ABC Unveils Fall 2025 Schedule: ‘9-1-1: Nashville’ Joins Its Mothership on Thursday; ‘Shark Tank’ Moves to Wednesday As ‘Celebrity Wheel of Fortune’ Takes Its Place
Image
ABC is keeping things stable next fall, making only a handful of tweaks to a schedule that mostly looks similar to last year’s lineup. That means just one new series has been added to the mix so far — “9-1-1: Nashville,” which will easily slide into the Thursday 9 p.m. slot behind mother ship “9-1-1.”

“Our strategy over the past few years has to been really focused on launching just a few shows every year, and it’s borne out,” said Craig Erwich, president, Disney Television Group, pointing to the success last season of freshmen “High Potential” and “Shifting Gears,” and before that, “Will Trent.”

“We don’t want to make a lot of moves, because I think it can be confusing, and it really works against focus and stability. So we were able really platform a few shows. ‘9-1-1: Nashville’ obviously will be a big priority for us.

‘The Golden Bachelor,’ ‘9-1-1: Nashville’ Lead ABC’s 2025-26 Lineup
Image
The second season of “The Golden Bachelor” and new spinoff series “9-1-1: Nashville” will lead ABC’s 2025-26 schedule.

The second installment of “The Golden Bachelor,” which follows NFL alum Mel Owens, will air Wednesdays at 9 p.m., following new episodes of “Shifting Gears” and “Abbott Elementary” this fall. After the reality series, ABC will usher in a new time slot for “Shark Tank,” which moves from its previous Friday spot to air Wednesdays at 10 p.m.

Disney Television Group president Craig Erwich told TheWrap the Wednesday 10 p.m. timeslot has had recent success in the past year but has had several shows cycle through, so they wanted what he calls a “signature show” in the hour. “Shark Tank” is “a show that’s beloved, that the audience knows where to find it, that the audience will seek it out.” Erwich also noted it will offer a strong lead-in for local news at 11 p.

Here is the schedule, which Craig Erwich, president, Disney Television Group, said is “about maintaining stability.” It does not include two of ABC’s top dramas, The Rookie and Will Trent, slated again for a midseason return alongside High Potential on Tuesday. X-men: With Thunderbolts* Director Jake Schreier Set To Helm, A New Name Is In The Mix To Play Jubilee
Image
Last night, the news broke that Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier is in line to helm Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot, and we now have some (rumored) casting updates along with a new name reportedly in the mix to play Jubilee.

Though Schreier is said to be in early talks, the fact that multiple trades ran the story at the same time and reported that the filmmaker recently turned down several high-profile jobs may indicate that it's a done deal. Things could always change, of course, but Jeff Sneider believes that Schreier will ultimately be announced as the director of X-Men.

Sneider is also hearing that Harris Dickinson, Margaret Qualley, and Julia Butters are still on the studio's radar, and believes Alien: Romulus star David Jonsson could be "back in play" for an unknown part.

He also reports that 15-year-old Trinity Bliss, who made her big-screen debut as Tuk in James Cameron...

Marvel Reportedly Eyes Rising Star Trinity Bliss for Iconic Jubilee Role in the MCU!
Image
Marvel Studios is reportedly eyeing a talented young actress for a key role in their upcoming X-Men movie. According to insider Jeff Sneider, Trinity Bliss, known for her role in Avatar: The Way of Water, is being considered to play Jubilation “Jubilee” Lee in the MCU.

The news comes from The Hot Mic podcast, where Sneider mentioned that Bliss is “in the mix for Jubilee,” but he also advised fans to take the information with “a grain of salt.” As of now, Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed the movie’s development or finalized any casting decisions.

However, Bliss’s name being linked to the role has sparked excitement among fans.

Trinity Bliss made a significant impression in Hollywood with her role as Tukitey (“Tuk”) in Avatar: The Way of Water, which premiered in 2022. Tuk is the youngest of Jake Sully and Neytiri’s four children. Bliss is set to...

H.E.R.B.I.E. Speaks In New The Fantastic Four: First Steps Silence Your Cell Phones PSA
Image
H.E.R.B.I.E. is one of the most unexpected additions to The Fantastic Four: First Steps. However, where better to introduce the fan-favourite character than in a retro-futuristic 1960s New York?

A new "Silence Your Cell Phones" PSA is currently playing in theaters, and it sees the loveable robot briefly warn audiences, "You know better." However, that's subtitled, and his speaking voice is a series of computer noises; is this indicative of what we'll see in the movie itself?

