Joseph Gordon-Levitt is set to lead the horror feature “Pendulum,” written and directed by “Black Swan” scribe Mark Heyman.
The film will be produced by Darren Aronofsky for Protozoa, Jacob Jaffke (“MaXXXine,” “Dream Scenario”) for Motel Mojave and Dave Caplan (“Longlegs”) for C2, who will also fully finance. The picture will start principal photography in March 2025 in New Mexico, with Black Bear launching the project to buyers internationally.
In “Pendulum,” young couple Patrick (Gordon-Levitt) and Abigail journey to a new-age retreat in New Mexico, drawn by the possibility of healing after a traumatic event. Patrick is willing to do anything to help his wife, but becomes distrustful of the retreat’s enigmatic leader even as Abigail falls under her spell. As paranoia builds, the couple must determine if the group’s unconventional spiritual practices offer genuine healing – or mask a terrifying truth that threatens to consume them both.

Nicolas Cage’s net worth should’ve come to par with some of the A-listers in Hollywood. At one point in his career, Cage was one of the highest-paid actors in the industry, earning $20 million each for Gone in Sixty Seconds, Windtalkers, and National Treasure. However, his net worth came crashing down when his spending habits got out of his hands.

He owed debts to the IRS and a couple of other financial institutions. The actor claimed that he paid off the debts by taking on multiple films in a year, including even video-on-demand movies. His net worth went from over $100 million in the early 2000s to a mere $25 million and is currently reported to be $40 million.

In Michael Samoski's 2021 drama "Pig," Nicolas Cage plays a quiet, bearded recluse named Rob Feld who lives in a remote woodland cabin with his unnamed pet pig. The pig is a skilled truffle forager, and Rob makes a living selling truffles to a restaurant supplier (Alex Wolff) who occasionally drives out to his cabin. Rob clearly has a dark past, but has seemingly found peace in the woods. One night, however, Rob is attacked, and his pig is stolen. Rob has to trek into nearby Portland to retrieve his animal friend, and, we learn, confront his past.
As the film progresses, we discover that Rob had unusual connections in the world of Portland's high-end restaurateurs, and that he participated in eatery-related underground fighting rings (!). He's also still in mourning over the death of his wife years before, which was the primary impetus driving Rob to become a recluse. More than anything,...

Tim Meadows has been cast in CBS’s upcoming pilot “Dmv.”
The former “SNL” cast member is the first to join the cast of “Dmv,” which was ordered to pilot by the network in August. The single-cam workplace comedy, which hails from CBS Studios, is written by Dana Klein, who executive produces alongside Aaron Kaplan, Wendi Trilling, Robyn Meisinger.
The official logline for “Dmv” is as follows: Based on award winning author Katherine Heiny’s short story, a single camera workplace comedy set at the place everyone dreads going most: the Dmv. Our quirky and lovable characters are making minimum wage, doing a thankless job where customers are annoyed before they even walk in the door. Good thing they have each other.
Meadows will play Gregg, a former high school English teacher, who likes to get through the driving tests, and the day, as quickly as possible, per the official character description.

Luca Guadagnino’s “Queer” made its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on Monday, September 9. His adaptation of William S. Burroughs’ novel stars Daniel Craig and Drew Starkey as the two showcase just how ruinous an addictive, life-altering love can be.
In the film, there’s a graphic sex scene involving Craig and Starkey, where the camera starts on them undressing, then pivots out the window. In “Call Me By Your Name,” Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer begin having sex, only for the camera to gear toward the window and cut to another scene. However, with “Queer,” instead of cutting to another scene, it cuts to Craig and Starkey going at it harder than any sex scene Guadagnino has portrayed.
When we asked Guadagnino if the “Queer” scene was rebuking criticisms of the “Call Me By Your Name” sex scenes, at the TIFF premiere, he told us,...

Nicolas Cage will portray John Madden, the legendary American football coach and sports commentator, in director David O. Russell’s upcoming biographical drama “Madden.”
“Nicolas Cage, one of our greatest and most original actors, will portray the best of the American spirit of originality, fun, and determination in which anything is possible as beloved national legend John Madden,” Russell said in a statement. “Together with the ferocious style, focus, and inspired individualism of Al Davis, owner of the underdog Oakland Raiders, the feature will be about the joy, humanity and genius that was John Madden in a wildly inventive, cool world of the 1970s.”
Madden, who died in 2021 at the age of 85, was the burly, garrulous head coach of the Oakland Raiders in the 1970s, leading the team to many championship games and its first Super Bowl victory. He became a mainstay of television football coverage, spending three decades as...

Distributor Neon has one of its biggest hits in theaters right now with Osgood Perkins‘s “Longlegs,” a serial killer thriller that has been compared (mostly positively) to Jonathan Demme‘s “The Silence of the Lambs” and David Fincher‘s “Se7en.” It’s Neon’s highest-grossing movie ever, surpassing the $53.4 million domestic gross for Bong Joon Ho‘s Best Picture Oscar-winning “Parasite.” It was at $71.3 million after this past Sunday.

