Now, PBS will temporarily fill the Charlie Rose timeslot with Amanpour on PBS, featuring CNN's Christiane Amanpour. The global affairs interview series, hosted by Amanpour, airs on CNN International as simply Amanpour. Check out the PBS press release to learn more. Read More…...

He revealed his involvement to Christiane Amanpour on ABC's "Nightline". "I'm very excited because my parents took me to watch the movies, and I saw all of them so to play that is going to be fun," Bardem told Amanpour. The final card in the Great ABC News Personality Deck-Shuffle of 2009-2010 got played yesterday morning when Christiane Amanpour took over the helm of the network’s Sunday-morning political talker This Week. If you need a reminder of how exactly she got there, here’s the general flow chart: Diane Sawyer left the Good Morning America host chair to helm the network’s nightly World News telecast; This Week’s George Stephanopoulos then snagged Sawyer’s Gma post; and a vacancy was left at This Week, which was filled by…Amanpour.

After days of speculation, ABC News announced on Thursday that CNN veteran Christiane Amanpour will be the new anchor of "This Week."
She will also serve as an foreign affairs analyst on other ABC News programs and will be anchoring primetime documentaries on international subjects.
"A highly respected journalist recognized around the world for her reporting, she brings to her new position a wealth of experience and knowledge, as well as a deep commitment to bringing news of the world to the American people," ABC News president David Westin said in an internal email.
"This Week" has been without a permanent anchor since George Stephanopoulos left in December to anchor "Good Morning America."
Amanpour will take over the anchor chair in August. Until then, Jake Tapper will serve as interim anchor. Ian Cameron will continue as executive producer.

Though it hasn't been officially announced yet, FishBowl DC is reporting that CNN correspondent Christiane Amanpour has been offered the job anchoring ABC's Sunday morning news show 'This Week.' The show was previously anchored by George Stephanopolous, who is now on 'Good Morning America.'
This would be quite a change for Amanpour. Her work on CNN has her trotting all over the globe (and hosting her own international affairs show 'Amanpour'). Sources say that she has told friends that she doesn't want to move to Washington, D.C., she wants to do the show out of New York City and also travel a lot for the show and report from foreign locales. This could change the focus of 'This Week' from mostly domestic political issues to international issues.
I'm wondering if CBS has tried to get Amanpour on a full-time basis. CNN's Anderson Cooper does regular reports...