If so, this promises to be a very unique voiceover role for General Grievous actor Matthew Wood.

"He’s absolutely as important and as alive as any other member of the cast," The Fantastic Four: First Steps director Matt Shakman recently said of H.E.R.B.I.E. "He’s sometimes a slightly put-upon robot, but he is definitely a member of the family. He’s just so charming and adorable.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Reshoots Set Photos Reveal A Huge Shalla-Bal/Silver Surfer Spoiler
Image
The Fantastic Four: First Steps is currently undergoing reshoots in Los Angeles, and Julia Garner has been spotted on set as Shalla-Bal, not the Silver Surfer.

With striking blonde hair and a white dress boasting a cosmic blue pattern, Shalla-Bal is seemingly no longer a Herald of Galactus (or has yet to become one). The actor was shown facing the shoreline before turning around and spreading her arms wide.

It's impossible to say what's happening; this could be a flashback revealing when she became the Silver Surfer or perhaps a scene from the end of the film where she's freed of that burden. It may even be something setting up the events of Avengers: Doomsday, though Garner isn't currently expected to appear in that movie.

Thunderbolts* established that the Fantastic Four eventually arrive on Earth-616, and the hope among fans is that Norrin Rad (the male Silver Surfer) will be...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Director Confirms Movie Will Feature Multiple H.E.R.B.I.E.s; New Art Revealed
Image
With a futuristic 1960s-style setting, The Fantastic Four: First Steps looks set to embrace the comics in a big way. In the movie, Marvel's First Family will encounter the Silver Surfer and Galactus, and be joined by their loyal robot helper, H.E.R.B.I.E.

The loveable "Humanoid Experimental Robot, B-Type, Integrated Electronics" has become a mainstay in comics and animation, occasionally serving as a key ally in battle or, more often, Franklin Richards' babysitter.

Talking to Empire Magazine, filmmaker Matt Shakman said, "He's a Reed Richards creation. He's the highest-evolution robot of our era. He is really Reed's right hand in the lab, capable of assisting him on any sort of experiment, always by his side, whether in New York City or out in space."

He'd later reveal that there will be other H.E.R.B.I.E.s in the movie, "doing errands, walking dogs,...

James Cameron’s visually stunning epic sci-fi blockbuster ‘Avatar’ received tremendous praise from fans and critics across the globe after its theatrical release in 2009. Avatar and its sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water, are among the top five highest-grossing movies of all time globally.

Eminent filmmakers like Steven Spielberg and Edgar Wright have expressed their admiration for the film in the past.

This Award-Winning Director Wasn’t Very Happy With Avatar

However, some viewers opined that Avatar was not the best film directed by James Cameron. For instance, the immensely talented British filmmaker Duncan Jones once said (as reported by SlashFilm) that Avatar wasn’t in his top three James Cameron films.

Indian Producers’ Associations Warn of Box Office Bloodbath After Donald Trump’s 100% Tariff Bombshell
Image
Indian producers associations are sounding the alarm over President Donald Trump’s recent proposal to implement a 100% tariff on foreign-produced films entering the U.S. market, a move that threatens the $100 million theatrical business that Indian cinema currently enjoys in America.

Shibashish Sarkar, president of the Producers Guild of India, cautions that it’s still early to fully assess the situation. “It is a little early to comment as global film industries and stakeholders are still processing what is the objective of the statement by President Trump, and what exactly it will solve for Hollywood. Also as we see from his other announcements on tariffs, things change till it’s implemented,” Sarkar tells Variety.

If implemented, Sarkar believes the immediate impact would be on theatrical distribution. “Indian films do about $100 million dollar +/- at the gross box office level in the U.S. If this tariff gets implemented, either the...

James Cameron Promises Zoe Saldaña’s ‘Avatar: Fire & Ash’ Performance Could Outshine ‘Emilia Pérez’
Image
The whispers have begun. Cause when an acclaimed director speaks, the world listens. That’s exactly the level of impact James Cameron is hinting at for Zoe Saldaña’s performance in Avatar: Fire & Ash.

According to the Titanic director, Zoe Saldaña is set to deliver a performance so powerful that it may even surpass her award-winning role in Emilia Pérez. As the fires of a new Na’vi clan rise, so too does Neytiri’s transformation – both emotionally and physically, making the visionary himself believe that it soars beyond the boundaries of the saga.

