The following contains heavy spoilers for season 1 of "Paradise."
The thrilling new Hulu series "Paradise" has set the bar as the best new TV show of 2025. "This is Us" creator Dan Fogelman delivers a compelling story amidst a mystery that evolves into something bigger. The show follows Sterling K. Brown's Xavier Collins, a former Secret Service agent who fails at his job and allows President Cal Bradford (James Marsden) to be murdered. The rest of the season involves Xavier's investigation into who killed the president, while the larger narrative of the show also explores what exactly happened that ended the world. Yes, ended.

Do not proceed if you haven't finished season 1 of "Paradise." Spoilers for the season finale lie ahead!
The first season of "Paradise," the twisty new drama from "This Is Us" creator Dan Fogelman which also stars "This Is Us" veteran Sterling K. Brown as Secret Service agent Xavier Collins, just came to a close, and even though the season 1 finale, "The Man Who Kept the Secrets," answered a handful of burning questions, it also raised even more. With that in mind, fans of the show are probably disappointed to hear that, unfortunately, they'll have to wait quite a while for the forthcoming second season.
In a post-finale interview with Deadline on March 4, the showrunner said that they haven't quite started production on "Paradise" season 2 yet, so it'll be a little while before audiences see it. "Scripts are written. We go into production in four weeks," Fogelman said before acknowledging that,...

The following contains major spoilers from Paradise Season 1, Episode 8, "The Man Who Kept the Secrets," now streaming on Hulu. It also contains discussion of suicide.
The Paradise Season 1 finale has an almost impossible bar to clear -- and it nearly gets there. Season 1, Episode 8, "The Man Who Kept the Secrets," reveals who killed President Cal Bradford and a few other things besides. It also sets the Hulu show up for its recently announced second season. But it's not perfect, and it's also impossible not to leave the finale with a bittersweet feeling, because of how great the previous seven episodes were.
"The Man Who Kept the Secrets" is partly told through the perspective of President Bradford's murderer, confirming that Samantha "Sinatra" Redmond was telling the truth about it being an outsider. Episode 8 has to explain how exactly that person got in, and to some viewers, parts of their story may...

Quick! Who directed the 1950 animated version of "Cinderella?" Did they direct any other movies? Who played the voice of Peter Pan in Disney's 1953 film version? Who played Alice in "Alice in Wonderland?" Or Prince Philip in "Sleeping Beauty?" Who wrote "One Hundred and One Dalmatians?"
Some readers may have been able to recall that famed children's book author Bill Peet wrote "Dalmatians," and other hardcore Disney Nerds might know that famed child star Bobby Driscoll played Peter Pan, but many of the actual filmmakers of early Disney-released animated features have remained obscure. One would have to look up that Clyde Geronimi, Wilfred Jackson, and Hamilton Luske served as the supervising directors of "Cinderella," and that they also helmed "Alice in Wonderland," "Peter Pan," and "Lady and the Tramp." Heck, they should be better known, as "Cinderella" kind of saved the company.

This post contains spoilers from Paradise season 1 episode 7 from this point forward.
If anyone has been calling Paradise their comfort show, that sentiment likely came to an abrupt end after watching the penultimate episode of the first season. There was nothing comforting about episode 7, which rewound the clock and took us back to the fateful day when the apparent end of the world began. It's a difficult watch for many reasons, particularly because it felt too realistic.
Paradise has been grappling with the murder of President Cal Bradford (James Marsden) and uncovering who pulled the trigger and what led to his death. In order to get those answers, the series drives home the point that situations that happened in the past have cast a domineering shadow over the present. Choices, or even a lack thereof, has brought society to where it is.

[Editor’s note: The following interview contains spoilers for “Paradise” Season 1, Episode 7, “The Day.”]
When discussing Season 1, Episode 7 of “Paradise,” Sterling K. Brown can hardly contain his excitement. As executive producer and star of Dan Fogelman’s Hulu series, Brown is deeply invested in the material, but he’s also stunned as a viewer by what they’ve created.
“As somebody who’s a big fan of TV growing up, there’s episodes of TV that I remember, and I would say to myself, ‘God, if I could ever do something like that, then people will remember it,'” he told IndieWire the week before the episode released. “I think we did it, and that feels really cool.”

