Music superstars Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, and Alicia Keys are returning to The Voice.

No, the iconic trio of coaches aren't taking back their big red chairs (at least yet), but they will appear on the Season 27 finale on May 20 (9 p.m. Et/Pt).

In his autobiography "Born To Run," Bruce Springsteen wrote how when he was first struggling as a musician, songwriting was the skill he chose to concentrate on refining. His writing was "the most distinctive thing [he] had going," he felt back during the early '70s — as do his legions of fans to this day.

When I listen to Springsteen, I don't just feel a story being told or a mood being conjured, I feel the characters, as if years of inner life are conveyed in a few minutes. Springsteen's 1982 song "Atlantic City" is one of the most cinematic I've ever heard, with a simple but evocative story (a desperate young man in love turning to crime). Bruce Springsteen wrapped up a productive 2024 on location in New Jersey, which has included spending time on the set of the biopic Deliver Me from Nowhere.

The 20th Century Studios film, about the making of Springsteen’s 1982 album Nebraska, stars Jeremy Allen White of The Bear and began filming scenes in November. The production is scheduled for more Jersey location shoots in January, including concert scenes in East Rutherford, on its way to a 2025 release date.

Much of the filming so far has taken place in Asbury Park, with scenes involving Frank’s Deli and Restaurant on Main St., the Stone Pony, the Convention Hall, the Carousel House, and, of course, the beach. The movie has transformed Asbury Park into a 1980s version of itself, with period-appropriate cars parked on Main St. Inside the Carousel House, the production recreated the old merry-go-round, as well as the rides that were iconic on the Asbury Park boardwalk.

And while all of the medium's many subgenres excel at this to different degrees, few are as haunting as found footage films, those projects that use simple cameras to put the viewer into the character's space and grant them intimate insight into the terrors they're experiencing. There have been many attempts to experiment with this subgenre, yet it's shocking how few creators have tried what Oren Peli's The River did more than a decade ago by bringing the found footage style to television.

The fifth film from Bulgarian director Petkova, The Worker won the €20,000 Eurimages Co-Production Development Award in the Baltic Event Co-Production Market. Currently in development with a €2m budget of which €450,000 is already secured, The Worker follows a Roma man who leaves his Bulgarian family for work in Germany, where he constructs a façade of living a luxurious life while he struggles as an undocumented worker.

Marc Maron, Gaby Hoffmann and David Krumholtz have joined the cast of Jeremy Allen White’s Bruce Springsteen biopic “Deliver Me From Nowhere.”

Maron will play Chuck Plotkin, the music producer who mastered Springsteen’s “Nebraska” album, turning his unprocessed cassette demos into a high-quality record. Hoffmann will portray Springsteen’s mother, Adele Springsteen, a singer in her own right who died at age 98 earlier this year. Krumholtz will play Al Teller, a record label executive who oversaw the release of “Nebraska.”

Hugh Jackman will perform a 12-show concert series at Radio City Music Hall in 2025.

The show, entitled From New York With Love, will start on Jan. 24, 2025, with one weekend of shows per month in April, May, June and July. The final shows are scheduled to take place Aug. 15 and 16.

Jackman announced the news on social media in a video with his Deadpool & Wolverine co-star Ryan Reynolds, noting that it was a little over two years ago that Reynolds announced that the two would be starring in that film and joking that Reynolds would not play a part in this project. The iconic musician, who has made hits like “Born to Run”, “Dancing in the Dark” and “Born in the U.S.A.”, celebrated his 75th birthday yesterday, and today, Hulu has released the trailer for the upcoming tour documentary Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band.

In the trailer for Road Diary, you get an account from Springsteen and The E Street Band members as they embark on their latest tour. The film premieres Friday, October 25 on Hulu and Disney+. What Is Garth Brooks’ Las Vegas Residency?

“Garth Brooks/Plus One” began at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in May 2023, and the country stalwart has continued with numerous sold-out shows since then. Now, the residency is coming to a close, with the final nine dates taking place in early 2025.

The concluding, newly-announced dates will run February 21st-23rd, February 28th, March 1st-2nd, and March 7th-9th.

“I can’t believe it has come and gone, already,” said Brooks in a statement.

In the past, like with “Western Stars” and “Letter to You,” the focus was on the project at hand. “Road Diary” isn’t about a specific album, it’s a more all-encompassing look at the E Street Band’s origins and how 50-odd years of touring informs Springsteen’s latest tour … and being well-aware he’s in his seventies now and this isn’t going to last forever.

Springsteen’s last tour ended in 2016, in support of his 1980 album “The River,” and it included the release of a set of outtakes and the band playing the double album from start to finish — before eventually moving into one the most spontaneous eras of their concerts in the history of E Street.

