A Mixed Bag of Comedy and Missed Opportunities

Delivers a mix of storylines with uneven results, maintaining the show's signature tone but falling short in some areas.

The central plot involving Claire and Gloria centers on Claire's jealousy and competitiveness over Gloria's involvement in the school dance committee. Unfortunately, their interactions feel over-the-top and lack the humor or depth needed to make their dynamic engaging. Instead of adding nuance to their relationship, the scenes lean into stereotypes and fail to elicit genuine laughs.

Meanwhile, Jay and Phil's adventure at the mall with Luke and Manny provides more successful comedic moments. Jay's frustration with Phil's passive nature, such as when he allows others to take his parking spot or cut in line, offers some genuine laughs and plays well into their established chemistry. However, the subplot doesn't break new ground and feels predictable.

The highlight of the episode is Mitchell and Cameron's storyline, where they discover that Lily has been biting other children at the park. This plot blends parental concern with sharp humor, showcasing some of the best gags in the episode. Their banter and attempts to navigate the situation capture the charm and wit that make them a standout duo.

Overall, while there are a few laughs, Dance Dance Revelation struggles to deliver fresh or meaningful material. The Claire and Gloria storyline falls flat, the mall subplot is amusing but formulaic, and Mitchell and Cameron's scenes, though delightful, can't fully save an episode that feels like it needed a more creative and balanced approach.

An above average episode...teetering on even better

    A classic/prototypical Modern Family episode.

But...Danny Trejo, Artemis, Mo Mandel and Longinus all in one episode.

    Good storylines all around.

I think they could have been tighter...a bit more humor. It's right on the cusp.

Definitely a 7...possibly an 8. Trying to decide as I watch it.

I really like young Manny and Luke. What they did with them as they got older....yuck.

And hints of Claire's awkwardness as a character on display on the dance floor.

    Yeah...def not 10 or 9. I don't quite think it's an 8.

And how the hell are there no other reviews of this episode.