[This story contains major spoilers from the seventh episode of Paradise, “The Day.”]
Paradise viewers have been imagining how the show’s world ended ever since they began watching the Sterling K. Brown-starring Hulu series. But nothing could have prepared them for the episode that actually showed how it happened.
The seventh episode in Dan Fogelman’s drama, “The Day,” written by John Hoberg and directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, flashed back to the day of the extinction-level event that preceded the beginning of the series. Paradise had opened up in a post-apocalyptic world, where 25,000 people were saved from a catastrophic climate event that wiped out civilization. The survivors, led by star Brown’s Secret Service agent Xavier Collins, are now living in a bunker deep in the Colorado mountains that was built by a billionaire (Julianne Nicholson) who had the wherewithal to see that the end of the world was coming.

Zero Day is one of Netflix's most popular and talked about shows at the moment, which doesn't come as a surprise given its compelling storyline and amazingly talented cast. I mean, who wouldn't want to watch a show starring big names such as Robert De Niro, Angela Bassett, Jesse Plemons, Lizzy Caplan, Connie Britton, etc.?
The entire first season of the new political thriller dropped on Netflix on Feb. 20, and with just six episodes, it didn't take long for viewers to binge-watch the whole installment. As expected, many rushed to search for details about a potential second season. However, they may not find the news they were hoping for. With Zero Day being billed as a limited series, the chances of it returning with a new season are slim, as its storyline is intended to be a self-contained narrative.
While this is disappointing news, there's no need to fret...

Brown), Cal (James Marsden), and the rest of humanity knew it, ended. The stress-inducing installment picks up where last week’s episode left off as Xavier prods for answers about his wife Teri’s (Enuka Okuma) status from Sinatra (Julianne Nicholson). Meanwhile, flashback sequences reveal Xavier and Cal’s perspectives of the day they fled for the bunker known as Paradise. Although Xavier had previously learned a catastrophic climate event would impact the world, he and Cal were both taken by surprise when the danger arrived rather abruptly, leaving Xavier unable to connect with his wife as she found herself stranded in Atlanta. “I remember, we were shooting 107 I said, ‘You ready big dog?’ And he goes, ‘Ready for what?’ I said, ‘Number two,'” Brown told Variety. “And he goes, ‘Number two?’ I was like, ‘Ya, you got the first one for “Jury Duty” — number two is coming.’ He goes, ‘Are you ready for number 10?’ I was like, ‘Hey, don’t talk about me, bro! We talking about you!'”

The following contains major spoilers for Paradise Season 1, Episode 7, "The Day," now streaming on Hulu.
Paradise Season 1, Episode 7, "The Day" is the one everyone has been waiting for -- and every bit as horrifying as expected. The Hulu series had to show the catastrophic event that led to the destruction of society after six episodes talking about it. But it also had to be the most difficult episode to write and produce, because if it wasn't on an epic scale, it would take the whole show down with it. Luckily, it's exactly what it has to be.
As the title indicates, "The Day" focuses almost entirely on revealing what happened to the world and how everyone reacted in the immediate aftermath. There are only two scenes that take place in Paradise's present time, which reveal very little beyond what audiences learned at the end of Episode 6. But that's okay,...

The following piece contains spoilers about the latest episode of Paradise, titled “The Day.”
The series had to go back to the start before Paradise could reach the end of its acclaimed first season. In the penultimate episode of the Hulu drama, the doomsday events that led to the end of the world are shown in detail for the first time. The episode reveals how Xavier (Sterling K. Brown) said goodbye to his wife and how the bunker population, including President Cal Bradford (James Marsden), reacted to the catastrophe.
“I never had to fake it on this show; I saw myself as James in that position: What would you do? How would you be feeling in this moment? The courage it takes for this man to go, ‘No, I’m going to stand for something now,” Marsden tells Gold Derby of the episode. “This is why I liked the idea...

Political thrillers are a hot genre right now, and Hulu’s Paradise is one of the newest entries on the list of some of the best new (and returning) ones this year. The drama has been well received through its first few episodes to date, with viewers shocked by the massive twist that’s revealed at the end of the first episode and eager to discover the answer to the big overarching mystery.
The show has some big-name actors among its cast, hails from a creator with a fantastic track record in TV (albeit with shows of a very different genre), and blends the worlds of government, billionaires, and science.
What Is Paradise About?
It’s tough to talk about the premise of Paradise without revealing the big episode one twist. First off, the show centers around Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown), a Secret Service agent in charge of the U.

