At the gate
I'm coming inside, I know that it's late
But I'm here, 'cause your body my motivation
Let's skip the talk
What if we found a way to get lost without fear?
Leave it all behind, we're escaping
If you told me that my faith was on your fingertips
Then I wouldn't believe it
I wouldn't believe it, yeah
Every kiss with you, it's like your prayer falls from my lips
Now I'm a believer
Yeah, I'm a believer (Oh)

Nick Jonas is an isolated spaceman yearning to be home with his wife in the new video for “Spaceman.” The song is the title track from his fourth studio album, which arrives on Friday and is available for preorder. The 11-song set is the follow-up to 2016’s Last Year Was Complicated.
In the Anthony Mandler-directed visual, Jonas wanders a desolate planet where he lives in a futuristic mirrored abode. He tries repeatedly to jet back home and fails. His resilience and love for his wife back home, however, is unwavering.

Saturday Night Live knows exactly how you spend your Saturday nights… besides watching SNL, of course.
During this weekend’s Nick Jonas-hosted episode, the sketch comedy series set its sights on the widely popular obsession with murder shows. In the music video, a husband (played by Jonas) heads out for the evening, leaving his wife (Chloe Fineman) with sole custody of the remote control. With the entire night open to unwind and “do a little self care,” she turns to her go-to source of gruesome entertainment.

It seems like the hosts of Saturday Night Live are determined to establish their own tradition, and it's honestly so sweet. Following in the footsteps of Dan Levy and Regina King, who both left sweet notes for their host successors in their dressing rooms after taking their turn on the SNL stage, Regé-Jean Page passed on the kind gesture to Nick Jonas for his turn on Feb. 27. The "Spaceman" singer, pulling double duty as the night's host and musical guest, shared a photo of said note on his Twitter page before taking the stage.
Keeping his note short and sweet, the Bridgerton star wrote, "Just have the best time, Nick!" The Jonas Brother tweeted, "That's the plan! Thanks for the note, @regejean."
Between his musical performances, pretending to be a personal trainer, and completely ruining Cinderella for us all, we can bet that Nick had a very good time.

He alludes to the 2020 election, the coronavirus pandemic, and ongoing inequality in the lyrics: “They say it’s a phase, it’ll change if we vote/And I pray that it will, but I know that it won’t/I’m a spaceman/Yeah,...

The Turners are making moves in their attempt for closure, but Servant Season 2 Episode 2 moved at a frustratingly slow pace.
It's nice to understand the characters' nuances, and I know the series has always been exposition-heavy, but it would also be nice to speed the pace up.
As things stand, Servant Season 2 is lagging behind its freshman season, thanks in large part to the rate at which the plot is advancing.
You would think that by the end of "Spaceman," we would have checked in with Leanne and got much more insight into her machinations, but all we got was a phone call.
Leanne thinks what she did was right, and urging Sean to make Dorothy realize what she did to their son is the best move, but what will the mysterious cult do if Sean doesn't agree to put his wife in the hot seat?

The Guadalajara Film Festival’s industry centerpiece, its Encuentro de Co-produccion, a springboard for Latin American feature film projects, unspools this week online, as directors and producers look to catch the eye of the international marketplace and secure key sales, distribution and production partners.
Guadalajara has long rejected the idea that gender-based quotas are needed when programming a festival while demonstrating an organic level of inclusion in its industry sections that should make some European festivals blush. The 2020 Meeting is no exception. More than half of the projects set to pitch this week are directed by women, with just as many featuring female producers or co-producers.
As important as any statistics though, the kinds of films that women are pitching at Guadalajara break moulds as well. Gone are the days when the industry expected women directors to tell women’s stories. Now, the women pitching at Guadalajara can present horror,...

At long last, Adam Sandler has finally signed on to star in a Netflix movie that isn’t a comedy. The 54 year-old’s Hubie Halloween arrived a couple of weeks ago and dominated the streaming service’s Top 10 most-watched list as all of his output tends to do, but it was yet another formulaic entry in the Happy Madison back catalogue that saw the actor sticking to the stock characters, cast and crew he knows best.
Sandler is already hard at work on his next streaming exclusive feature Hustle, which is shaping up to be something at least a little different with LeBron James on board as one of the producers and no sign of Kevin James, Rob Schneider or Steve Buscemi as part of the sports movie’s cast just yet.
After that, though, the Sandman will head back into dramatic territory with literary adaptation The Spaceman of Bohemia,...