Independent studio A24 may have scored one of the most sought-after casts of the year. Sources confirm that Zendaya and Robert Pattinson are in early negotiations to headline director Kristoffer Borgli’s new project, titled “The Drama.”
The film would continue the success both actors have found balancing mainstream blockbusters with critically-acclaimed indies. Zendaya just dominated the box office with her role in “Dune: Part Two” and shone in the tennis drama “Challengers,” while Pattinson most recently donned the bat suit for “The Batman” and has worked with auteur directors like Robert Eggers.
Though plot details are under tight wraps, “The Drama” is said to revolve around a romance that takes an intriguing detour as a couple prepares to walk down the aisle. Borgli made waves at Cannes with “Sick of Myself” and his comedic skills were on display in “Dream Scenario,” signaling he’ll bring a singular vision.

A24 is collaborating once again with Dream Scenario director Kristoffer Borgli, with Zendaya and Robert Pattinson on board for The Drama.
There was plenty of critical acclaim for Kristoffer Borgli’s 2023 offbeat drama Dream Scenario. The film starred Nicolas Cage as a college professor who becomes a global celebrity when he starts appearing in everybody’s dreams across the globe. The film possessed that trademark unconventionality that we’ve come to expect from A24 films and scored some good reviews too.
As such – despite publicly expressing a desire to movie its projects further into the mainstream – there was always a chance that A24 would want to be involved in Borgli’s next project. It looks like the studio will get to have its cake and eat it, given that the filmmaker is set to sign up two major names for his next film, simply titled The Drama.

This marks another film collaboration between A24 and Square Peg, with others including “Hereditary,” “Midsommar,” “Dream Scenario” and the upcoming films “Death of a Unicorn” starring Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega, and “Eddington” starring Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal and Emma Stone.
It’s been a big year for Zendaya, who led this year’s hits “Dune: Part Two” and “Challengers.” She’s next set to reprise her Emmy and Golden Globe winning role as Rue Bennett in the third season of HBO’s “Euphoria.”
Pattinson will next be seen in Bong Joon-ho’s science fiction drama “Mickey 17,” due out in January.

Nicolas Cage has turned around his film career in recent years, starring in more indie films. He was recently seen in one of the most terrifying films of the year, Longlegs. Cage earlier starred in Dream Scenario, which earned him a nomination at this year’s Golden Globes. Cage’s script selection has been receiving praise ever since the critical acclaim for 2018’s Mandy.

Cage revealed that his experiments with his roles usually scared the big studios, which pushed him to the indie film scene. The Moonstruck actor must have realized that his role as a melancholic truffle forager in Pig would’ve never sat well with these big studios.

Spoilers for "Longlegs" follow.
It seems to happen like a clockwork. A new Nicolas Cage movie will arrive, and with it comes a question: "Is Nicolas Cage a good actor?" Cage has been working for decades now, but at some point, some folks got it in their heads that the off-kilter performer was bad at his job. To be fair, this could have something to do with the quality of the films he appears in. Cage once got himself in trouble with the IRS -- he made lavish purchases (including buying a dinosaur skull that turned out to be stolen), and according to CNBC, ended up owing the IRS "$6.3 million in property taxes."
To offset his financial woes, Cage began working -- a lot. He would seemingly take any job thrown his way, and as a result, he appeared in a lot of direct-to-video stinkers. Now, I'm not going to...

Este fin de semana, “Longlegs” ha arrasado en la taquilla estadounidense, situándose en el puesto número 2 de la taquilla, solo superada por la película familiar “Gru 4: Mi Villano Favorito”. A.I. may be the future, but it’s certainly not the one Nicolas Cage would want.
It’s been a while since the sundry technological advancements materializing across the globe started seeping into the cracks and crevices of Hollywood. Sure, change is the law of life and all that but – in the golden words of Michael Scott – too much change is not a good thing, ask the climate.
Nicolas Cage in Dream Scenario (2023) | A24
That being said, there have been numerous industry juggernauts, including the likes of Tom Cruise and Keanu Reeves, who’ve verbalized their distaste towards A.I. and deepfakes. Now we can add Cage’s name to that list as well.

If there’s one thing that scares the wits out of the Longlegs star, it’s artificial intelligence, and he has no qualms about vocalizing his vexation about the same.

Nicolas Cage deserves at least one more installment to his action adventure National Treasure franchise. However, even after 17 years of the release of the second installment, the updates on the movie franchise have been vehemently silent. While most fans want National Treasure to be a trilogy, Cage would need an addition of one more movie to complement that.

