Beetlejuice Beetlejuice

I was excited when I heard this movie was coming out.. but also a little nervous about how it would hold up to the original movie. I don't think this is as magical or special as the first movie. It's fine.. but it's sort of all over the place and doesn't have a great pace or balance. Some funny bits, but just didn't have the magical special balance that the first movie had. Also I felt that some scenes really dragged on for tooo long. A few fun cameos, but it's didn't all click for me. I did love the practical effects and the vibe of the afterlife scenes was pretty fun to see and experience. But just felt like it jumped around quite a bit, and the characters didn't really click like they did in the first one. Was a bit disappointed overall.
