Emma Watson rose to prominence at a very young age after she portrayed the fan-favorite character of Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series. She not only garnered attention but also experience, after which she starred in movies including The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Bling Ring, Noah, Beauty and the Beast, Little Women, and more. The actress is often called a role model, but she has not been keen on the term, as she explained that the term puts the fear of God into her.

When Emma Watson Denied Fifty Shades (Photo Credit – Facebook/JioCinema)
Emma Watson has always been known for her intelligent, boundary-pushing roles—as the brainy Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series or as the feminist icon in The Perks of Being a Wallflower. After conquering the wizarding world, she transitioned seamlessly into projects like The Bling Ring and Little Women, constantly evolving her career with thought-provoking and inspiring performances.
But despite her broad range, Emma Watson has never been one to shy away from setting the record straight regarding controversial roles. One of the most iconic moments was when she publicly trashed the idea of playing the lead in the notorious Fifty Shades of Grey. Turns out, even for Emma, there are some lines she’s just not willing to cross.

Christoph Schlingensief's The German Chainsaw Massacre has arrived on streaming for the very first time after languishing for decades as an infamous but obscure film. The imaginatively disgusting film frantically allegorizes the reunification of Germany after the fall of the Berlin Wall as a kind of grindhouse horror. Instead of fighting off a deranged group of redneck cannibals (as in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre), The German Chainsaw Massacre follows an East German fugitive who, fleeing to the West after stabbing her husband, falls into the hands of a tribe of incestuous cannibals inhabiting a dilapidated factory. The streaming release announcement notes:
"Called 'one of the greatest artists who ever lived' by Austrian novelist and playwright Elfriede Jelinek, Schlingensief — who died in 2010 at age 49 — was a multi-hyphenate whirling dervish of chaotic creative energy and relentless provocation, the inheritor of the mantle of German cinema’s foremost enfant terrible left...

How Did Kirsten Dunst Get Robbed In 2007? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Actress Kirsten Dunst had her own heist drama before the infamous Bling Ring started making headlines. Flashback to August 9, 2007—Dunst’s Soho Grand Hotel penthouse was allegedly raided by two men who walked away with her iPod, a $13,000 purse, and other valuables. Yep, her How to Lose Friends and Alienate People shoot that day took an unexpected turn.
According to reports, the suspects waited for Dunst to leave with British actor Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead) and her assistant, Liat Baruch. Security cameras later caught the men leaving the scene, but not without a catch: one of the alleged robbers, Jarrod Beinerman, was arrested shortly after. His defense? He claimed they left the penthouse empty-handed. “[He] went there to check out what was going on,” said his attorney, James Kirschner. Sure, Jan.

While the Harry Potter franchise spawned numerous blockbuster careers, one period drama from 2019 is still the best thing that any of its young stars have done since. The Harry Potter movies brought their stars into fame at a young age, making Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe, and Emma Watson household names before the actors had even entered their teens. The best movies that Harry Potter cast members have made since the series ended are proof that they had talent to spare, but not all of their ambitious projects have paid off in the 13 years since 2011.

We might be adults or quite old now, but when it comes to Harry Potter movies, the child in us is always ready to say Wingardium Leviosa or Expelliarmus! Growing up, we all wished to be at Hogwarts to fight the dark goblins and have the magic wand. That’s the amount of craze that the Harry Potter movies hold. They created a world of magic and mystery that captivated all of us all these years.
The movie series based on Jk Rowling’s novels starred Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint as the iconic characters of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley. It goes way back to when the first-ever Harry Potter movie was released in November 2001 and ran across eight films over 10 years.

Harmony Korines second Edglrd production, Baby Invasion, is a step forward from Aggro Dr1ft in that at least you can decipher the visuals. The film is described as a first-person shooter that blends virtual universes and our reality, but Im starting to think Korine doesnt play video games. Baby Invasion continues EDGLRDs mission of creating anti-movies that Korine dubs blinx, and in that regard, hes skyrocketing toward success. Its an 80-minute music video that wants to be The Bling Ring meets Grand Theft Auto meets Hardcore Henry. Still, even thats an unfair comparison because Korine wants nothing to do with conventional cinema. He thinks hes cracked the code on what comes next and golly, do I hope hes miserably wrong.