Is Zoe Saldaña’s Neytiri better than Emilia Perez?

Zoe Saldaña has recently swept the award season with an emotional and exceptional performance in the 2024 film Emilia Pérez, taking home an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress.

James Cameron Says ‘Avatar: Fire & Ash’ Will Redefine Zoe Saldana’s Career: “Goes Way Beyond What You’ve Seen Before”
Image
In Avatar: The Way of Water, we saw Jake Sully, Neytiri, and their family escape the human threat by finding shelter with the ocean-dwelling Metkayina clan. But the film’s biggest emotional moment came at the end, when their oldest son, Neteyam, was killed.

He died just as he was stepping into adulthood, and the loss left the Sully family heartbroken, especially Neytiri.

Now, in Avatar: Fire and Ash, that pain is still very real. Zoe Saldaña, who plays Neytiri, says her character is still struggling deeply with the loss.

“That pain is seamlessly followed up on,” she tells Empire. “And because it doesn’t really have anywhere to go, and doesn’t go away, rage can also come from it. [The Sullys] are going to be tested as a family.”

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Promo Art Reveals A Much Clearer Look At Ralph Ineson's Galactus
Image
Marvel Studios has left Galactus mostly hidden in trailers for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, but keeping promo art under wraps has always been a near-impossible task for Kevin Feige and company.

We recently got a blurry first look at Ralph Ineson's Eater of Worlds, and a clearer shot of the artwork has now revealed the English actor's take on Galactus in all his gigantic glory. That suit is mighty impressive—and comic accurate—and Ineson's likeness is unmistakable beneath the villain's iconic helmet.

Based on comments from filmmaker Matt Shakman, Galactus will be brought to life in The Fantastic Four: First Steps through a combination of practical costume effects and VFX.

Talking about being cast in the role, Ineson previously said, "It was really humbling. When they announced that, I was like, 'How is that going to go down?' because there were a lot of big names that had been attached.

Avatar: Fire And Ash First Still Features Guardians Of The Galaxy Star Zoe Saldaña As Neytiri
Image
Avatar: The Way of Water concluded with the death of Jake Sully and Neytiri's firstborn son, Neteyam. Unsurprisingly, that's put them both back on the warpath against the Rda, and the "absolute devastation" will fuel the matriarch's actions heading into Avatar: Fire and Ash.

"That pain is seamlessly followed up on," Zoe Saldaña tells Empire Online (via SFFGazette.com). "And because it doesn’t really have anywhere to go, and doesn’t go away, rage can also come from it. [The Sullys] are going to be tested as a family."

"Not only would everything that’s happening compel her to question the bond she has with her husband," the actress adds, "but also her bond with herself, her people, her land, and the way the Na’vi are. She’s going to question everything."

However, Neytiri will supposedly "meet her match" in Oona Chaplin's Varang, the leader of the Mangkwan Ash Clan.

The first official image from James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash is ready to bare its teeth. The pic arrives courtesy of Empire Magazine, who recently spoke with Avatar franchise star Zoe Saldaña about the third film in the series and the context of the new photo of a rageful Neytiri. In Avatar: The Way of Water, Neteyam, the firstborn son of Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña), meets a tragic end during the film’s finale, adding fuel to the fire that already burns between the Na’vi, the Metkayina clan, and the Rda. First Avatar 3 Image Reveals Neytiri's Fierce Fire & Ash Return
Image
Avatar: Fire and Ash gets its first official image, revealing Neytiri looking more fierce than ever in James Cameron's sequel. After the massive success of Avatar: The Way of Water in 2022, Cameron's hit sci-fi franchise is set to return later this year with a third installment of a planned five. The Avatar: Fire and Ash story will continue the saga of Sam Worthington's Jake Sully and Zoe Saldaña's Neytiri after the death of their son, Neteyam, following the couple and their children as they contend with the Rda and a violent new Na'vi tribe known as the Ash People.

After numerous pieces of concept art, Empire now shares the first image from Avatar: Fire and Ash, showing Saldaña's Neytiri pulling back the string on her bow, warpaint and a fierce expression on her face. There is also what appears to be blood on her temple and cheek.

