The comedy piece was great as usual but the storytelling of the actual crime was a bit lackluster this time.
Shawn is getting more reckless with each episode. His fun and games aren't funny anymore, atleast not in this episode. He's becoming more detached from the tension and more inconsiderate of other people's lives with each episode. I get that it's a comedy show but Jesus Christ where's the comedy Shawn? You're not funny here, you're just inconsiderate and selfish... Every childish act of his gives more trauma to the passengers. This isn't funny anymore.
This episode has the coast guard all over it. Shouldn't Jane Lynch's character (head of Coast Guard and Chief Vick's sister) be all over this one? What a missed opportunity. They made such a big deal about her competing with her sister in the last Jane Lynch episode that it makes this episode hard do take seriously. I mean, did Chief Vick's sister go on vacation this week? Is she no longer with the Coast Guard? The writers are getting sloppy. Other than that this is a somewhat decent episode. Chi was a good addition, I liked him on human target. Too bad that show got cancelled. At least he can get work in bit parts of cop shows. So far I am seven episodes into watching this season and it is starting to get lazy. At least the other episodes had some over arching plots. This is getting complacent and the characters are complacent.
