Many would likely agree with Eva Mendes’ sentiment that Emily Blunt really is “just that damn good” in The Fall Guy.
The actress and businesswoman took to Instagram on Thursday to praise husband Ryan Gosling’s latest film. She shared the movie’s poster, which features Blunt and Gosling kissing, as well as some fans’ tweets about the action-packed romantic comedy.
“Did you know?! @thefallguymovie is the First non super hero movie to open the summer box office in 17 years!” Mendes wrote in the caption. “And maybe it didn’t break the box office but it broke sooo many other records. I’m extra proud of this one.”
The Place Beyond the Pines actress, who shares two daughters with Gosling, went on to jokingly explain why she was Ok with her husband kissing his co-star and onscreen love interest Blunt in the movie.

After the humongous hit and accolades he received from Barbie last year, Ryan Gosling is back on the big screen with The Fall Guy. The film interestingly pairs him with Oppenheimer star Emily Blunt whose film was part of the Barbenheimer hype train last year. Their hilarious banter about the phenomenon and their films attracted fans to see their chemistry in The Fall Guy.

The 16 Best Ryan Gosling Movies, from ‘The Fall Guy’ and ‘Drive’ to ‘Barbie’ and ‘Blade Runner 2049’
[Editor’s note: this list was originally published in July 2023, and has since been updated.]
Ryan Gosling has that Ken-ergy. He’s Ken out of Ken. He’s Kendlessly Kentertaining. He’s the Kend all, be all. He’s the Kenvy of other actors. He’s impossible to not Kenjoy. He’s more, much more, than Kenough.
Gosling has had a long, fruitful career, but it’s safe to say that he’s never committed to a role as hard as he’s committed to the bit that was the “Barbie” press tour. Every interview and soundbite the Canadian actor gave in the publicity run for Greta Gerwig’s take on the iconic Mattel toy line has launched meme after meme, as he’s spoken about the importance of telling the tragic story of Barbie’s beau Ken. It’s a commitment that’s only seconded by his performance in the film itself, where he goes for broke with a hilarious, oblivious, and often sweet...

Ryan Gosling takes a lot into consideration before choosing his next movie role.
The Oscar-nominated actor recently opened up to The Wall Street Journal about his decision to avoid taking on darker projects so that he can be present with his family.
“I don’t really take roles that are going to put me in some kind of dark place,” he said. “This moment is what I feel like trying to read the room at home and feel like what is going to be best for all of us. The decisions I make, I make them with [wife] Eva [Mendes], and we make them with our family in mind first.”
Gosling and Mendes, who met prior to starring together in 2012’s The Place Beyond the Pines, share two daughters, Esmeralda Amada and Amada Lee.

Every successful man has a strong woman behind him, and Eva Mendes is the perfect example of that. After a string of hit movies, such as Derek Cianfrance’s smash hit The Place Beyond the Pines, which sparked a protracted romance between her and Ryan Gosling, Mendes became a prominent actor in her own right.
The 2012 flick may have contributed to their off-screen romance, but the Barbie star genuinely detested his character. That being said, despite his reputation for giving melancholic and enticing performances on screen, Gosling found it difficult to fall in love with one particular role: that of the character in The Place Beyond the Pines. In fact, he hated the character so much that he felt “ashamed” to even look at himself in the mirror.

Ryan Gosling is opening up about how Eva Mendes and their two daughters serve as a north star for him in his life.
In a Men’s Health cover story with The Fall Guy director David Leitch, the Barbie actor and Bullet Train filmmaker were asked if they have a motto they live by or a north star that guides their decisions.
Gosling explained that he doesn’t really have a motto, but will find himself thinking about his deathbed when faced with a decision, saying that considering what will matter then is what helps him choose the best thing for him.
“It puts things into perspective,” the three-time Oscar nominee told the publication. “It always comes back to family first. I don’t think I’ll regret anything professionally, but I do think when it comes to Eva and the girls, they come first.”

Eva Mendes is known for her insanely good looks and has often been considered one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood. The Hitch star is known for her roles in films such as Ghost Rider, We Own The Night, and The Place Beyond the Pines, the latter of which was where she met her future partner Ryan Gosling.
While it has been a while since she has starred in any film, Eva Mendes was the subject of a tabloid rumor back in 2007. The actress was reportedly rumored to be pregnant after being seen by paparazzi with a ‘bump’. However, the actress denied the claim back then and Evan promoted body positivity by speaking about how putting on a little bit of weight was not that big of a deal.