Adam Sandler will portray an astronaut in Netflix’s untitled adaptation of Jaroslav Kalfar’s novel “The Spaceman of Bohemia.”
The story centers on an astronaut sent to the edge of the galaxy to collect mysterious, ancient dust, when he finds his earthly life falling to pieces. He turns to the only voice who can help him try to put it back together — a creature from the beginning of time lurking in the shadows of his ship.
Johan Renck, whose credits include “Chernobyl,” “Last Panthers,” and “Downloading Nancy,” is directing from a script by Colby Day.
“As we prepare for our voyage to Chopra, I couldn’t be more pleased to have found the perfect partner in Adam,” Renck said. “And now, with the support of the brilliant Netflix family, I am profoundly excited to set off on our impossible journey.”

The first sequel is in the can and the second is almost complete but the universe has changed in the 11 years since cinema’s biggest sci-fi blockbuster
If James Cameron’s Avatar were a pop song it would be Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, an epic concoction that brings immense joy the first time it is experienced but eventually becomes nulled by its cultural ubiquity. Or perhaps Spaceman by Babylon Zoo, a startlingly popular effort that never got the follow-up it required to make its creator anything more than a cosmic one-hit wonder.
Or so we might have thought until this week, when Cameron emerged from the creeping cobwebs of time to announce, that Avatar parts 2 and 3 are almost ready. Avatar 2, apparently, is done and dusted, while Avatar 3 is “sort of 95% complete”.

Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley embarks on a wild intergalactic adventure in the new animated video for his cover of Deep Purple’s “Space Truckin’.” The track will appear on Frehley’s new album of covers, Origins Vol. 2, out September 18th.
Frehley delivers a faithful take on “Space Truckin’,” cranking up the guitars a bit to give Deep Purple’s pioneering hard rock sound some of the arena rock punch that their successors (like Kiss) would popularize in the late-Seventies/early-Eighties. Frehley recorded the song with drummer Matt Star and keyboard player Rob Sabino.

Exclusive: Two-time Oscar winner Andrew Stanton is in early talks we hear to direct Chairman Spaceman for Searchlight Pictures and Simon Kinberg’s Genre Films.

Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Tuesday.
This week’s question: Who is your favorite TV doctor of all time? (Doctor Who does not count.)
Damian Holbrook (@damianholbrook), TV Guide Magazine
I am not a fan of how TV usually represents doctors. They are mostly either super earnest and “I am going to save you at the risk of my career!” annoying or the “doesn’t play by the rules” rebel who rides a motorcycle down the ER hallway. Both are tired. And don’t even start me on the hard-ass doctors who obviously know everything and show it off while parading a crew of new residents through a massive hospital during the opening of soooooo many pilots. We get it: Their job is their life and they have a secret soft center.

This article contains spoilers for Preacher.
I don’t know about you, but each glimpse AMC reveals for Preacher’s new season gets me more excited than the last one. And why not—this is the show’s fourth and final season, after all. And from the looks of this exclusive sneak peek, Preacher is poised to deliver nothing less than Armageddon itself. For fans of the Vertigo cult-favorite comic by Garth Ennis and the late Steve Dillon, these last ten episodes create quite the bittersweet dilemma. It’s one thing to see Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), Tulip O’Hare (Ruth Negga), and Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) take on Herr Starr (Pip Torrens) and the Grail in a final showdown, but it’s quite another to realize that we may never see another TV show...

Drake’s music taste can move the needle for a new artist. Josh Duhamel is determined to have a baseball-playing son — and isn’t above bribing him a little along the way.
During a Friday chat with Ellen DeGeneres on her daytime talk show, the Love, Simon star revealed his 4-year-old son Axl Jack with ex Fergie is being fully exposed to both of his parents’ loves.

"Life Goes On" for Fergie.
The 41-year-old singer released a new single on Friday, singing about what sounds like an apathetic relationship.
"Life goes on, with or without you/Damn it, baby, what you gonna do," she croons on the mid-tempo track. "You could go or you could stay/Who cares anyway?" About two-and-a-half minutes in, Fergie even breaks into one of her signature raps. Listen below!

"Life Goes On" evokes a similar feeling to her 2006 hit, "Big Girls Don't Cry," and seems to mark a complete 180 from her last single, the fast-paced, tongue-in-cheek "M.I.L.F. $."
While the new song's lyrics hardly touch on any hot-button issues, its release comes at a time of, in Fergie's words, "madness," following the results of the U.S. election this week.

It takes real resolve to stand up for your beliefs, but it takes courage not to quit after the pressure mounts, especially when life all but quits on you. That’s what happened with left-handed pitcher Bill “Spaceman” Lee, an outspoken, controversial figure who played for the Boston Red Sox and later the Montreal Expos. The new biographical film “Spaceman” follows the true story of Lee (played by Josh Duhamel) after he was let go by the Expos after clashing with management and protesting the release of a teammate. After spiraling downward trying to catch on with another pro team, Lee finds a lifeline in an undermanned local Senior League that desperately wants him to join. Lee casts aside his ego and finds true freedom by realizing he doesn’t need to be a professional to play baseball. Watch an exclusive clip from the film below.
