    It's Okay

Not the best I have seen but have seen much worse. Not a complete waste of time, but probably would not watch again. Acting could have been better. Storyline and idea are okay (the revenge element and people getting what they deserve is good), but it lacks something for that 8-10 rating. Maybe a bit more of a scary or supernatural element, action, something. There is a bit of a backstory, but I had trouble understanding what it was and how it tied into the movie. Not sure, but it feels like it was just put there because.

I compare it to a dish or meal that is okay but lacks a little flavor or seasoning.

    "Same Girl, What's the Problem?"

Haha I love this movie. So I think they are acting great; in a spoofy kind of way. It's so entertaining. I can't believe how much I am enjoying it. A glass of wine and a gummy or something is all you need... It is definitely worth it. It is even a little bit scary. Slightly.

I have been failing royally with Netflixx so I was happy to find this on Peacock. I was going to watch Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey but it got a little too dark. So I switched to this. I may follow it up with Black Christmas or something like that.

So I think this is about The brutal assault of a young woman which sends her to a mysterious shopkeeper. Who summons the spirit of an evil witch to visit revenge on the attackers. That is definitely the Vibe I am getting.

    It is not bad!

An enjoyable genre effort with some issues involved

After an encounter with bar patrons, a woman left beaten down by a group of guys decides to seek revenge by using a vengeful witch's spirit as a means of accomplishing this, and as it gets carried out learns the grim truth about the situation and tries to stop it from continuing.

This was a generally fun indie genre effort. One of the better elements here is the general setup and backstory of the titular being that all comes together incredibly well. The main setup of the girl returning home and trying to get her life back on track which only ends up causing her to fall foul of the other guys she used to know which soon turns into a genuine assault on her presence gives this an intriguing starting point. This gives not only the perfect amount of background on the main character which helps to make her endearing but also gives everything the right context for the entity being summoned to have the perfect starting point to be seen as a worthwhile counter to the interactions we've seen to that point so everything has a great context as a starting point. That setup provides a solid grounding for the later hauntings that take place. The cold open that shows the effects of the witch's wrath is a great way to give this a decent enough start with the mysterious nature of the summoning and how it works, which only gets enhanced by the later summoning against the guys who attacked her that have a lot to like. With the witch being shown to control and manipulate the situation to the point where the victim is stuck in a supernatural series of events that is replicated back at the other girl who summoned her, this setup generates a solid series of encounters that are quite enjoyable. It all leads to a fantastic finale where the race to stop the rampaging witch, featuring some fine action and a great reveal at the end that all combine for a lot to like about it. There are some issues to be found here that hold this down. The main factor against it is the immensely silly means through which the group of criminals escalates matters to the point they do it as quickly as it happens. From seemingly obvious bar banter hook-up comments, the idea of going straight to assault and potential rape that would've been accomplished had it not been interrupted but is so egregiously overblown it becomes ridiculous. That's the case with the murderous intent they try to impart later on which is completely misguided and has so little build-up to get there it comes off as rather comical so small an indiscretion resulted in this hard an outburst. On top of the low-budget limitations throughout here, this one has a few factors holding it back.

Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Language, Graphic Violence, and a sex scene.

Generic, but better than most 'Ouija' movies...

Needless to say that I wasn't exactly harboring much of any grand expectations to this 2023 horror movie titled "Ouija Witch". Why? Well, simply and solely because of the title. The movies that have the word 'Ouija' in them tend to be rather questionable and shoddy attempts of imitating horror movies.

However, since I had never heard about this 2023 movie from director Robert Michael Ryan, and with it being a horror movie, then I opted to give the movie a fair chance and the benefit of the doubt.

I will say that writers Cuyle Carvin, John Doolan and Robert Michael Ryan actually put together a script and storyline that proved to be adequately entertaining. Sure, this was by no means a milestone in horror cinema, nor was it an out-of-the-mind viewing experience. But it should be noted that it was certainly a notch upward in comparison to so many other movies with the word 'Ouija' in the title. And I suppose that counts for something.

The cast ensemble in the movie was mostly unfamiliar talents, aside from Sean Young. The acting performances in the movie were actually fair, and proved better than what I had expected, as I figured I would be in for wooden, rigid and questionable acting performances, as the 'Ouija' movies usually tend to be crammed with.

Visually then "Ouija Witch" wasn't overly interesting. There wasn't really much of any special effects or CGI effects in the movie. And that sort of dragged the movie down somewhat.

Watchable for a single time only, as the movie just doesn't have much of any replay value to it.

My rating of "Ouija Witch" lands on a four out of ten stars.

    It's alright

I have seen a few Ouija movies, and this is pretty par for the course. The cast is adequate, the plot is incredibly formula, but the death's are somewhat unique to each character. As I said, the plot is pretty formula, but generally speaking, it is about 20% any Ouija movie, 13% Killjoy 3, 33% I Spit on Your Grave, and 33% A Nightmare on Elm Street 5. I don't need a truly original movie, but a movie with so many tropes needs to be recognized in relation the decades of media it combined to make a passable movie. Not a bad movie, and Miley Rose is quite a looker. Please take the movie with a grain of salt that is it only okay, and you might enjoy it. Too much swearing, and maxed boobs/gore. Mid-range 5/10.