National Treasure has been quite a success, but Disney somewhat moved away from the movie series. While the studio put the Cage’s franchise into a coma, a new Dinesy show, National Treasure: Edge of History, was at work but not featuring Cage. After one season, the show was canceled. Now, fans finally have a positive update on the original franchise.

Bret Easton Ellis’ series at HBO is inching closer to reality. HBO has tapped Kristoffer Borgli to direct the series adaptation of the Ellis book “The Shards.”
Borgli, who directed last year’s “Dream Scenario” starring Nicolas Cage and 2022’s “Sick of Myself,” is attached to direct and serve as an executive producer on the series that’s currently in development at HBO.
Ellis published “The Shards” just last year, and the series per its official logline is “set in the early ’80s and tracks a group of privileged Los Angeles High School friends as a serial killer strikes across the city.”
But what makes “The Shards” ripe for an adaptation is that it’s a pulpy and sexy yet sprawling and unwieldy piece of fiction featuring much of Ellis’ own biography. While it follows the murders of a serial killer known as The Trawler with great detail, it also...

Nicolas Cage never went away, but he’s had a recent career resurgence. “Pig” and “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent” were both critical successes for the star. Last year’s more commercial “Renfield” put Cage’s talent front and center as he took on the iconic, villainous role of Dracula. And the surreal, nuanced turn in “Dream Scenario” even put him back in the Oscar conversation last year, even if he ultimately missed a nomination.

Nicolas Cage is going back into the Spider-Verse. Amazon, during its first-ever upfront presentation, announced that Cage will star in “Noir,” the live-action series based on the Spider-Man Noir comic series from Marvel.
Way back in early 2023, IndieWire reported that Amazon was in development on a live-action series inspired by the Spider-Man Noir character, who Cage famously portrayed in the animated “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” as a grizzled, tortured, black-and-white noir gumshoe who also happened to be a superhero bitten by a radioactive spider. But no cast had been confirmed for the live-action show, and Amazon surprised advertisers by revealing that Cage would step back into the role, making it the first time he’s done a TV series since he filmed a pilot at the start of his career.

Big news for the "They don't make 'em like they used to" crowd: They just did and, as those who were paying attention know, it's been playing in theaters nationwide for weeks now. "Love Lies Bleeding" lies at the crossroads between a throwback '80s noir and a queer romance that's unabashedly of its time, with both aspects coming together to create an intoxicating mix that's mighty difficult to resist. Starring Kristen Stewart and Katy O'Brian as a pair of star-crossed lovers who wind up right in the crosshairs of a local crime lord, director Rose Glass' iron-pumping, steroid-injecting, and thoroughly sweat-dripping thriller is one of those movies that practically leaps off the screen and swallows audiences up in the grime and muck of its world.

In the movie Dream Scenario, starring Nicholas Cage, a biology professor named Paul Matthews starts appearing in the nightmares of random people all over the country.
None of these people understand why, nor do they know anything about Paul beyond recognizing his unusual face -- which gives them flashbacks of the terrible dream.
Paul himself is perplexed because he has not intentionally done anything to these people, nor is he a Freddy Krueger-type monster who controls a higher plane of existence.
But when Paul becomes infamous for his cameo appearances in peoples' dreams, he begins to see scorn, fear, hatred, and eventually violence coming from people who hold him personally responsible for their nightmares.
As I finished Dream Scenario, I realized this is what some right-leaning celebrities must feel like.

In the past six months, Nicolas Cage has expressed confusion over his cameo as Superman in The Flash, discussed his desire to do TV and held forth on potentially retiring from movies. This week, in an interview with Deadline at SXSW, Cage expressed indifference at the thought of returning to the comic book genre.
“Would I return to the comic book genre?” Cage asked himself, before continuing with a lukewarm, “I guess never say never.”
That’s hardly a ringing endorsement. Cage maintains there’s much more to him that a comic book geek.
“Much has been made about that. My comic book collection just goes viral quickly, exponentially, and I feel like in some ways it’s eclipsed what I’m really reading,” Cage told Deadline, “like [Nikolai Golgol’s] “The Overcoat” or Herman Hesse. It’s like I’m still stuck at 12 years old with the NyQuil and the lemon cookies and The Incredible Hulk No.

Nicolas Cage has ruled out a third 'National Treasure' movie. The 60-year-old actor played treasure hunter Benjamin Franklin Gates in the 2004 adventure movie and the 2007 sequel 'National Treasure: Book of Secrets' but has emphatically denied the possibility of another film.He told Screen Rant: "No, there is no ‘National Treasure 3’. If you want to find treasure, don't look at Disney, okay? It's not there."Hopes of another 'National Treasure' flick are also remote because Cage suggested last year that he may retire from the movie business soon and only has "three or four" films left in him.He told Vanity Fair magazine: "It’s starting to solidify - I’m starting to cement my plan. I may have three or four more movies left in me."I do feel I’ve said what I’ve had to say with cinema. I think I took...
