- TriviaAt the closing segment of the show, Dick Clark says tell the audience that this is the final show of the CBS version and they can still see The $100,000 Pyramid (1985) still airing new episodes in syndication. CBS had canceled the show and replaced it with another game show Blackout (1988), which was going to make it's debut the next Monday January 4th, 1988. However, Blackout was doing very poorly in the ratings and fans started writing many angry letters to CBS asking why they cancel The $25,000 Pyramid? All of this caused Michael Brockman admit he made a mistake to called up Bob Stewart to ask him to put "The $25,000 Pyramid" back in production. Once Blackout's 13 weeks were over, The $25,000 Pyramid returned to CBS on April 4, 1988 to continue it's 6th season.
