Just as the film makers had set up their cameras and tripods on the White House lawn, ready to record a brief speech by Presidential Candidate Ralph Nader, they were approached by a pair of troops armed with automatic weapons. The troops informed the crew that without a special permit, they would not be able to use tripods for filming. The quick thinking producer told the cameramen to pack the tripods back in their cases and proceeded to use the tripod cases as camera mounts instead! The troops were trumped and the filming went on without skipping a beat.