Avatar: Fire And Ash Will See Neytiri ‘Question Everything’ In Her Grief – Exclusive First Image
Image
For the most part, Avatar: The Way Of Water was so titled for its focus on the oceans of Pandora – with Jake Sully, Neytiri, and their Na’vi children forced to flee the Rda and bed in with the aquamarine Metkayina clan. But the sequel could also have been named for the tears provoked by its final reel. The clash between Na’vi and man came with a major consequence: the death of Jake and Neytiri’s firstborn son, Neteyam, tragically cut down on the cusp of adulthood. It’s a loss that sent Neytiri into a fearsome rage against the Rda – and as we enter Avatar: Fire And Ash, that loss and “absolute devastation” is still fresh in the character’s mind, says star Zoe Saldaña.

“That pain is seamlessly followed up on,” she tells Empire in our latest Path To Pandora exclusive, running up to Fire And Ash’s arrival.

James Cameron’s Avatar Franchise is Responsible For the Delay Behind Alita: Battle Angel’s Release
Image
Everyone remembers 2019’s Alita: Battle Angel. The cyberpunk movie with boundless action and a badass heroine captured everyone’s attention. While the initial audience reaction was less than encouraging, the movie gained massive attention and praise for its visual excellence afterward.

The CGI was fantastic, and people wanted to see more of Alita and Iron City. 6 years later, and we are yet to get a sequel for the film. While this explanation may sound crazy, the reason for this massive delay is James Cameron’s love for Avatar’s Pandora and its inhabitants, the Na’vi.

'Alita: Battle Angel’ Director Drops Exciting Update on Long-Awaited Sequel
Image
It's been six years since Alita: Battle Angel was released in theaters, and it has been a few years since James Cameron announced that a sequel is in the works. While a release date has yet to be revealed, its director, Robert Rodriguez, shared his thoughts on the project's progress.

In an interview with Joe Rogan, Rodriguez emphasized that Alita's journey in the Iron City is far from over and said he wanted to make another movie based on Yukito Kishiro's manga series. The filmmaker has previously stated that he was doubtful that a sequel would come to light due to Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox. But his mindset changed when he saw more Fox films coming out. If a follow-up feature were to be made, he and Cameron would have enough material to make two more movies.

It's not just Rodriguez who wants an Alita: Battle Angel sequel.

Not Tom Cruise or Leonardo DiCaprio: This Actor Was James Cameron’s First Choice To Play Jack Dawson In Titanic

Was Leonardo DiCaprio not the first choice for Jack in Titanic?(Photo Credit –Facebook)

James Cameron’s epic disaster film Titanic was released in 1997, and the film became the highest-grossing movie then. Until now, only three films, namely ‘Avatar’, ‘Avengers: Endgame’, and ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’, are ahead of Titanic in terms of the global box office figures.

Before Leonardo DiCaprio was finally cast in the lead role of Jack, James Cameron’s first choice was another young and talented actor. Any wild guesses? Read on to know the actor’s name.

James Cameron Wanted This Actor To Play Jack Dawson in Titanic

As per a report by Cinema Blend, Titanic director James Cameron wanted to cast River Phoenix for the coveted role. Unfortunately, the casting could not happen because of the actor’s sudden death when he was just 23 years old. This happened before James Cameron could even...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Lego Set Fully Reveals The McU's Take On Ralph Ineson's Galactus
Image
With The Fantastic Four: First Steps set to arrive in theaters less than three months from today, more merchandise from the reboot continues to find its way online.

We've already got a cool new look at Marvel's First Family today, and now a Lego set has fully revealed the McU's Galactus. The villain is in brick form, but this still ranks among the best shots we've seen of the world-eating baddie.

Lego has found some fun ways to portray the team's powers, though we're a little surprised that there's no Silver Surfer Minifigure. While we know better than to think sets like these offer any definitive idea of what we'll see on screen, could this be an indication that the heroes will fight Galactus at some point?

We'd say it's likely, and a recent plot leak shed new light on what role Galactus and the Silver Surfer will play in The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Promo Art Delivers A Fun, Comic-Inspired Take On Marvel's First Family
Image
While all eyes are on Thunderbolts* ahead of its release in theaters next weekend, we know that many of you are far more excited to see Marvel's First Family in action later this summer.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps has a lot riding on it; not only does it lead directly into Avengers: Doomsday, but this team has struggled to make an impact on screen in the past. This movie will also need to contend with competition from Jurassic World Rebirth and Superman.

More promo art from The Fantastic Four: First Steps has surfaced today, this time offering a comic-inspired take on the team. They all look great, though the depiction of Mister Fantastic's moustache is a little...distracting.