Harry Potter brought a world full of magic and wizards, where anything seemed possible. The first movie, titled Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, was released way back in 2001. And even after several decades and eight movies later, the franchise is still loved by millions. Based on the novels of acclaimed author J.K. Rowling, the project also brought forth three new faces out in the open.

Director Francis Ford Coppola names his favorite of Sofia Coppola's films. Sofia Coppola is the daughter of auteur director Francis Ford Coppola, who is best known for his work on films such as Apocalypse Now, The Conversation, and The Godfather trilogy. Born in 1971, Sofia Coppola began directing feature films in 1999, when she made her feature debut with The Virgin Suicides. Since then, Coppola has been the mastermind behind several well-regarded films, including Lost in Translation, The Beguiled, The Bling Ring, and most recently, the Priscilla Presley drama Priscilla, which was released last year.
Speaking with Konbini, Francis Ford Coppola reveals what his favorite Sofia Coppola film is. The filmmaker began by praising his director daughter's work in general, saying that "most of her films are great." He then settled upon one of her films in particular, a movie called Somewhere. He said that Somewhere is "in some ways [his] favorite,...

Paramount Animation and Hasbro Entertainment’s Transformers One, the first animated Transformers movie in close to 40 years, looks to liven up the mid-September box office with a domestic start in the low-$30Ms with potential for upside.
Transformers One will keep the domestic box office at its excellent clip. Through the last weekend of April, the domestic B.O. stood at $2.07 billion, 20% behind 2023. Since then, through last weekend, the domestic box office has made an additional $4 billion for a running Ytd cume of $6.08 billion, now 12% behind last year.
Advance ticket sales are solid from Thursday through Saturday, ahead of last year’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem ($28M 3-day) and Trolls Band Together ($30M).
Josh Cooley directed what has been described for months as one of Paramount’s highest-testing animated movies. The $75M production tells the origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, who were buddies before becoming sworn enemies.

Mika Gustafson’s feature has some obvious influences in The Virgin Suicides or American Honey but wears them lightly in this fresh and beautifully cut debut
Like an unusually designed coat featuring quirky details and an interesting fabric choice from a young designer’s first collection, Swedish writer-director Mika Gustafson’s feature debut has raw edges and some sloppy stitching in places, but the whole is fresh, directional and beautifully cut. Sure, it’s not hard to spot the influences that consciously or not infuse the work, from Sofia Coppola’s The Virgin Suicides and The Bling Ring (with their lolling sisters and girl-gang antics respectively), to Andrea Arnold’s studies of lost or neglected adolescents and the tender social realism of Hirokazu Kore-eda. The Bling Ring captures the superficial materialism and celebrity culture of the 2010s. Sofia Coppola uses sharp satire to explore the allure of fame and hollow material desires. Emma Watson's performance as Nicki Moore adds layers to a cast of mostly one-dimensional characters.
Looking back on Sofia Coppolas satirical crime film The Bling Ring more than ten years later reveals how much the world of celebrity has changed. While young peoples need for external validation means this story of fame-obsessed teenagers robbing celebrities' houses will always be relevant, it also points to a bygone era of consumerism and tabloid culture where Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan were practically Hollywood royalty. With the power of hindsight, The Bling Ring is a unique time capsule of the 2010s that unfortunately fails to explore its subject with the level of depth needed to be truly compelling.

The notion of powerful Hollywood family dynasties and nepo babies is more controversial now than it has ever been before. Still, Sofia Coppola has proved time and time again that she is a talented storyteller in her own right, despite whatever advantages came from being the daughter of Francis Ford Coppola. After breaking out big with her debut feature, The Virgin Suicides, Coppola won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for Lost in Translation, a beautiful twist on the first encounter premise that has continued to inspire debates over its ambiguous ending two decades later. Although her films continued to receive acclaim for their transporting visual style and rich characterization, The Bling Ring was seen as the first misfire of Coppolas career when it made its debut in the summer of 2013.

