Watch It With the Subtitles On!

I'm convinced that the writers cast this new Asian doctor just to annoy us viewers. Her lack of human expression (amplified by the fact that her glasses obscure any chance of facial expression); her monotone mumbling (subtitles on!), and her boring intonation are simply abrasive, compared to the usually excellent casting on this series. The story in this episode is interesting enough, and House is apparently trying to get back into his PPTH groove, but the oozing chancre that is Dr. Kato simply overshadows, and ultimately ruins, any chance for this show to be taken seriously at this point.

    Dull

I thought I'd make it to the end of this show because each episode had something to offer. I think it's time for a break. I'll finish the rest later. This is one vapid offering to say the least. So altruism is a symptom. Granted the guy is a piece of work, but the result is absurd. Just the diagnosis is ridiculous.

I'm also tired of the lack of give and take from a team that used to be the charm of this show. Now we have this Asian-America with no personality at all, running around acting high and mighty The return of Thirteen could have been interesting, but she is all over the place. There is no chemistry at all. She should go or stay or whatever. Her deal was over a season ago.

When you have an ensemble cast you can focus on them individually. House just bounce around all self-righteiously.

    Terrible

House has sunk into the abyss. What was once the best show ever, is now garbage, but in my opinion, because of the acting.

Dr. Park (Charlyne Yi) is perhaps the worst actor and most annoying actor I've ever seen. How did she get this part?

Dr. Adams (Odette Annable) is the same. Attractive, but can't act.

THANK YOU for finally getting rid of Thirteen (Olivia Wilde). Every time there was a close-up, she gave me the creeps!

The entertaining comedy team of "House & Wilson" is diminished and appearing forced. The writers have lost all their on-screen chemistry.

It also appears that the writers do not remember what happened to Foreman (Omar Epps) in the earlier seasons. He was blackballed from getting another job, that's why he came running back to House. And now, we find him as the Dean of Medicine. Dumb! And completely unbelievable. This is all contrived to develop some fake friction between House and Foreman.

I already have a lot of time invested in watching, and will probably see it to the end, but I do Fast-Forward a lot, and I suggest you do the same.

    going downhill

The female doctors do their best, but the writing for them is bad, and there is simply no fun. This is bad writing and the most boring that house has ever been. The female doctors casting is a failure, the small one is incredibly annoying, a squeaking nuisance. House himself is entertaining, and the prison break guy as flat as ever. There was a dull subplot involving Wilson, who is not an interesting character any more. The show is running out of steam pretty fast. That the show is watchable at all is down to Laurie, but this is putting a lot of strain on keeping the episode together. 5/10 for the show. - 0/10 for the assistants.

    • Trivia
House: "You know, the down vibe in here is ruining my 'Charlie's Angels' fantasy." The ABC series Charlie's Angels (1976) featured three beautiful women who work for a private detective agency run by a mysterious patron known only to them as Charlie. More topically, the same year as this episode premiered there was a remake Charlie's Angels (2011), but was already canceled when this episode aired.
    • Goofs
The patient points out that 70,000 people a year need a kidney transplant, but only 10,000 people die each year. House then answers that 60,000 more people should die, but that's nonsense since (virtually) every dying person will have two kidneys to offer, and each patient will be happy with one transplanted kidney. This leaves a current shortfall of 50,000 kidneys meaning only 25,000 more people would have to die, not 60,000.

Song plays in the final scene of the episode, as Thirteen (Olivia Wilde) leaves the series when House "fires" her, and the two say their final goodbyes.
