911: Lone Star season 5 is on everyone's minds, particularly because it will be the first responder drama's final season. The procedural has a lot to cover as it explains Grace's absence (Sierra McClain left the show ahead of the season), wrestles with Owen's grief over the loss of his brother, deals with a surprise visit from Tk's brother Jonah, pits Marjan and Paul against each other as they vie for lieutenant, and ramps up Carlos' obsession with solving his father's murder.
It's that last storyline that's going to open this world wide since Carlos, having been promoted to a Texas ranger, is getting a new partner. Campbell, played by Parker Young, will make his first appearance in the season 5 premiere. Showrunner Rashad Raisani teased in an interview with TVLine that the two will bump heads at first but that "[t]hey complement each other on cases and they’re going to become great friends.

Fox’s Accused is a cut above the rest.
Anthological series are rare, in large part because it is difficult to tell a series of stories in a constructive manner that the audience can understand.
Thanks to Accused’s formatting, the series has a full beginning, middle, and end to each story.
(Fox)
However, the risk is that an audience could fall off throughout the season because there of zero connective tissue between each installment.
Fortunately, that wasn’t the case with Accused’s premiere, which pulled off a near-impossible feat in modern television by bringing in eight million live viewers, a number that continued to accrue in the days following.
With its familiar and laudworthy casting, strong performances, and compelling stories, Accused had a winning formula for registering with the audience.

Fox 2024-25 Fall Lineup: Rescue Hi-Surf Gets Post Super Bowl Slot; Accused & 9-1-1: Lone Star Return
Fox was busy over the weekend.
They renewed their remaining drama, The Cleaning Lady, for a 12-episode third season under new showrunners, to start.
The Cleaning Lady, which suffered a great loss when leading man Adan Canto died, was forced to pivot midseason, and it will be pivoting again for its third season.
While we don’t have details, perhaps divesting the original creative team from being so closely related to their story will give the show an opportunity to thrive.
Today, Fox will unveil its content slate for the 2024-2025 television season to the national advertising community during its in-person Upfront Presentation at the Manhattan Center.
That means we get the information on that schedule now and can add the videos after the execs reveal them later this evening.

Fox is moving “Family Guy” to midseason, marking the first time the animated staple hasn’t been on the network’s fall schedule since 2005 (when it returned to the air after being canceled for a few years). That’s one of the major shifts to come this fall as Fox announced a 2024-2025 lineup that includes two new dramas and a new animated series in the fall, with more freshman launches to come in midseason.
New dramas include lifeguard actioner “Rescue: Hi-Surf,” from executive producer John Wells, which will air Mondays at 9 p.m. Et behind “9-1-1: Lone Star” and crime procedural “Murder in a Small Town,” which will run Tuesdays at 9 p.m., paired with Season 2 of anthology series “Accused.” Later in the season will premiere medical drama “Doc,” based on the Italian series “Doc — Nelle tue mani” and starring Molly Parker.

After airing only two drama series for all of the 2023-24 season, Fox is planning to double that number in the fall.
The network unveiled its 2024-25 schedule Monday morning — after skipping the usual rite of spring the past two years — ahead of its upfront presentation to advertisers in the afternoon. The slate includes two nights of drama programming on Monday and Tuesday, a return to Fox’s scheduling pattern from seasons before last year’s dual labor strikes shut down production on scripted series and led the network to an all-reality schedule on weeknights.
The early part of the week will be anchored by two shows that took the 2023-24 season off. Exclusive: It came down to the wire but the last outstanding scripted series on the Big 4 broadcast networks has learned its fate. Fox has handed a Season 4 renewal to The Cleaning Lady, starring Élodie Yung. According to sources, the order is for 12 episodes.
While expected, the renewal was not straight-forward and comes with a showrunner change, Deadline has learned. The crime drama, a co-production between Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment, had to pivot and adjust its storyline on the fly this season as it dealt with the tragic loss of its male lead, Adan Canto, who died of cancer.
Linear ratings for The Cleaning Lady — as well as Fox’s other drama series that aired new episodes this season, Alert: Missing Persons Unit — have been down double digits, with a lift of +131% from Live + Same Day to 3.6 million multi-platform viewers helping The Cleaning Lady to close the gap. Fox will keep its Missing Persons Unit on the job for another season.
The network has renewed the drama series Alert: Missing Persons Unit for a third season in 2024-25. The series will remain in production after season two wraps, which will bank episodes leading into next season and potentially serve as a hedge against a possible IATSE strike in the summer.
Alert is one of just two dramas Fox has aired in 2023-24 as the network relied heavily on its unscripted and animated rosters, which weren’t affected by last year’s dual strikes. Fox has yet to make a call on the other drama, The Cleaning Lady.

