If a Pier One commercial downed three boxes of wine
PointlessNonsuch21 March 2023
This movie is a test to get through. Each character is entirely unlikeable, unredeemable, and one dimensional. As someone who watches bad movies for fun, this movie wasn't bad in the good way. It was bad in the worst way.

It's a movie about a bunch of spoiled, rich, entitled white people getting together to be insufferable together, torturing each other with their vapid, self obsessed, yammering and narcissism. Add to that the stiff acting, poor dialogue, and inhuman way each person interacts with each other and each scene and you get "Fransgiving".

The worst part about this movie is knowing that none of the characters will have to be held accountable for how terrible they are, with Fran being the worst. At no point do you feel pity for her, her friend, or their situation. It's like an being able to watch the children of nepotism fail their way upwards, despite contributing nothing.

I watched this movie for free on Tubi, and I still feel like I've been ripped off and paid too much money for the experience. But, if you want to feel how to make an hour long movie feel like it was three, I invite you to burn your brain cells on "Fransgiving".

Mel was the best character, though. Girl killed it.

What's the point?
A very bland introspective look at the negativity of get togetherness. This Friendsgiving was an absolute mess.

I understand a lot of the nuovo movies need to have that visceral look and feel but this has 6 characters that are totally unlikeable.

The humor is non-existent and the story is slow. I think it was 1 hour and 18 minutes but felt like three hours of nothingness.

I get it, the movie went for that haphazard feel but there was no direction. I really don't understand what is considered humor nowadays.

The formula for humor is to at least get a chuckle and this movie lacks any of this.

A Thanksgiving film for our generation!
snrfbg21 November 2022
Finally a Thanksgiving movie!! I loved this new and unique take on a holiday film. The characters are super funny and I found myself relating to each of them. The movie really captured the feeling of tension that can happen when hosting a Friendsgiving and your life is falling apart. At the beginning of the film, you meet characters who seem somewhat irritating, but by the end, you find yourself rooting for each of the characters and empathizing with them. The visuals are stunning and so perfectly captured the fall, woody vibe I think the team was going for. I loved the confessionals and the close up shots that further added to the feeling of tension in the cabin!

Original Millennial Cult Classic

Tropey, cute and a bit raunchy. We all know people like these characters, we all experience tension around the holidays and this movie made me feel a little bit better about my Turkey recipe. It's funny but is matched with some raw emotion. I think that Fran tries her best and really (kinda) does learn a lesson in the end. Mel the heroin addict is hilarious. The best friend Parker is annoying at first, but once she breaks becomes more relatable. Atticus is a total dweeb, and I read online that he is actually a rapper irl. The other boys are just kinda in the background, definitely a female forward film.

Hilarity, anxiety, what holiday gathering doesn't have the two?
kevin-9787522 November 2022
This holiday theme film has some well timed laughs and lines that were rather unique. The relationships/conflicts take one down a rather uncomfortable road "somewhat like Side Ways" and then wraps with one appreciating and embracing every character for their uniqueness. The way this movie is told as a documentary makes it entertaining, and different from most. I found myself hanging on to and looking forward to those scenes. The length of the film is perfect for watching watching with a group. Despite some funny raunchy language, appropriate from most late teens and adults. Highly recommend, need more made like this!!

Millennial Thanksgiving
floydmr21 June 2023
Fransgiving is a beautifully shot and edited film. Is this film for everyone? Probably not, but it's has the makings of a cult classic for the right group. The film shows how a motley crew of characters, all with their own flaws, can come together to create a thanksgiving of their own. With awkward scenes and cringeworthy moments, sometimes you want the characters to do and be better, but their flaws show a caricature of millennial issues. This film isn't trying to push any message or preach on any topic, it is purely for entertainment and for that I love it. I laughed throughout the film and the fact that it doesn't take itself too seriously is my favorite part.

Not our fault
gvseostud22 November 2022
My niece has been at many thanksgivings at our house and I just want to say for the record NONE of this happened at our house. Now we know what she was day dreaming about at the dinner table.

Her bad not ours. But still a good movie. This review is still too short so I had to say more: we still love our niece in spite of this movie. Still too short so I have to admit my wife and my niece didn't always get along but they still love each other, and are even on speaking terms.

Actually we really liked the swing set scene and the barf scen in the toilet (those with eating disorders please be advised) and my wife liked the deer. There are scenes that depict violence against turkeys but they did not suffer at least during filming. So there's that.
