On the death of her mother, a young woman in northern England learns that her father is actually her step-father. She embarks on a search for her birth father, finds him running a jazz club in London, and learns a lot of happy and sad things about her family that she didn't know before. The title of the film is the classic jazz piece, "Misterioso," by Thelonious Monk, which features prominently in it.

Story of Jack and his farming family in West Wales. They have built up their dairy herd with vast loans and are then told they must cut back on milk production and slaughter some of the herd. The community launches a campaign against the quotas, but Jack takes the law into his own hands.

Down Where The Buffalo Go is a drama made for television by BBC Scotland. It follows the life of a US Marine (played by Keitel) based at the Holy Loch naval base and the local girl he married. Their relationship is at straining point - she wants to leave Scotland and settle in America while he wants to remain in Scotland.