Few people nowadays probably can’t say that they have a favorite film company because of how much the industry has changed. The film genre has become oversaturated with superhero films, leading most people to start a conversation by asking, “Marvel or DC?” We don’t talk about what other companies are putting out or even acknowledge the future films that are coming out. Also, the way Walt Disney Studios has bought other companies makes it challenging for the common audience to step out and watch anything else. However, one company has been talked about a lot recently due to the films they’re distributing or making, and it's the A24 company. Monroe's horror performances are riveting and diverse, showcasing her ability to stand out in the genre beyond traditional tropes. In "Villains," Monroe breaks from her usual final girl roles to play a crime-committing character, displaying versatility in horror films. "Longlegs" highlights Monroe's commanding presence, carrying the film with a constant sense of unease and detachment in her detective role.
After her first role in the 2012 drama At Any Price, Maika Monroe has been acting steadily and has become known for her memorable and riveting horror characters. Before her breakout part in It Follows in 2014, she appeared in The Bling Ring in a minor capacity as Beach Girl and Mandy Chambers in the 2013 adaptation of the Joyce Maynard novel Labor Day written and directed by Jason Reitman. While Monroe has explored other genres, from science-fiction like The 5th Wave to the crime film Brothers by Blood, her horror performances stand out the most.

Emma Watson is one of the most widely known celebrities now, and a majority of this credit goes to the breathtaking work she did in the Harry Potter franchise for over a decade. If anything, that one particular film series gave her such immaculate success that even after 13+ years since she last embodied Hermoine Granger, fans can’t associate anyone better with the character than her.

But while this one role cemented her career and position in Hollywood, the currently-$85-million-worth Watson wasn’t okay with transforming into a multi-millionaire at such a young age. As she confessed herself, the life-changing money she received from the Harry Potter saga was so much that she couldn’t grasp even the idea of being so rich and the owner of such a fortune!

Jennifer Lawrence is pretty much one of the most tremendous leading actresses in all of Hollywood, leaving everyone baffled by not only her excellent onscreen performances but also her offscreen quirky antics. Throughout her 17-year-long career, she has effortlessly made her way to the top through the same and even holds three Academy Award nominations and one win.

Moreover, she is continuing to go strong and seems to be on the way to finally matching the same record that stands as her rival turned best friend Emma Watson’s biggest achievement as an actress: Having worked with two of the greatest production companies of all time, A24 and Apple Original Film. The Eternal City’s glitterati celebrated Sofia Coppola on Wednesday at an American Academy in Rome gala in the 17th century Villa Aurelia on Janiculum Hill.
The Oscar-winning director of “Lost in Translation,” “Marie Antoinette,” “Bling Ring” and, most recently, “Priscilla” was honored with a McKim Medal that “marks the profound relationship between Italy and the United States and recognizes the works of individuals who have contributed to the intense artistic and humanistic dialogue between the two nations,” as a statement put it.
Coppola’s ties to Rome comprise directing a 2016 production of Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata at the Italian capital’s Teatro dell’Opera featuring costumes by Valentino and the fact that “Priscilla” — which got a seven-minute standing ovation at its 2023 Venice Film Festival premiere — is produced by Rome-based producer Lorenzo Mieli.

Fred Roos, the casting director turned producer who jump-started the career of Jack Nicholson and collaborated often with Francis Ford Coppola, sharing a best picture Oscar with the filmmaker for The Godfather Part II, has died. He was 89.
Roos died Saturday at his home in Beverly Hills, a publicist announced.
It’s part of Hollywood lore that before Harrison Ford became a famous actor, he was laboring as a carpenter to make ends meet. What some might not know is that it was at Roos’ house where Ford was woodworking when the casting director befriended him, eventually pushing him for roles in George Lucas’ American Graffiti (1973) and Star Wars (1977) and Coppola’s The Conversation (1974).
And it was Roos who convinced Lucas — who had been leaning toward Amy Irving — that Carrie Fisher should portray Princess Leia in Star Wars. (Roos did not have an official role on that film.)

Austin Butler's streak of poorly reviewed films ended following "The Dead Don't Die." Butler's recent projects like "Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood" and "Dune: Part Two" have been critically acclaimed. His upcoming movie "The Bikeriders" is expected to continue his streak of starring in "Certified Fresh" films.
Austin Butler appeared in the zombie flick The Dead Don't Die in 2019, interestingly ending a downward trend regarding the actor's Rotten Tomatoes scores. Jim Jarmusch directed and wrote the absurdist zombie comedy, which revolves around the citizens of a small rural town the (boring) aptly named Centerville trying to survive a sudden zombie outbreak. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on May 14, 2019, before it was domestically released in theaters on June 14 of the same year. The Dead Don't Die ultimately grossed around $15 million at the box office during its theatrical run.

