The zombie Dad and mom that are eating the brains are Brian Peck and Beverly Randolph who are famous for being in "The Return of the Living Dead" (1985) in the roles of Scuz and Tina.
The screenplay for this film was featured in the 2010 Blacklist; a list of the "most liked" unmade scripts of the year.
After the Zombies organize (at about 32 mins), a sign on the gate reads:

Zombie Installation Ahead
Persons risk death or reanimation beyond this point. Unauthorized Entry is Prohibited.
This area has been declared a restricted Zombie Area in accordance with the issued directive by the Military Commander on 10 December 2011.
This installation is patrolled by Military working dog teams.
Screenwriter Oren Uziel referred to the film as "The Breakfast Club (1985) with monsters."
The wolf logo that can be seen on the wall of the gymnasium is the emblem of the UNM lobos (University of New Mexico).
