Afsoun Hamidi, the patient, is loosely based on the real performance artist Marina Abramovic whose work Rhythm 0, 1974, where audience members were invited to do whatever they wanted to Abramovic, is the basis behind the performance artwork portrayed in the episode.

Goofs
When Rachel calls Taub, the phone showed no service. Also the phone shouldn't open the home page after he declines the call. In the home page there was an application that allows a fake call. This is because cellphones can't be used on set during a film shoot because the signal interferes with the camera and audio equipment.