Sofia Coppola creatively forged her own path in filmmaking, avoiding comparisons to her father's work. Coppola's unique storytelling style led to awards for Best Director at both Venice and Cannes Film Festivals. Collaborating with top actors, she directs deeply personal stories on a minimalist budget with critical acclaim.
Sofia Coppola comes from filmmaking royalty, the daughter of Francis Ford Coppola, the director of The Godfather and Apocalypse Now. However, this made industry expectations very high when she decided not to be an actress but set her sights on becoming a film director. However, she escaped the claims of nepotism by creating her own path in the film industry. She chose not to make movies comparable to her father's and instead created deeply personal stories on a low budget.
This turned out to be a perfect decision for the director. Sofia Coppola was the first American woman to be awarded the Golden Lion,...

"Noah" continued Emma Watson's poor Rotten Tomatoes streak since it has a 41 percent Audience Score on the website. The 2014 epic biblical drama received mixed reviews; critics praised it, but audiences disagreed. Watson redeemed herself in 2019 with "Little Women," earning critical acclaim and fantastic Rotten Tomatoes scores.
Noah was surely one of the downsides of Emma Watson's career, especially because it continued a poor Rotten Tomatoes streak for the actress that wouldn't be broken until 2019. The 2014 epic biblical drama film was directed by Darren Aronofsky and written by Aronofsky and Ari Handel, and the movie chronicled the biblical story of Noah's Ark from the Book of Genesis and the Book of Enoch. Watson starred as Ila in the cast of Noah. Ila was an orphan whom Noah and Naameh, played by Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly, took in and raised as their own in the movie.

The Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg-produced World War II series Masters of the Air has something that its predecessors did not: a bona fide movie star in the lead role. Thanks to his award-winning role as the King himself in 2022’s Elvis, Austin Butler has burst onto the scene as a major acting force. And he brings that gravitas with him to portray Gale “Buck” Cleven in the nine-episode Apple TV+ series about WWII bomber pilots.

Sofia Coppola may come from film royalty, but she’s an artist all her own.
The daughter of Francis Ford Coppola, Sofia Coppola began her career as an infant — appearing as the newborn baby of Connie (Talia Shire) in the baptism scene of “The Godfather.” From there, she had a supporting role in his films “Peggy Sue Got Married” and the third “Godfather” film, filling in for the latter after original star Winona Ryder dropped out. Moving over to directing as an adult, she stunned critics with her 1999 debut feature “The Virgin Suicides,” an adaptation of Jeffrey Eugenides’ book about five mysterious sisters and their troubled home lives.
“The Virgin Suicides” was one of the most acclaimed indie films of the ‘90s, and established the visual style (a soft color palette and dreamy cinematography) as well as the thematic content that would define Coppola’s career, while teaming her up...

Sofia Coppola is an Oscar-winning director with a career that spans decades in Hollywood behind titles like Priscilla, The Bling Ring, Marie Antoinette, Lost in Translation and The Virgin Suicides, to name a few.
Despite so many memorable titles in her history demonstrating that she is a recognizable director, Coppola still sees a disparity between genders in Hollywood.
In a recent interview, Coppola reflected on the struggle to get paid close to what her male counterparts bank when directing a film.
“I just see all these men getting hundreds of millions of dollars and then I’m fighting for a tiny fraction of that,” Coppola told the BBC. “I think it’s just left over from the way the culture of that business is.”
She continued, “I’m always fighting to get it and I’m just happy to get to make my movies independently and find people that believe in them.

Sofia Coppola fans can finally get a little closer to the inside of the famed director’s mind — or, more literally, a peek at the self-proclaimed mess she creates while in the process of filmmaking.
One of the best art books released this year was “Sofia Coppola Archive: 1999-2023,” which offers a visual account of Coppola’s entire career, personal archives and ephemera.