Smallville is a cornerstone of early-aughts TV, but tackling its 10-season catalog is a challenging binge for the time-crunched. Don't be fooled, though. The CW classic should be a must-watch for fans craving more Superman in the fallout of James Gunn dropping the trailer for his take on the character. Yet, with its early seasons leaning heavily on a predictable “monster-of-the-week” formula and later ones juggling budget woes and uneven quality, sifting through 217 episodes can be daunting. No matter how much irresistible nostalgia and juicy teenage melodrama there might be in any given Smallville episode, even the most die-hard fan would be hard-pressed to deny there's a fair amount of filler in each season.
Filler is an understandable pitfall for a show balancing 20+ hour-long episodes per season. The Smallville creative team had no easy task—telling a nuanced Superman origin story to the tune of a weekly prime time network television is a Herculean undertaking.

The funniest thing about the ending of Lioness season 2 is Joe’s dialogue where she heroically declared, “I observe and give advice unless one of my assets goes down.” Byron had literally ordered her to stay on the base, but she changed the rules as if she was the superior here. I understand what the showrunners were going for here, but seriously it’s not some private ranch in Montana, it’s a Middle-Eastern country with which you have weak diplomatic relations, and if anything goes south, then Joe’s heroism could start a war where more people would get killed just to justify the mess. Also, on a technical level, Joe’s lines ruined the ending of the show because she already hinted at what was going to happen in the climax. But let’s just accept it, all these are stupid notions being peddled in the name of entertainment and propaganda.

12.12: The Day
In the course of a few hours on the 12 December 1979, a coup d’état changed South Korean history. It followed the assassination, six weeks earlier, of president Park Chung Hee, and it would set back democratic progress in the country for over a decade. Now a film depicting the events of those critical hours has been selected as South Korea’s Oscar submission. 12.12: The Day is a taut thriller whose distinctive visual aesthetic owes something to film noir. Its director, Kim Sung Soo, has previously been described as the man who introduced the noir genre to the country, so when we met to discuss the film I asked him if he felt that it was a natural fit for a film on this theme.
Kim Sung Soo
“Personally, I am interested in genre film as an action, then a crime thriller. But I didn't choose this film because of what I.

A contentious figure during his time in American politics, movies, and TV shows have rushed to portray Ronald Reagan for years. The former president himself was active in the media, acting in Hollywood films and TV shows for over 30 years. For this reason, the public was surprised when he was initially running for office, as the public figure was considered by many to be much more of an actor than he was a politician. Nonetheless, Reagan went on to serve two terms in office and become a highly prominent conservative political figure.
While Reagan has been portrayed throughout the decades, the most recent portrayal of the former president is in the biopic Reagan. Reagan was released to theaters this past weekend on August 30, and has thus far brought in $9.2 million at the box office. Reagan's reviews aren't good thus far, garnering just an 18% score among the 44 critics who have reviewed it thus far.

Guts is a complex character, showcasing both quiet introspection and forceful determination through his dialogue. The evolution of Guts' dialogue reflects his growth from an edgy anti-hero to a more mature, reasoned individual. Guts' quotes in Berserk provide insight into his internal struggles, trauma, and the themes of the series as a whole.
Berserk's Guts, though a hulking, '80's action-movie-esque hero of few words, has never allowed an opportunity for a great quote to slip by. Much of the magic of Berserk lies in its silence; the quiet, pensive, meditative moments. And the dialogue that's woven through that silence ties the total package together. At the same time, when the series decides it wants to be loud, messy, and forceful, Guts is just as capable of shouting one-liners that could make John McClane quiver.

At the beginning of Robert Wise's 1951 sci-fi classic "The Day the Earth Stood Still," a flaying saucer lands in Washington, D.C. and a stern, masked alien named Klaatu (Michael Rennie) emerges. He announces to the gathered military and curious humans that he comes in peace, and even has a gift for the people of Earth. He extracts a small, palm-sized tube and flicks it open, revealing multiple small antennae. The flicking device, however, spooks one of the nearby military men, and he fires off a shot, injuring Klaatu's hand. He falls in pain.
Almost instantly, as if sensing Klaatu's panic, an enormous eight-foot humanoid robot emerges from the flying saucer. It is silvery and featureless, sporting a mysterious visor across its face. This is Gort. Gort steps out onto the ground, and its visor lifts, revealing a glowing power source. A laser beam emerges from Gort's head, striking all the Army's weapons.
