stripping down before heading into “Paint the Town Red.” All the while, two dozen bloodied replicas of her Scarlet...

In my opinion, the most interesting categories at the VMAs are not the most publicized ones like Video of the Year and Artist of the Year. Instead, they are the professional categories, voted on not by fans but by music insiders. Indeed, this is where quality generally prevails over popularity. So let’s consider who the winners in these categories will be.
Best Visual Effects
The nominee that might stand out the most in this category is Melanie Martinez’s “Void,” just based on the volume of effects used for worldbuilding. However, last year multiple similar videos lost to Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow’s “Industry Baby,” which used its effects in a more supporting role. So I’ll go with Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero” here; it’s subtle, but it’s also using visual effects in an interesting way. Plus, since the effects serve the story, voters might appreciate it more.

Christine McVie‘s cause of death has been revealed. On Nov. 30, the Fleetwood Mac singer died of an ischaemic stroke, according to her death certificate, which was obtained by The Blast.
Per Mayo Clinic, an ischaemic stroke occurs when a blood clot blocks or narrows an artery leading to the brain.
The docs show that McVie’s stroke came after she was diagnosed with cancer, which is listed as a secondary cause of her death. McVie had metastatic malignancy of unknown primary origin, which, according to the National Cancer Institute, is “a rare disease in which malignant cells are found in the body but the place the cancer began is not known.”
McVie, who was 79 at the time of her death, was cremated, according to the docs.
The singer and keyboardist’s family announced her death in November, stating that it came after “a short illness.”

It's hard to believe that after four certified-platinum singles, two Grammy nominations, multiple acting gigs, and mounting brand deals, Saweetie still hasn't dropped her debut album. But according to the "Icy Grl" rapper, there's a perfectly logical explanation.
In an exclusive interview with Popsugar, Saweetie - whose debut album has been delayed for some years now after an original June 2021 release date - explained that she's treating her first LP like a make-it-or-break-it moment, noting that "an album is really a true introduction to the world." "I really want to take my time with it because I want it to be a masterpiece," she adds. "Now, after people listen to it, I want them to feel like they know who Saweetie or who Diamonté is."
"I really want to put a true ensemble together."
Previously, Saweetie (birth name Diamonté Harper) has released singles like "My Type," "Tap In," and "Best Friend" with Doja Cat,...

Shania Twain is a proud Canadian, sharing stories of her childhood in From This Moment On. That includes one hilarious and “beautifully well-written” poem that would get her and her siblings through the Northern Ontario winters. Here’s what we learned from the “You’re Still the One” country singer.

Before she was the “Queen of Country Pop,” Twain was living in Ontario with her siblings. Her childhood was marked with several musical milestones — one of the first being “music time” in kindergarten. In high school, she picked up the trumpet as her band instrument.
As she got older, she performed live as a singer and took voice lessons before her first album debuted. The self-titled collection, which premiered in 1993, marked the beginning of Twain’s music career. Still, she...

On her new album Queen of Me, Shania Twain doesn’t sound like the same person who was once so on top she could playfully feign indifference toward Brad Pitt’s movie-star looks in “That Don’t Impress Me Much.” At the time, she could do no wrong, having become a global star and brought country music forward into a new era with arena-rock attitude, sex appeal, and hooks to match. But as her long-awaited 2017 album Now demonstrated, Twain’s voice, affected by illness and slowly rehabilitated, has changed — it...

Grammy Award-winning country music artiste Shania Twain released her new album, “Queen of Me” on Friday. The record is a limitless expression of pop that allows it to sit comfortably next to her many chart successors, enshrining it as an upbeat, playful, and joyous album.
The album is sonically inspired by ’70s and ’80s funk and rock – just like the sounds she grew up with and considered her heroes. It’s a departure from the past and a strident step into an ever-improving future.
The album consists of 12 new tracks. In the stand-out friendship anthem “Best Friend’, Shania affectionately gushes over her closest confidant as she emphasises “you always take the blame and you know I’d do the same for you. No matter what, yeah I got you, and I know that you got me.”
The LP represents a deep and dynamic creative statement from this iconic voice – from the energetic opener “Giddy Up!