The Human Torch looks like he's flamed on straight off the page, while The Thing looks ready for Clobberin' Time. We just hope he loses the full body suit at some...

We Finally Know How Long The Fantastic Four Have Been Together In The Fantastic Four: First Steps
Image
When Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, it meant Marvel Studios regained the rights to the X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises.

We've long wondered how Marvel's First Family would be inserted into the MCU, and in the midst of the Multiverse Saga, we'll meet a version of the team that hails from a parallel reality. They're expected to eventually make Earth-616 their home, and like the X-Men, that will likely happen in a post-Avengers: Secret Wars MCU that's been softly rebooted.

Earlier today, we shared details on a new tie-in comic set in the world of The Fantastic Four: First Steps. In Deadline's report about the one-shot, it's revealed that it "confirms a few things that fans have speculated about, including that The Fantastic Four: First Steps is not an origin story, but will pick up four years after they become heroes."

It's no secret that The Fantastic Four: First Steps won't be an origin story,...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Getting Official Tie-In Comic; First Look At Mole Man's Monster Revealed
Image
Deadline brings word that Marvel Studios and Marvel Comics are teaming up for a Fantastic Four: First Steps one-shot, which will be released in stores on July 2. This marks the first time the studio has worked with the publisher on a comic set in the world of a specific MCU movie.

To clarify, while we've had various prequels and tie-ins before (the most recent was for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man), this comic would be available to buy in the reality that the team hails from.

Fantastic Four comic book writer Matt Fraction (Hawkeye) and artist Mark Buckingham (Fables) are teaming up on the comic, which is published by the "Future Foundation."

This in-universe artefact was created hand-in-hand with Marvel Comics and The Fantastic Four: First Steps' creative team. Production Designer Kasra Farahani was heavily involved, while Fraction was among those who visited the movie's set.

While we won't...

Titanic Set Was a Nightmare! James Cameron & Crew Poisoned—Did Kate Winslet Get Hit?
Image
Titanic Set Mayhem: Was Kate Winslet Poisoned Like Cameron & Team(Photo Credit –Facebook)

If you thought the Titanic set drama was just about the movie’s tragic love story and icy waters, think again. Turns out, the real chaos was far more hallucinogenic. James Cameron, already notorious for being one of the hardest directors to work with, took things to a whole new level when he, along with several of his crew members, got poisoned during a night shoot. But the real question everyone’s asking: was Kate Winslet among the ones tripping out on set?

As per The Sunday Times, Cameron’s reputation as the “scariest man in Hollywood” wasn’t built on compliments. Known for his relentless perfectionism, the Titanic director didn’t hold back with his cast or crew. If anything, he cranked the intensity up to 11, especially with his lead actress.

Kate Winslet, despite securing the role of a lifetime,...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Promo Art Reveals A New Look At Marvel's First Family Suited Up
Image
The Fantastic Four: First Steps has all the makings of Marvel Studios' most unique and perhaps best movie to date. The heroes are long overdue a reboot, especially as the 2005, 2007, and 2015 movies failed to do Marvel's First Family justice.

Now, we have some new promo art that offers a hi-res look at Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, the Human Torch, and The Thing.

Looming large in the background is the Baxter Building, with the team's iconic logo put front and centre. Will that skyscraper be added to the McU's New York post-Avengers: Secret Wars? That's the way it feels like things are headed.

Before the Fantastic Four appear in Avengers: Doomsday, they'll face Galactus and the Silver Surfer. Julia Garner plays Shalla-Bal, and recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about her take on he character.

"I did not know that there was Shalla-Bal, for example, another form of a Silver Surfer...

How Many ‘Avatar’ Movies Has James Cameron Planned?
Image
There are not many films that appear once in decades and fundamentally change the direction of filmmaking. Besides becoming the highest-grossing movie ever when it premiered in 2009, Avatar cemented its place in the history of cinema and became deeply rooted in pop culture. James Cameron, an expert in presenting far-sighted imaginations on screen, created an alien world with groundbreaking technology and visual effects and also managed to add a message that connected to a global audience.

However, it took him 13 years to release Avatar: The Way of Water, which became another massive hit. It showed that there is more to the story of Pandora by involving new tribes, creatures, and conflicts. Now, it looks like the director is not waiting long for the next series of installments. Cameron wants to build a universe like Star Wars. So, how many more Avatar movies are coming up ahead?

