Hemlock Grove is based on Brian McGreevy's 2012 debut novel of the same name. The original novel is subtitled "The Wise Wolf".
The music is composed by Nathan Barr, the same composer for True Blood (2008). He's known for playing the majority of instruments heard in his compositions.
Hemlock Grove is Netflix's third original series following House of Cards (2013) (February 2013) and Lilyhammer (2012) (February 2012)
Dougray Scott (Norman Godfrey) and Famke Janssen (Olivia Godfrey) also appeared together as husband and wife in Taken 3 (2014). They played Stuart and Lenore St. John respectively.