I’ve always found it strange how Found Footage appears more frequently in film than in television. If you think about it, most of the recovered footage that we see in real life comes from True Crime TV and investigative journalism rather than movies – or at least it used to before the internet turned the whole world into one giant Found Footage horror flick streaming live until the end of time.

Despite this, there were actually quite a few big-name TV shows that recognized the storytelling potential of the Found Footage format and decided to experiment with Pov filmmaking during their run. The first of Chef Gordan Ramsay's numerous cooking shows to air in the United States, Hell's Kitchen has run for more than 20 seasons. Hell's Kitchen contestants face incessant yelling and constant criticism from Chef Ramsay as they compete to win a coveted head chef position.

Episodes of the cooking reality show include more than just cooking for one of Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen restaurants. Rewards and punishments are doled when expectations are not met or a team loses a challenge. Punishments range from mundane tasks like cleaning the kitchen to mind-numbing prep work to doing laundry. Punishments can also be harsh, gross, and downright vicious.

Part of what makes punishment days so awful is the lunch the team has to eat while carrying out whatever Chef Ramsay throws at them. The lunch includes some of the most repulsive foods and food combinations possible, like duck feet sandwiches and flower salads crawling with bugs.

Of the many ’90s needle drops in this episodic epic about a smalltown, working class French youth, it is one by Bruce Springsteen that captures its spirit. It takes a special film to earn the right to play ‘Born To Run’ over the end credits, and this does. Ernest Hemingway’s final novel, Across the River and Into the Trees, isn’t exactly known to be among his best works, so it’s probably no surprise that it took quite a while for anyone to adapt it to the cinematic medium. Director Paula Ortiz’s adaptation is fine, if unremarkable, elevated by its excellent cast and impressive production values.

The film follows a US Army Colonel who receives a life-changing diagnosis but meets it with indifference, taking a sojourn through post-wwii Venice. Those familiar with Hemingway’s work won’t be surprised by what Across the River and Into the Trees has in store — it’s poignantly meditative and incredibly simple. However, there is an undeniable elegance in that simplicity that allows this to be a charming drama.

Jeremy Allen White says his Bruce Springsteen prep has involved a lot of YouTube rabbit holes — with some advice from the real-life rockstar peppered in.

The subscription-based nonprofit Manhattan Theatre Club has joined producers of the previously announced Broadway production of Jez Butterworth’s The Hills Of California and will offer the play to subscribers as part of Mtc’s 2024-25 season.

Producers Sonia Friedman Productions, No Guarantees Productions, Neal Street, Brian Spector, and Sand & Snow Entertainment, with Stephanie P. McClelland announced the September arrival on Broadway of The Hills of California. At that point, no mention was made of Mtc, or of the show being offered as part of Mtc’s subscription series.

The Hills of California is now on sale to Mtc subscribers as the third production in the company’s Broadway 2024-25 season.

Rumors are swirling that a film may be in the works about Bruce Springsteen’s iconic album “Nebraska”, released in 1982. A Bruce biopic seems almost like a given at this point in his life and career; that this supposed project will focus on his most unique and thematically heavy album is all the more promising. Word right now is that Springsteen is in talks with director Scott Cooper, whose Crazy Heart, Out of the Furnace and Black Mass had some dark influences themselves.

Eleven documentary projects from 11 countries have been selected for the Intl. Documentary Assn.’s annual Enterprise Documentary Fund Production Grant.

Selected from 371 applicants, the 15 directors behind the 11 docus will receive a total of $435,000 in production grants.

Established in 2017, the IDA Enterprise Documentary Fund supports in-depth explorations of original, contemporary stories that integrate journalistic practice into the filmmaking process. The fund is financially supported by John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, with additional support from the Jonathan Logan Family Foundation. In its seven-year history, the fund has given over $5 million in grant money to nonfiction filmmakers.

The selected projects are currently in production in 11 countries including the U.S., Philippines, Brazil, France, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Italy and Afghanistan. Of the 15 directors behind the docs, 46% are filmmakers of color, 69% are women or gender-non-conforming filmmakers, 12% identify as members of the Lgbtqia+ community, and 8% identify as a D/deaf or disabled person or have long-term health conditions.

The intense reaction to the Israel-Hamas war has spilled over into the International Documentary Film Festival, which has now seen several directors pull their films from the lineup after the IDFA released a statement condemning the slogan “From the river to the sea.”

IDFA told TheWrap that “around 10” directors have pulled their films from the lineup, while the Palestinian Film Institute has also pulled out of activities at the IDFA film market.

Artistic director Orwa Nyrabia told THR he harbored no ill will towards those who chose to pull their movies.

“We respect the choices and the decisions of all filmmakers, whether that is to speak their minds on stage or online or to withdraw their films, all forms of peaceful protest, including criticism of our work, we honor and respect,” Nyrabia said in a statement to the outlet.