Every upcoming Avatar movie...

‘Avatar’ and ‘Titanic’ Producer Jon Landau Memoir: Cover First Look (Exclusive)
Image
Hyperion Avenue has unveiled the cover image for the memoir written by Jon Landau, the Oscar-winning producer of “Titanic” and the “Avatar” franchise, that will be posthumously released Nov. 4 by the Disney Publishing imprint.

Titled “The Bigger Picture: My Blockbuster Life & Lessons Learned Along The Way,” the publisher describes the book as “an uplifting and entertaining behind-the-scenes memoir about a life in film and the joy in solving problems with grace, kindness and generosity.” Hyperion further describes the memoir as “a tribute to storytelling in its many forms, and a celebration of a life well lived, told from the third act” that is “imbued with Landau’s trademark compassion, humanity, and humor.”

Landau was the decades-long producing partner to James Cameron, who wrote the memoir’s forward. The 1997 blockbuster “Titanic,” directed by Cameron, was the first film to cross $1 billion at the global box office. Cameron and Landau later topped...

Behold! The Fantastic Four: First Steps Promo Art Reveals Our First Full (Low-Res) Look At The McU's Galactus
Image
Marvel Studios has only revealed a few exciting glimpses of The Fantastic Four: First Steps' Galactus, but the villain has finally been revealed (in low-res) thanks to some new promo art.

The gigantic baddie looks like he's stepped straight out of the pages of the comic books, and we can just about make out Ralph Ineson's likeness. His armour looks a little Celestian in nature, though it's hard to pick out the finer details given the poor quality of the image.

It's still a little hard to believe that we're getting a comic-accurate Galactus, especially after Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer infamously transformed him into a dust cloud back in 2007 (even though the movie featured a perfect take on the Surfer).

Also of note is a new look at the Baxter Building. As you can see, it's emblazoned with the "4" logo and promises to dominate the skyline...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Merchandise Reveals New Look At The Team's Powers And Galactus
Image
The new trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps impressed fans last week, and we're sure there's much more to come from the Phase 6 movie before it opens in theaters later this year.

Marvel Japan, for example, has just dropped a new wave of merchandise. You'll need to zoom in, but that includes never-before-seen shots of the Fantasticar, the team in costume (including a shot of the Human Torch with just his hands on fire), and a shadowy look at Galactus, which offers a better idea of what his iconic headpiece will look like.

There's also a great shot of the team together, with Mister Fantastic's stretchy powers on full display.

Talking at Star Wars Celebration about how he approached the portrayal of Reed Richards' powers, Pedro Pascal said, "With Reed, his body may stretch, but this is a brain character."

"I guess I’ll just give it completely away.

This Indian Film Sold More Tickets Than Avatar 2 & Infinity War: And It’s Not What You’d Expect
Image
Bollywood Beats Hollywood Records(Photo Credit –Hotstar)

When one thinks of Indian films that have left a lasting impression globally, titles like Sholay, Awaara, Baahubali, or Rrr usually spring to mind. These blockbusters boasted unforgettable performances and soundtracks. Over time, these films cemented their place in the pantheon of iconic Indian cinema, both at home and abroad. And yet, hidden in plain sight, there’s one film that quietly outpaced some of Bollywood’s biggest giants in one key metric: ticket sales.

This isn’t about box office collections but about the sheer number of people who actually went out and bought a ticket. And what’s even more surprising? The film in question isn’t often mentioned in typical lists of all-time Indian greats. It didn’t spawn a franchise, it wasn’t driven by megastar power, and it didn’t rely on visual effects wizardry.

1971 Caravan sold more than 300 million tickets in Asia,...

“He’s Very Excited About It”: Sigourney Weaver Is as Eager as You Are To See James Cameron’s ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ [Exclusive]
Image
Sigourney Weaver may have gotten her sci-fi start in Ridley Scott’s Alien franchise, and while she’ll always be inseparable from her role as Ellen Ripley, she’s recently become one of the titans of a new universe. Weaver is one of the stars of the Avatar franchise, which kicked off in 2009 with Avatar and continued more than 10 years later with Avatar: The Way of Water. The story of Pandora will roll on later this year in Avatar: Fire and Ash, which will introduce the world to a darker side of Pandora, much less colorful than the parts of the planet inhabited by the Omatikaya and Metkayina. During a recent interview with Collider’s Steve Weintraub at Star Wars Celebration to talk about The Mandalorian and Grogu, Weaver provided an update on the next Avatar film, including when she thinks she’ll get to see it:

“Jim [Cameron] is anxious...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Trailer Includes Easter Eggs Referencing Wandavision And The Last Of US
Image
Marvel Studios released an epic new trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps yesterday, and all signs point to the movie doing right by Marvel's First Family.

