Salem's Lot is widely regarded as one of Stephen King's best - and perhaps more importantly, most terrifying - novels, which is why the new adaptation currently streaming on Max simply didn't cut it for the majority of fans and critics.

It turns out that there was a much longer cut of the film that Dauberman ultimately trimmed down for a leaner runtime.

The filmmaker revealed in a recent interview with Den of Geek, “My first cut was about three hours. There’s a lot left out. My first draft of the script is 180-odd pages or something because you’re trying to include everything. And a lot of it has to do with a lot of the secondary characters and stuff that I spoke about. So it was sad to see that stuff go, but it’s like a necessary evil.”

Variety reports that Corenswet recently appeared on the Manly Things (Sort of) podcast, where he spoke of his Kryptonian transformation.

Corenswet explained, “I wasn’t 238 (pounds) when we started shooting. I was 238 at my max. I didn’t fit into any of my pants.” The new Kal-El actor spoke candidly about getting used to the new weight and he joked about his realization that he had become a 2Xl shirt size when he attended the table read for Superman. Alan Tudyk is one of those actors who can do anything, from stone-cold killers to crime-solving aliens to slow-witted roosters, and now he might be joining Superman on the big screen. Exclusive: The BBC is developing a drama series about the Piper Alpha disaster, one of the most catastrophic offshore oil incidents of all time and the worst in terms of lives lost.

The drama comes around 35 years after the disaster, which took place off the coast of Scotland on a North Sea oil rig that at the time accounted for around 10% of the North Sea’s oil and gas production.

The BBC, Scottish producer Stv Studios and writer James Wood are in the research phase, we are told, and the show is yet to go into production or be given the green light. After airing on Rte in Ireland last September, all six episodes of the darkly comedic crime drama Obituary made their way over to the Hulu streaming service in November. Now, Variety reports that Obituary season 2 has been given the greenlight and, like its predecessor, is expected to consist of six episodes.

Written by Ray Lawlor (Le Ceangal) and directed by John Hayes (Dublin Murders) and Oonagh Kearney (Vardy vs. Rooney), Obituary has the following synopsis: 24-year-old Elvira Clancy is feeling a little unfulfilled, although she adores her new job writing obituaries, but when her newspaper falls on hard times and her boss cuts her salary, she finds herself being paid per obituary overnight. When she “accidentally” kills a nasty piece of work in the town, she discovers she might have a previously untapped bloodlust!

She relishes using ever more crafty methods to kill off the town’s unpleasant residents while making them look like accidents.

If you think about it in broad strokes, the hit British sitcom Derry Girls is strikingly similar to It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, with one obvious difference — Derry Girls won an Emmy.

Amazon Prime Video has cancelled the historical fantasy series “My Lady Jane” after its first season failed to attract enough viewers. The show, which premiered June 27 with all eight episodes released at once, told a revisionist tale of Lady Jane Grey, England’s queen for nine days in 1553.

Based on the young adult novels by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton and Jodi Meadows, “My Lady Jane” blended elements of different genres to retell the traditional historical narrative from a new perspective. It featured humans called Ethians who could transform into animals and placed Lady Jane in a leading role as she sought to control her own destiny.

Despite an ensemble cast led by Emily Bader as Lady Jane Grey and Edward Bluemel as Lord Guildford Dudley, and production from experienced talent like Jamie Babbit and executive producers Gemma Burgess and Meredith Glynn, the show failed to break into Nielsen’s top ten streaming rankings.

“My Lady Jane” has been canceled at Amazon Prime Video, Variety has confirmed.

The historical fantasy drama series aired one eight-episode season at the streamer, which dropped in its entirety on June 27.

The cast of the series included: Emily Bader, Edward Bluemel, Jordan Peters, Anna Chancellor, Dominic Cooper, Kate O’Flynn, Rob Brydon, Abbie Hern, Isabella Brownson, Robyn Betteridge, Henry Ashton, Máiréad Tyers, Michael Workeye, Joe Klocek, Brandon Grace, and Will Keen.

The show was inspired by the book of the same name written by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows.

The live-action Spider-Man Noir series at Amazon has cast Abraham Popoola as a series regular, Variety has learned.

Popoola joins previously announced lead Nicolas Cage in the series as well as cast members Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, and Li Jun Li. The show, currently titled “Spider-Noir,” was formally ordered to series in May with Cage in the lead role. As previously reported, the show will debut domestically on MGM+’s linear channel and then globally on Amazon Prime Video.

Per the official logline, the show “tells the story of an aging and down on his luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.”

The name of Popoola’s character is being kept under wraps, but the official character description states he is “a World War I veteran who is looking for an opportunity to get ahead.

Abraham Popoola (Atlas) has been tapped as a series regular opposite Nicolas Cage in Spider-Noir, the upcoming MGM+ and Prime Video live-action series based on the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir. On the Sony Pictures TV-produced series, which has been renamed from its original title Noir to highlight its Spider-Man universe lineage, Popoola will play a World War I veteran who is looking for an opportunity to get ahead.

De Faría is set to star in the serial killer film Romanticizing Monsters for director Berkley Brady (Dark Nature).

De Faría will be taking on the role of Amelia Velez, a reporter and true crime podcaster investigating a series of missing person cases linked to an active serial killer that her boss and the police don’t believe exists.

Lou Dobbs, the conservative political pundit and longtime host of “Lou Dobbs Tonight,” on CNN and then Fox Business Network, has died. He was 78.
