Co-starring The Walking Dead‘s Scott Wilson, The Oa made quite a splash last year when it premiered on Netflix, and fans of the supernatural mystery series will be pleased to hear that the series has been renewed for a second season.
“Something always survives. Coming: The Oa Part II.”
From the Season 1 Press Release: “The show begins with a missing blind girl in her twenties, Prairie Johnson (Brit Marling), who comes home to the community she grew up in with her sight restored. Some hail her a miracle, others a dangerous mystery, but Prairie won’t talk about her seven years missing with the FBI or her parents.
Other cast members include Emory Cohen (Brooklyn, The Place Beyond the Pines), Scott Wilson (The Walking Dead, Junebug), Phyllis Smith (The Office), Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter, Fury, Dig), Alice Krige (Star Trek: First Contact, Silent Hill), Patrick Gibson (The Tudors), Brendan Meyer (Mr. Young,...

Netflix has released the first trailer for a new series that they've been secretly developing called The Oa. It's an eight-episode series that was created by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij (Sound of My Voice and The East), and it looks incredibly interesting. I'm definitely intrigued by this trailer, and I'm looking forward to seeing what the series has to offer.
The series is being produced by Brad Pitt and is described as "a powerful, mind-bending tale about identity, human connection, and the borders between life and death." The story follows Prairie Johnson (Marling), "a missing blind woman who finally returns to her family after seven years with her sight restored. Though Prairie is said to 'remember everything,' she refuses to talk about what happened to her during her time away from home, leaving viewers to contemplate what exactly befell her all those years ago."

Only Netflix could get away with dropping the trailer and release date for a show only a few days before it is set to "air." That's exactly what the streaming media giant did with The Oa, a new eight-episode series from actor-writer Brit Marling (Another Earth) and director-writer Zal Batmanglij (Sound of My Voice, The East) that will launch on Netflix this Friday. In the new supernatural horror movie Way of the Wicked, Christian Slater lives up to his first name and plays a man of God. But he’s not without his flaws. As director Kevin Carraway told us, “It was definitely different for me to see Christian play that kind of dark person. He is such a fantastic actor that I knew he would bring that character to life."
" Even on set, watching some of the decisions he made, he is such a professional. I can totally understand why he has had such longevity in this business and I would love to work with him again in the future.”
Carraway said there was no ego, not even with the press mobbing him the moment he stepped onto set. “When he first showed up, reporters wanted to interview Christian. The energy on the set was amazing. He would go around and speak with everyone.

Earlier this week, we brought you the news when Canadian actor Brendan Meyer (Mr. Young, This Means War) joined the cast of the long-awaited big screen adaptation of Orson Scott Card‘s Hugo and Nebula Award-winning sci-fi novel Ender’s Game, as Stilson, Ender’s classmate who taunts him during ground school.
Now, Variety reports that Harrison Ford (Cowboys & Aliens) and Abigail Breslin (New Year’s Eve) have officially joined the cast of the Gavin Hood directed adaptation. Ford is set to portray Colonel Hyram Graff, who oversees the military facility where gifted youngsters are trained to prevent an imminent alien attack, and Breslin will portray Valentine Wiggin, the older sister to Ender (Asa Butterfield).
About Ender’s Game:

Harrison Ford is officially on board OddLot Entertainment’s Ender’s Game, the long-awaited adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s award-winning sci-fi novel. Abigail Breslin (pictured right) is also joining the cast, alongside young talents Asa Butterfield (Hugo) and Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit).
In Card’s novel, Earth is reeling from an attack by an alien race called the Formics (informally, “buggers.”) To battle the buggers, Earth’s International Fleet establishes a Battle School for teaching gifted children space combat tactics.
Butterfield will play Ender, a prodigy at the school and a rare third child in a society limited to only two. Steinfeld is set as Petra, an early ally in the school’s all-important training games. OddLot Entertainment has aged the children up, from six and above to roughly fourteen, which comes as no surprise considering the dark and potentially unnerving tone. Breslin, who famously got her start in Little Miss Sunshine,...

Ender’s Game Film Casts Stilson
Bullies and bullying is a hot button issue right now in the real world. Well, it was also important to the plot of the Orson Scott Card classic, Ender’s Game. That’s not unusual. What I adore about science fiction is how readily it relates to the important issues of real life, never mind the fantastic elements involved. Even the classic film, The Never-ending Story, included bullies. So, who will play Ender’s bully on the big screen? All shall be revealed.
His name is Brendan Meyer, and he is already a very popular Canadian teen star, according to the THR exclusive. He will play Stilson, who makes Ender’s school life fairly miserable.
Meyer is 17-year-old years old. He starred in as Adam Young on the Ytv and Disney Xd series, Mr. Young,a child prodigy who graduates from college at age 14, sort of like Doogie Howser,...