Eva Mendes offered her stamp of approval on Tuesday for husband Ryan Gosling’s Saturday Night Live performance, shouting out his particularly relevant sketch in which he spoke with a Cuban accent.
“My Cuban Papi made this Cuban Mami so happy with this,” Mendes, who is of Cuban descent and was born in Miami, wrote on Instagram. “Years of hanging out with my Dad paid off.”
The sketch involved Gosling playing a man who had developed a Cuban accent after marrying a Cuban woman. Marcello Hernandez and Kenan Thompson played two friends out to dinner with Gosling. At one point, Thompson says that Gosling’s character “is from Tennessee but ever since he married a Cuban woman, he different.”

We’ve never met anybody whose seen 2013’s The Place Beyond The Pines and thought it was anything less than great. The script, the direction and the production design are wonderful and this writer would argue that if there was ever an award for the best opening and closing shot in movie history, The Place Beyond The Pines would definitely be in contention.
However, there was one person who wasn’t impressed with the film, and that was before cameras had even rolled. The project’s director Derek Cianfrance has revealed that at one point, one of the film’s leading men was so unimpressed with a script rewrite that he tried to quit the movie.

Bradley Cooper almost quit The Place Beyond the Pines.
During Indiewire’s Screen Talk live at the New Directors/New Films festival, writer/director Derek Cianfrance — who co-wrote the feature with future Sound of Metal director Darius Marder — said Cooper didn’t like what he read after receiving an updated script. Bradley Cooper is unhesitant and unequivocally bold while listing out his thoughts. Especially when it comes to the projects he takes on, he doesn’t waver to let everyone know his thoughts on the story he has chosen to work on. This is why he was almost willing to quit the very movie that had Ryan Gosling head over heels in love with the actress who later became his wife, Eva Mendes.

Ryan Gosling has been killing it on the career front with his performance in last year’s Barbie garnering much praise, including an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He won hearts at the Oscars this year with his rendition of the Oscar-nominated song ‘I’m Just Ken’, with celebrities such as Emma Stone and Margot Robbie joining in on the fun.
However, one person who was not present was Gosling’s partner Eva Mendes. Though the actress was seen near Gosling’s dressing room, she was notably absent at the ceremony while the Barbie star was bringing down the roof with his performance. Eva Mendes is taking a trip down memory lane, all the way back to working with her now-husband Ryan Gosling for the first time.
During an interview on the Today show Tuesday, the actress and businesswoman opened up about initially meeting the Oscar-nominated actor while filming their 2012 movie The Place Beyond the Pines.
“I’ve never experienced anything like that,” Mendes recalled. “The way he works, his commitment to his craft, how he wants to make everything as best as it can be — and that means making his co-stars as best as they can be.”
She added, “Unfortunately — or fortunately — there’s only one Ryan, so I pretty much stopped acting after that.”
Since then, the pair have continued to keep their relationship out of the spotlight, finding subtle ways to show their support for each other, such as Mendes’ sweet Instagram post following Gosling’s dazzling “I’m Just Ken” Oscars performance.

An action rom-com with all the elements for something iconic, David Leitch’s The Fall Guy features truly remarkable stunt work and charismatic performances by Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, yet buckles under the weight of its plot. Adapted from a 1981 action series that lasted five years, the film would have been best-served as a complete reboot jettisoning much of a plot that intrudes and ultimately means less time for Blunt and Gosling together.
What remains, though, is a love letter to the craft of stunt work with stuntman-turned-director Leitch providing a behind-the-scenes peek both on the set of the giant-budget action film Blunt’s Jody Moreno is directing and, later, during the film’s credit sequence. The Fall Guy, along with Richard Rush’s classic The Stunt Man and Dan Hartley’s thoughtful documentary David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived, are all excellent cases for creating a new Academy...

At this year’s Academy Awards, “The Fall Guy” stars Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt presented a video tribute to stunt performers that included clips ranging from the silent era up through recent action juggernauts like “Rrr” and the “Fast & Furious” series. It was a step forward for a group whose contributions are frequently undervalued despite, as Blunt put it, “risk[ing] life and limb” for cinema. And yet, the segment didn’t come with an award attached.

Along with Gosling, Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt performing the hit song from Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, other Kens from the movie also joined them onstage, including Simu Liu, Kingsley Ben-Adir and Ncuti Gatwa. Slash also made a special appearance.

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes appeared together in Derek Cianfrance’s epic crime drama movie The Place Beyond the Pines with the story from Cianfrance and Ben Coccio. Bradley Cooper also starred alongside the two in the movie that narrates three linear stories.
The filmmaker was reportedly inspired to write about the movie based on his experience as a father and had envisioned the main themes to be about father-son, masculine identity, and legacy. Upon its release, with moderate success at the box office, the movie received a positive response from the audience and the critics.