“Alert: Missing Persons Unit” has been renewed for a third season at Fox.
The series is a producedural drama set in the Philadelphia Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit, with each episode featuring a search for a missing person headed by detectives Jason Grant (Scott Caan) and Nikki Batista (Dania Ramirez), a former couple whose marriage ended after the disappearance of their son.
Along with Caan and Ramirez, the cast includes Ryan Broussard as Mike Sherman, Adeola Role as Kemi Adebayo, Petey Gibson as C, Gil Bellows as Hollis Braun and Alisha-Marie Ahamed as Wayne Pascal.
Season 2 of “Alert: Missing Persons Unit” is averaging 3.9 multiplatform viewers according to most current data combined from Nielsen’s measurement of linear viewers and Fox’s own streaming numbers. Some of this TV season’s blood has already been spilled — looking at you, “NCIS: Hawai’i” — but as we head toward upfronts week, there are still a number of broadcast shows “on the bubble.”
But as the networks settle in on a diet of mostly stable franchises and fewer series pilots, there’s also less primetime schedule frenzy this year. The days before upfronts week which would normally mean a rapid fire few days of broadcast series renewals and cancellations announcements. But normal left the building a long time ago.
The broadcast network portion of upfronts has been so significantly pared down from years past that it hardly resembles what it used to be. These days, most of the broadcast networks announce renewals and cancellations well ahead of their actual presentations.
Take CBS, which has already announced its new fall and spring schedules as well as all of its renewals and cancellations.

Alert: Mpu is at its best when it brings compelling cases and victims forward.
And Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 2 Episode 4 not only delivered on both but succeeded at organically shedding light on some of the most vulnerable victims of abduction, exploitation, and trafficking.
While the series' premise is finding missing individuals, like other shows of the same caliber (Found), Mpu doesn't often deliver on the "ripped from the headlines" vibes of capturing the real nitty gritty of missing persons.
There are so many different subgenres of individuals who slip through the cracks.
Anyone with a cursory knowledge of statistics on abductions and missing persons is aware of the most vulnerable parties: children, teens, the mentally ill, the unhoused, the Lbgtq+ community, women of color, particularly Indigenous and Black women, and so forth.
Somehow, despite its premise, Alert often skirts around those topics where other procedurals dive headfirst into them.

What is Hollis Braun hiding?
The Mpu's antagonist is actually and potentially an all-around antagonist of the final moments of Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 2 Episode 3 is any indication.
At the forefront of the hour, we had the Mpu investigating the disappearance of a pregnant woman who was supposed to be giving her daughter up for adoption.
However, there were a lot of work moves beneath the surface that suggested that Braun is the Mpu's chess master and that he has a larger plan in mind.
Life is going well for Nikki Batista and Mike, which was evident by the release of their wedding invitations.
Is there a hint of some possible friction down the road regarding children?
Let's start this review by asking: Does Nikki feel sidelined within her own series?
Considering how strong of an opening she had during Alert: Missing Persons Season 1 Episode 1, it was surprising that...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 2 Episode 2 “Benjamin Franklin.”] After the latest Alert: Missing Persons Unit episode, we have so many questions about Nikki’s (Dania Ramirez) history with Irish mob boss Charlie (Ian Tracey). The two cross paths due to the investigation, but it’s not the first time. Rather, after she busted him for drugs and flipped him to be her Ci (confidential informant), he treated her like a little sister when her marriage (to Scott Caan‘s Jason) fell apart and fed her tips while she was climbing the ranks. His intel led to a lot of arrests. Now, she realizes he killed his own dad and let someone else take the blame. Though Nikki doesn’t plan to do anything with it, she does use it as leverage to ensure the safety of a couple of people (the victim of the episode and his daughter). She declines Charlie’s offer ...

Did we see that correctly? Is Nikki Batista mobbed up?
Outside of the fact that Dania Ramirez would be amazing and gorgeous executing (pardon the pun) a Mob Wives parody, Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 2 Episode 2, giving us this new insight into Nikki's past has certainly piqued interest.
There's no way that's the last we've seen of the dangerously dashing Charlie McGannon, right?
The throughlines for the season are difficult to assess just yet beyond a throwaway moment, suggesting that Jay is still looking into that bombing.
But the hour did bring out more of Kemi's original quirk and unique quality while having it tested with someone who is just as quirky as her and twice as awkward.
In some ways, the hour settled into itself and had more of the vibes from Alert: Mpu Season 1.
We had an unusual case that escalated rather quickly, evolving into something one...

The past comes back to haunt Nikki (Dania Ramirez) on Alert: Missing Persons Unit in Season 2. As TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek of the March 12 episode reveals, it’s a messy (and mysterious) one. Ian Tracey guest stars as Charlie McGannon, an old friend of Nikki’s—and current Irish mob boss—who asks her for an impossible favor. “Owen Maloy’s my problem,” he says in our clip. “I’ll handle him. Got it?” Of course, that’s not going to work for Nikki. She even reminds him, “We’ve known each a lot of years. I don’t remember—ever—a moment where I worked for you.” Charlie suggests she think of it as a favor for an old friend. “I don’t recall us being friends, either,” Nikki says. “Don’t kid yourself, Nikki, I was there, remember? Treated you like a little sister when your marriage was falling apart.
