Armando Iannucci has launched a production company and is tying with BBC Studios on a development partnership.

The decorated British comedy writer has opened Touchscreen with long-standing collaborator and producer Kevin Loader along with development producer Charlotte Draper. The agreement with BBC Studios will see the pair work on scripted shows for the UK and internationally.

The new partnership will be committed to mentoring and championing new British talent, on and off screen, according to its founders. Iannucci will continue his partnership with HBO, which recently spawned The Franchise comedy with Sam Mendes.

Naoko Takeuchi wrote Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon in 1991, and published it through Kodansha's shojo magazine. The magical girl story was an instant hit, and Toei Animation adapted it into an anime starting in 1992. While the '90s Sailor Moon anime is still popular with audiences today, it differs quite a bit from the source material.

The new anime reboot, Sailor Moon Crystal, and its two concluding films (Sailor Moon Eternal and Sailor Moon Cosmos) are far more loyal to Takeuchi's original story. Both anime series have their pros and cons. Fans old and new enjoy how close Crystal is to the manga.

Exclusive: Disney+ has boarded Shared Custody, the comedy-drama series that marks Champions maker Javier Fesser’s first directing gig in TV.

We can reveal that the streamer will launch Shared Custody in January 2025, with filmmaker Fesser directing the eight-episode series, which was announced over two years ago and explores what happens when parents separate. Fremantle-backed producer The Immigrant is making the show, which is written and created by Juanjo Moscardó Rius, who created the Goya-nominated A Shitty Therapy, and María Mínguez (Vivir dos Veces).

A new deleted scene from Survivor 46, Episode 6 has been revealed. The episode featured the Merge Challenge and Moriah Gaynor getting voted out.

As Survivor fans already saw, Moriah became a sacrificial lamb from the Siga Tribe after all Yanu Tribe members earned safety.

The unbalanced teams teased a one-sided Merge Challenge, but the underdog team nearly pulled it off. If not for the puzzle prowess of Hunter McKnight, the results may have been different.

But additional footage from the episode hit the cutting room floor. If the episode had been two hours, viewers could have seen more discussions at the Merge Feast and back at camp with the losing team.

The main focus of those scenes (during the episode) was deciding who would be targeted at the upcoming Tribal Council. It was an extensive discussion, with Nami and Siga each asked to nominate someone to vote out.

Exclusive: Grasshopper Film and streaming platform Documentary+ have acquired North American rights to the Oscar-shortlisted feature Apolonia, Apolonia, a deal announced as the nomination voting window opens for the 96th Academy Awards.

Grasshopper will release the film theatrically Friday at Dctv’s Firehouse Cinema in New York, “with a launch on Documentary+ following all other traditional windows,” according to a release.

The film directed by Lea Glob documents the life of French painter Apolonia Sokol over a 13-year period, examining her attempt to maintain artistic integrity in an art world — and culture — where patriarchy privileges the male gaze over the female.