We've already broken down the biggest surprises and reveals, but a closer look at the reboot's Times Square showcases a couple of fun Easter Eggs that tip their hat to the MCU and beyond.

The first pays homage to WandaVision with a store named "Westview Appliances & Television." The Fantastic Four: First Steps director Matt Shakman helmed the Disney+ series, and both have the 1960s setting in common. Beyond that, we wouldn't anticipate them being connected in any way.

The next reference appears to pay homage to Mister Fantastic actor Pedro Pascal's role in The Last of Us as a theater is showing a movie called "Attack Of The Fungu" (you can read our review of season 2 by clicking here).

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Stills Reveal An Official New Look At The McU's Female Silver Surfer
Image
The McU's Herald of Galactus has finally been revealed!

Earlier today, Marvel Studios shared an action-packed new trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps (you can watch it here). Among the biggest talking points was our first look at Julia Garner's Silver Surfer, a character who has so far caused quite a bit of controversy.

The news that Galactus' Herald would be female wasn't well-received by some fans, even though this is likely Shalla-Bal rather than a gender-swapped Norrin Radd. There's even precedent for a female Surfer on the page, with the Earth X comic - an apparent source of inspiration for filmmaker Matt Shakman - putting her front and centre.

Marvel Studios has now shared some official stills from The Fantastic Four: First Steps, one of which offers a detailed look at the McU's Silver Surfer. Judging by some shots in the trailer, the movie's VFX look like...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Trailer Introduces Us To Marvel's First Family...And The Silver Surfer!
Image
With all eyes set to be on Star Wars Celebration from tomorrow, Marvel Studios has taken us to another Galaxy Far, Far Away today with the new trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

The sneak peek better establishes the dynamic between Mister Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch, and The Thing, and confirms the movie's worst-kept secret: Sue Storm is pregnant.

We also get to see the heroes in action, including Reed Richards' stretchy powers. He was the only member of the team not to display his abilities in the teaser, leading to theories that this Variant might be powerless; thankfully, that's not the case.

Easily the biggest talking point is the appearance of the McU's female Silver Surfer. The character, played by Julia Garner, looks pretty incredible and is shown here doing the bidding of Galactus. Alas, Marvel Studios is keeping the World Eater under wraps as...

‘Avatar: Fire & Ash’: Every New Character Set to Be Introduced in Avatar 3
Image
Alright, it’s official: Avatar 3: Fire & Ash is coming in hot, literally. James Cameron is dragging us back to Pandora, and this time, the vibes are volcanic. If The Way of Water had you emotionally attached to digital whales and blue people swimming in 4K, buckle up, because this next chapter is about to throw ash, fire, and probably some Na’vi drama right in our faces. The movie may not hit US theaters until December 19, but the cast has already wrapped up their work. So, now it’s all down to the wizardry of visual effects (aka why these movies take forever).

The cast lineup? Oh, it’s stacked. You’ve got the usual blue suspects, of course, no one’s going anywhere without the franchise MVPs. But this time, there’s a handful of brand-new characters joining the party, and let’s just say they’re bringing...

The Life of Chuck trailer: Mike Flanagan’s new Stephen King movie reaches theatres in June
Tom Hiddleston in The Life of Chuck (2024)
The upcoming film The Life of Chuck (which Neon will be giving a theatrical release on June 6th) is the latest Stephen King adaptation from Mike Flanagan, who has previously been at the helm of the Stephen King adaptations Gerald’s Game and Doctor Sleep (and is also developing series adaptations of The Dark Tower and Carrie for Amazon Studios) – but it is not a horror movie. JoBlo’s own Chris Bumbray got to see the movie a while back (you can read his 7/10 review Here) and described it as a “bittersweet tearjerker.” A teaser trailer dropped online a month ago, now a full trailer has arrived and you can watch it in the embed above!

Based on the short story from King’s 2020 anthology If It Bleeds, The Life of Chuck consists of three separate stories linked to tell the biography of Charles Krantz in reverse, beginning with his death...