The glitzy world of Hollywood is hardly a warm place. Acting is a very demanding job and getting a scene right is rarely a comfortable experience. So was the case with Eva Mendes, who was in a nervous fit while filming a scene.
Known for her courage in doing bold scenes, the actress was far from her usual confident self during this one scene. Not that anyone can blame her. Working opposite Ryan Gosling would give anyone jitters. The Canadian star tends to have that effect on people.
However, there might be more to this story than it appears.

In Derek Cianfrance's "The Place Beyond the Pines," the actor's motorcycle stunt driver Luke's bleached mop speaks to his immaturity when the story begins in the late '90s. Compare that to Gosling's replicant cop K in Denis Villeneuve's "Blade Runner 2049," whose haircut is pragmatic and unflashy. It befits his personality yet it's almost too tidy, as though he's a kid playing at being a grown-up ... or, in K's case, at being "a real boy," to quote his holographic AI girlfriend Joi (Ana de Armas).
Like K, Gosling's Ken ends up having an existential crisis as he comes to ponder who he truly is and what he's meant to do with his life in "Barbie." But he's even more like Luke, in that he, too, is fairly juvenile, has bleach-blonde locks, and ends up...

David Schwimmer makes a bold choice with this ambitious, if not entirely seamless psychodrama. Starting out as a hyperactive life-in-crisis movie, like a more melancholy, introspective Fight Club, it swaps horses in midstream with a shocking twist that will likely alienate any viewers seduced by seeing the Friends star’s face on its promo imagery. Those willing to follow first-time director Jack Begert down the rabbit hole into the film’s surprising second half — which may seem completely unrelated at first, but soon reveals the film’s deeper themes of opioid use and the butterfly effects of addiction — will find it strangely satisfying.
In light of recent events involving Schwimmer’s former co-star Matthew Perry, Begert’s film has acquired an unintentionally meta level that, sadly, only underscores its main theme, which is the human cost of the pursuit of happiness in contemporary America. Schwimmer plays Martin Solomon, a screenwriter...

Derek Cianfrance will direct Roofman, the story of Jeffrey Manchester who committed a string of bizarre robberies in the 90s.
Derek Cianfrance, the acclaimed director behind Blue Valentine and The Place Beyond The Pines, has finally set up his next project. The news comes via Jeff Sneider’s newsletter (spotted by World Of Reel).
The director recently left the new The Wolfman film, which will see Ryan Gosling in the title role. He originally replaced Leigh Whannell as the director, but it’s now being reported that Whannell is back in the director’s chair for Universal’s monster movie.
With his schedule now free, Cianfrance is eyeing up the story of Jeffrey Manchester, a man who robbed McDonald’s restaurants in the 90s while living in a branch of Toys R Us. Manchester would break into the restaurants through the roof – hence the film’s title, Roofman – and wait...

Eva Mendes is showing support for husband Ryan Gosling by addressing all the hate he initially received for his role as Ken in Barbie.
Though Gosling turned Ken into a beloved character around the globe with his Oscar-nominated performance and the hit song “I’m Just Ken,” some criticized him at first for stepping into the role of a doll.
Mendes shared one story published by Rolling Stone in June 2022 as an example. The article’s headline read, “Sorry to Be the One to Say It, but Ryan Gosling Is Giving Major Cringe as Ken in ‘Barbie.’”
In response, the actress and businesswoman wrote on Instagram on Wednesday, “So proud of my man. So much hate when he took on this role. So many people trying to shame him for doing it. Despite all the #Notmyken ridicule and articles written about him, he created this completely original, hilarious, heartbreaking, now...

There is a video of a young Bradley Cooper asking a deeply thoughtful question to Robert De Niro about his process for the film “Awakenings.” He was among those studying at The Actors Studio Drama School who were the audience for “Inside The Actors Studio” hosted by the late James Lipton. Bradley would guest on the show in 2011.
Through the 2000s, Cooper had great stints in television with a lead role on the Fox sitcom “Kitchen Confidential” which was cancelled after one season and a regular role in J.J. Abram’s “Alias.” It wasn’t until 2009’s “The Hangover” that he got his big break. Todd Philip’s chaotic buddy comedy was a box office smash, making just shy of $500 million worldwide on a $35 million budget. It even won the Golden Globe for Best Comedy in 2011. This spawned two successful sequels that took the box office total for the trilogy to nearly 1.5 billion dollars.
